The best thing about Wills and Kate's wedding is the extra bank holiday - we'll get two 4-day-weekends in a row - although I doubt I'll use the extra day off to watch the wedding, they can be long and tedious.

As for Diana, I really think if it had been 500 years ago The Firm would've just put her in the tower and lopped her head off, as was the customary way of dispatching of adulterous wives at the time! Although I did really enjoy seeing Di when she visited my primary school in about 1987, before all the shit kicked off.

Fergie - just repulsive. Any Brits out there remember the toe-sucking story? Vile. Her kids are weird-looking as well... I reckon Anne's kids are about the best of the modern bunch.

I always remember a British programme called Spitting Image, many years ago they featured an awesome piss-ripping of Queen Liz singing a version of "I Will Survive"...

    "Hey hey
    I will survive
As long as Charles is next in line
    I know I'll stay alive"

I wonder what the Queen will give William and Katherine (she'll only be Kate in the press here on out) for a present- meaning some honor? Andrew was made Duke of York (oh the grand old Duke of York, he had 10,000 men.....) and Edward was made Earl of Wessex. Camilla became Duchess of Cornwall because all the royal income from Cornwall goes to Charles.

I wonder if they'll make up something like Duke of Highgrove? (that's Charles' little place in the country- I'd imagine William will inherit it)

I really don't read that much about William and Kate but I think she is pretty and I love her clothes and boots, I am a boot freak.

She is already hounded by the press, I think that would be a horrible lifestyle. They will be in her face from now on, forever. I'm guessing she is mature enough to handle it.

Cambridge is probably the most likely as it has the most recent family connection-back to Queen Mary, Elizabeth II's grandmother-though she could do something unexpected and make them Duke and Duchess of Clarence, which hasn't been used since 1892, or D and D of Connaught, which also expired when QV's son Arthur died, or Albany (ditto for another of QV's sons)

Albany would be interesting, since it's a title given to the Scottish monarch's first born son.

I'm fairly certain at this point Liz is planning on making it through the wedding, patting her grandson on the head and making sure he knows he's literally the last sane hope, then laying down to quietly die (preferably after poisoning Charles), so she doesn' t have to deal with her moronic children and their idiot (ex) spouses.

Prince Andrew's former love Koo Stark: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/ar...g-benefit.html
    Still lovely.

I thought she was just Andrew's not serious girlfriend. This article makes it sound like he wanted to marry her until it came out she'd acted in "soft porn". The irony is he couldn't marry Koo because of her scandalous past, so he married Sarah who had the right pedigree, then got caught up in multiple scandals!

He WAS very serious about Koo. I remember when this broke back in 1983 (or was it 1982?) and all the coverage, reporters chasing her round, Andrew's friends talking to the press, saying how he had gone to the Queen to ask permission to marry her, etc.

Is is strange that William WON'T wear his wedding ring! I mean my Dad don't wear his ring too, reason is that his fingers are too big! I dont like it. I mean it's a show of love and marriage. But I've been told some men dont wear one. Maybe I am old fashioned but I would want my future husband to wear one!

I don't like it either. He is supposed to be a "model" citizen, someone representing his country, someone people can look up to. I bet Kate wasn't in on that decision!

I read he was going to ask her about not wearing his ring, but in the end didnt ask and just told people thats his plans. I dont like it. My Dad not worn his wedding ring for years, the ring is too small for his big fingers or so I''ve been told!

Charles never wore one when he was married to Diana either. I wonder if it is some kind of weird tradition?

I saw a photo of Charles that looks like he's wearing a small band behind his signet ring- from Camilla. Look real close here: http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=...w=1024&bih=540

I guess since she's the great love of his life and all- go figure.

He is most definitely, a turd. What a great word for him.

I read that it it not unusual for British men to not wear a wedding ring. In his case, though, it isn't like Kate could say, "You better wear it so everyone KNOWS you're married" like some everyday Joe, you know?

You have to remember that William is a search and rescue pilot. It might not be safe to wear one on an every day basis.

Charles DID in fact wear one with Diana-at least for a time. She very quietly slipped it onto his finger at the wedding immediately after he placed the ring on he finger-in some of the footage you can see her do this, and it appeared in a few photos. But because he wears a ring on his left pinkie (for his dukedom) it usually was easy to overlook. I would imagine Wills will also have one when the Queen makes him (presumably) a duke on marriage.

Far be it from me to stand up for Charles...but at least in this case, he did have a ring with Diana received at the wedding.

OMG, I love that version of "I Will Survive"! Wow, I wish I could've met Princess Diana. I wish William and Kate all the best, but I'm concerned that the marriage won't last very long. There is one positive thing, though, since William was old enough to realize how upset his mummy was about his father making her cry (Camilla? or Royal Family pressures) maybe he will be understanding with Kate.

+ 1 and very proud to be British . I'm getting fed up off people ranting about taxpayers money . Well I pay higher tax and am quite happy to contribute towards it like I do for the NHS /Education/not so much the Spongers on Benefits but don't mind the one's hat genuinely need the help! You have no choice so just enjoy either watching the wedding , or having an extra day off work.

Oh, who wants to talk about THE DRESS?

I think it's going to be slinky bride, not fairy princess puffed sleeve bride like Diana. Diana was a lovely young bride. But all that silk was wrinkled up even as she got out of the coach dragging her 25 ft train. She made it beautiful, but I thought it was kind of plain.

I think that T-mobile commercial came pretty close to what it will be. A narrow silhouette; perhaps even sort of "mermaid" style. I think it's possible she'll wear a long veil (cathedral length) with a tiara instead of a train. I've heard rumors about Medieval influences- laces down the back? French sleeves? oooh nice.

it won't be a proper iconic wedding gown unless there's something quirky about her ensemble. Remember Celine Dion's wedding? Nobody remembers the dress, but she had a crystal chandelier on her head! What I remember from Sophie's wedding to Edward was that, imo, kind of ugly pearl cross he designed for her, not her lovely but simple dress.

The media has a name for Kate's style already "Safe Chic" I'd be astonished if it's 20 ft of tulle and ruffles. Still, it's got to have something special about it to become "Catherine's wedding gown"
What would be cooler is if William dusted off the big sapphires Diana got as gifts from Middle Eastern sultan types: http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=...w=1024&bih=540 Make that big sapphire into a brooch and put it on her bodice like the Queen does!

Ok I'll admit it. I"M SO EXCITED!! Let's face it, it's GOOD news in a world filled with doom.

Everything is mostly speculation at this point. Will she wear a tiara? IMO, yes. I'm getting the feeling it will be something new. No sleeveless or strapless gown. A long veil, maybe some pearls.
I remember well when William was born and I give them both a HURRAY!!!!

I would think she would totally be wearing a tiara and a veil..now the dress??? no way do I think it's going to be like Diana's or even that proper...in the sense of what "royalty" like the Queen would deem as proper..elegant is my bet..no trashy...something Aline or yes even mermaid style probably with a long train...maybe lots of lace...I wouldn't be surprised if something from Diana's dress will be added to it...I personally will watch...I am happy for William and Kate..at least with them you can tell they are in love...I remember being 9 years old and watching Di and Chuck's wedding and saying WHY DO THEY BOTH LOOK SO SAD???

The Russian Fringe tiara is lovely btw

Diana wore the Spencer Family Tiara. Much as Kate might like to be simple and modern, her dress has to accord with the occasion and the venue-meaning some kind of substantial train and a design that, no matter how "clean-lined," will be very posh.

By this time tomorrow we'll know-and presumably Wills and Kate will be Duke and Duchess of Something (Cambridge, Sussex, Albany, Connaught, Clarence?)

just watched 8 royal weddings on ON DEMAND and I really do hope that Kate does NOT wear the same tiara Princess Anne wore...the Russian Fringe...although it's lovely...I really don't think it will look good on Kate...Kate is stunning and lets face it...Anne needed the help to detract from her horse face...If Kate has to wear any tiara..the Spencer family tiara or even the one Queeny wore herself would be more appropriate IMO

my bet is they will be the Duke and Duchess of BOWCHICKYBOWWOW and we'll see another little prince in about 10 months time! lmao just kidding

I was flipping through pictures of Diana yesterday admiring her jewelry and you can see it on her face a lot of the time. When she was happy, her whole face lit up, but in a lot of pictures she looks drawn and stressed. Maybe because she didn't want all that attention.

It's all Charles' fault. She was just a kid and needed him to steer her through it. He went on with his life, used her for procreation and pretty much threw her to the wolves. If I were going to the Wedding, I'd be sitting over with the Spencers. What an urd-tay!

I agree the Fringe Tiara has been used a lot. It would be nice to see something different.
Another tiara talked about is the Strathmore Rose Tiara. It was a gift from the Queen Mum's father on her marriage to Bertie, later George VI. It's kind of cool and somewhat medieval: http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=...w=1024&bih=540

Must be a blast standing around all the jewel boxes trying everything on!
