Off-duty cop "goes into the wrong apartment" and kills man

Female officer comes home after her shift and "accidentally" goes into a neighbor's apartment, shoots him to death.

Apparently they are trying to go after her for manslaughter. The police are calling it a "very unique situation." Social media is buzzing with people claiming they had been in a relationship. I don't know, but who the fuck goes into the wrong apartment? She was coming home after work, so unless she was drinking on the job she obviously wasn't intoxicated.

Hmmm. She did not know her own apartment? Sounds to me like she was intoxicated.

Either that or distracted and or so tired she wasn't thinking straight, I got into someone's car thinking it was mine and hubby's it looked like ours, I wasn't paying attention just deep in thought, The door wasn't locked on the car for some reason I opened the door and got in and sat there, waiting for hubby and he comes to me knocks on the window and says honey this is not our car.

Would she not have to use her keys to gain entrance to "her" apartment ? Something off about this one.

I asked my hubby that same question Shellc, it's a gated community and most people don't lock their doors in a gated community, but yeah something seems fishy about this one.

Was the door locked? If not she just walked in? Did not realize this was not her apartment when he opened the door? Did not recognize him living close by? From what I am reading sounds like he was a very nice guy. Very sad. And yes sounds fishy to me.

It was a gated community, and lots didn't lock their doors. Cop probably didn't lock hers either, so going on in wasn't a red flag. I don't know what to think. When I was little a drunk got our house mixed up with his girlfriend's house next door. He walked in, and Daddy yanked his rifle and pulled the trigger. Gun wasn't loaded. That's what makes me wonder if she was drunk. Also, I've never seen a female cop that didn't have that hard-look on her face.

Either way she's been doing it four years so she can't blame it on a rookie mistake.

Out on bail, walking free after killing a guy in his own home for no reason. Government protecting its own once again. Can't wait to see how many more ways they're going to spin this to make her the "victim" that everyone should feel sorry for. I bet if it ever goes to trial she's acquitted.

They did a blood draw to test for drugs/alcohol at the scene. It shouldn't take this long for the results, I wonder if they have been "lost."

I totally agree, just doesn't makes sense. Even if you were intoxicated, most people know their own place, seems suspect to me.

Possibly, maybe in passing. Still something off about this, I think it will be awhile until we get the real story. Then again we may not.

The funniest thing to me was when people were trying to make that bogus argument that they were dating, and they posted a photo of him standing next to a girl who looked NOTHING LIKE GUYGER. I guess all white girls look the same to some folks.

Well, if they were having a fling he might have decided she was not the right one for him. Just looking at her you can see she would not take rejection well. She had her Norma Desmond moment... "No one leaves a police officer!"

I read somewhere that she was distracted because she was sex texting with her on duty partner and not paying attention when she entered the wrong apartment and saw the man she shot in there, thinking it was her own aparment drew her gun. When I find article again I'll post a link

    That wouldn't be surprising.
But sometimes things work out kind of funny.

Maybe here in 2 or 3 years, President Biden will be asked to consider a pardon for Trump.

I understand what you're saying, and I also understand that she was just getting off a 12+ hour shift. However, a law enforcement officer is supposed to have good judgement under any circumstance. I have always felt there was something else going on with her than a what is known.

Yeah - the "official story" does just seem off.
But the best case scenario - if you can call it that - is that she got turned around and made a mistake; and killed a guy as a result.

He's dead forever, she's going to live with it forever; that's awful, I'd say.

I saw a video of the victim's brother forgiving and hugging Guyger after the verdict. It is all over the news but I don't think the video of the judge is.

If his brother forgives her that is his choice and I respect him for that. I do have mixed feelings about the judge hugging her and giving her support. I found it odd.
