"Sharp chest pains" can be a sign of an anxiety attack. In fact, people in the throes of an anxiety attack often have physical symptoms much like a heart attack. Since the heart tests came back negative, I'm going to armchair diagnose this as an anxiety attack. He probably was able to self-medicate before with all the pills he was on and dull any previous attacks/anxiety.

Yes, indeed Mary! The worst/most rabid and dangerous enemies of our community are all-too frequently gay themselves. Take Joe McCarthy and Roy Cohn as prime examples. Rush as well as many closeted republican congressmen, governors, etc. are, sadly, just the latest generation of "Judas goats" who offer up others for derision and/or harm in order to deflect attention from themselves.

So some of the statements can be verified and some can't. I guess it's all in the way you intepret the ones that are. They sound racist to me, but other people would naturally disagree.

Backpedaling usually denotes a bit of guilt or CYA.

Disinformation and hatred? I think that and some other recent comments are a bit much when members are just giving their opinions on some celebrity.

Regardless of what we each may think of another's opinion on any celebrity, let's not forget that we're all free to express ourselves on the subject without dealing with derogatory remarks when we do. It's better to pass by posts that offend than get caught up in that.

And please remember it's just a forum and just some celebrity, not something to get worked up about. I'm sure our real lives can accommodate us all in that department. So let's keep it fun here.

    A reminder:

    Nick
    Administrator

I'm probably going to end up posting a forum-wide announcement about this and incorporating it into the rules, but please listen:

Quoting a comment that you think is totally out of line or offensive only gives legs to that comment. It doesn't matter if you quote it to say, "Shame on you," or whatever. What you are doing is taking the comment and doubling the number of places it is written. Then someone else sees it and quotes it and now you have the offending comment in three times as many places as it was originally. And so on.

And the more something is repeated, the more it sinks in. So if someone writes, "All Greek men are slimy criminals," and you are a Greek man that takes offense, almost all you are accomplishing by quoting the remark is legitimizing it. And the more ridiculous the original comment, the less helpful it is to quote it.

If someone says an individual deserved a disease and you quote him, to me, as an administrator, you are lending some level of support to his view because you are repeating it and reinforcing it in the minds of readers that otherwise would have just skipped past it or who had a hard enough time reading it in the first place and would rather not see it dredged up again.

Do not quote posts that break forum rules.
    Thanks.

Oooohhh that triggered a memory! Off topic but when I moved to Ptown the realtor that sold us our home got us invited to an "exclusive" party at a private home so we could meet some people.
The usual Ptown celebs of the day were there, Norman Mailer, John irvings blacksheep brother, several minor gay celebs. We felt like fish out of water. There were actually open dishes of cocaine on tabels. Definately not my scene. We were trying to exit as quickly as graciously as possible. I had security clearance at the time and I was a nervous wreck. The realtor insisted on introducing us to our host Roy Cohen. He was really tanned and wrinkled and I swear he looked as much like a lizard as any human could. His eyes were dead and cold. I recovered from the shock and ignored his extended hand and made our excuses and we left.
    I felt like I needed a shower.
I think that guy was pure evil and I seldom say that about anyone.
    Regards,
    Mary

So has anyone heard if he is following through with his threat on moving to Costa Rica? I hope he gets his Viagra and Oxycontin scrpits filled before he leaves.

He never said he would move to Costa Rica, a caller said they are moving their Health Ins Co to Costa Rica and charge Amer more for their products, so Rush said do I have to move to Costa Rica for this health care?

They may not be too happy there. I know ton's of lesbians that bought property there with plans on retiring down there.
Between that and the fact that it describes itself as a social democracy he may be a little uncomfortable.
Back in the early 90s a lot of well to do lesbians discovered Costa Rica as a safer destination than Mexico. It is less hardcore Catholic and therefore less homophobic for some reason.
There are several women's communities down there and more springing up all the time. I go down there to visit friends and fish every couple of years.
Stable government, low crime and decent social welfare structure in terms of health care and employment etc.

I guess the prices on everything is gonna sky rocket, simular to what happened in the 70's. Mr. K has been stock piling food, bought 5 gallon buckets of Tide and Downey etc...I personally think Mr.K needs to go get some counseling. He is treating this as people did in 1999, when all the computer were gonna fail. NEVER HAPPENED. I just go with the flow around this house.

Maybe this is why my husband has loaded up our basement with everything imaginable, over the years. I think there's more to it though. Like only computers from the 80's will work in 2011, maybe? That's the biggest stockpile so something_is_up. As long as we don't get stuck paying interest on anything and I can find my gardening stuff, I'll pretend like I haven't noticed.

Mormons on the forum feel free to jump in and correct any errors in what I am saying here.
I have mormon clients in Utah. Nice folks. They know I am a lesbian and at least to my face they have always treated me just fine.
I have been to the home of one of the families and in the basement next to the pool table were two large shrink wrapped skids. They contain two years worth of everything, food, soap, common medications, batteries etc. you buy the skids from a supplier to the Mormon churches out there and the practice is strongly encouraged. When the stuff gets near the end of it's useful shelf life they are supposed to donate it to charity and buy another set.
This is one of the companies they told me they buy from. LDS members qualify for special pricing.

Over doing it a bit, ain't they?
Buying into the fear mongering the media feeds us and keeping yourself scared ain't gonna help.
Seems to me the skids full of supplies is just a waste of money.
Well, then that explains why the need for more than one wife, now doesn't it?
When one goes or gets beyond her shelf life, then there will be another one right there and ready to take her place!
That's it! I'm turning mormon right now!
    What's that?
They don't drink booze or smoke pot?

This particular guest did impress me.
Elton John: Wedding Singer...for Rush Limbaugh?
Sun., Jun. 6, 2010 5:35 PM PDT by BRANDI FOWLER

    Jo Hale/Getty Images
Sean Hannity we'd expect, but who would have imagined Elton John would be putting in an appearance at the wedding of Rush Limbaugh?

In an unexpected booking, the crooner reportedly took the stage at Palm Beach's Breakers Hotel to perform in front of 400 guests in celebration of the conservative icon's marriage to 33-year-old Kathryn Rogers, according to People.

This is the fourth marriage for 59-year-old Limbaugh, but the more compelling story is just what Limbaugh and the 63-year-old Grammy winning knight have in common.

A desire to debate gay marriage

Shows you that that Elton is a capitalist.
Elton Performed in Morocco recently and that was controversy too.
Wasn't it also the same with Elton performing with Eminem.

I don't really see why opposing political views should keep people from associating in cordial ways.

Funny in all other photos of them kissing she staring directly at the camera while Rush paws her. Very staged looking.
    She looks like Chelsea Clinton:

    Creepy!

How horrifying it would be to be pawed by that jackass! Although...it would give a girl a reason to try out that new chainsaw she might just happen to have lying around.

Do you think a gasbag would pop on impact or go whizzing around the room a bit first? Would his past, excessive use of oxys have an effect on the outcome, do you think?

The Money that Rush Gave Elton will go to LGBT charity.

    http://www.masslive.com/mywideworld/...s_wedding.html

Elton John is being roundly panned for singing at Limbaugh's wedding, because Limbaugh has made numerous homophobic comments over the years, and Elton John is an openly gay man who is being accused of selling out.

The gay advocacy blog Queerty lashed out at John's decision to play, calling Elton John's paycheck, "blood money" and "tainted."

While Rush and Elton do make strange bedfellows, no pun intended, the ironic twist to all this is that Elton John reportedly has plans to donate most, if not all of the money he earned playing for Limbaugh, to a LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender) teen group.

So at the end of the day, Rush Limbaugh will be donating a seven figure sum to some of the people who are decrying Elton John's performance in the first place. Very little 'Harmony' in this fight.
Now for all those making a big stink about Elton John's business arrangement with Rush Limbaugh remember this, it's not the first time Elton John has involved himself with a celebrity who has been associated with anti-gay public comments.
Elton John and Eminem performed a memorable duet at the 2001 Grammy Awards. Entertainment Weekly named the performance of 'Stan' on its end-of-the-decade, "best-of" list, saying, "It was the hug heard 'round the world.

Did anyone actually doubt that the money Elton earns from this gig will go to an LGBT charity? Really? Certainly he doesn't need the money himself. Gay activist rags and bloggers looooove to vomit out the bile well before digesting the entire meal--it's really frustrating given his track record and long history of good works.

So the joke's on Rush and all is well with Sir E, and the dum-dum bloggers and blogspots (such as Queerty) can shut the fuck up now, please. Save your ire for the Rick Santorums in the world, not people who are trying their best to help ffs.

Now If Rush wasn't such a bag of hate and self loathing (because you can't be as mean as he is without self hatred), I would find him attractive. I like big men. It's his insides that are unattractive, and it isn't because he's a Republican but because he's a hypochrite . I also wonder sometimes if some of this is not just an act, and he just keeps it up for show?
