What's the working title? The Boil on the Ass of a Nation?

They could do a homage to the cinematography of D.W. Griffith. That would fit well with Rush's epic sense of inflated self-importance.

If they go with the D.W. Griffith suggestion, maybe they'll make it a silent movie so we don't have to listen to him fart through his face. I wonder which studio genius greenlighted this project and how much longer he will still have a job.

Rush and Sean Hannity: Rumors of their demise are greatly exaggerated.

Cumulus Broadcasting (whose stations carry the two talkers) are in negotiations with Clear Channel who distributes both shows. Cumulus is known for being frugal and doesn't want to pay fees that Clear Channel is asking to continue airing Limbaugh and Hannity. It's a money standoff but if Cumulus doesn't relent, Clear Channel will pull Limbaugh and Hannity from Cumulus stations and put them on Clear Channel owned stations, which there's more of them than Cumulus has.

What ever Rush Limbaugh says will always be an idiotic

Is there a liberal talk show host with as many listeners as Rush Limbaugh? Maybe that show is on Air America......whoops its gone.

I don't listen to him. I just can't listen to someone talk ad infinitum on the radio, plus I'm at work when he is on. I prefer music.

The guy plays to the lowest common denominator. I cannot believe he is relevant.

Let the mouthbreathers eat up his insane ramblings and ignore the whole pile of stupid that is their life.

I would venture a guess (and I have listened to Limbaugh), that the reason there is no counterpart to Limbaugh has nothing to do with politics. It has to do with brain cells. None of us with functioning ones feel the need to listen to someone natter on like the mentally disabled love child of Ann Coulter and Charles Manson. It's not a Republican/Democrat thing. It's a stupid/intelligent thing. I have an American friend who is so conservative she makes Reagan look like a dirty hippy showering the streets with other people's money. She LOATHES Limbaugh.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of very stupid people out there.

The reason Limbaugh is still around has little to do with politics and more to do with revenue. That's why he's still on more stations than any other talker. Just follow the sales department, the bottom line in radio.

Nobody is questioning why he's still around. Idiots outnumber people with common sense. He will always have great ratings.

He will that is until once his advertisers will consider the bulk of his listeners as being "too old" and therefor they will demand someone younger ( and cheaper ) to take his place. Its all part of reaching that younger demographic. 10 years from now, maybe even 5 years from now, I wouldn't be surprised if Rush Limbaugh and the others would be replaced by a new breed of young conservative radio hosts who are in their 20's and early 30's...that is in this so-called interactive/everything online age if radio in itself would still be around.

To my Father. Even though you have crossed the plane, you will always be with me.
You were not just my Father, but my hero. My life has been a poor attempt to be like you
You taught me music, vocals, and how to fight. I can only hope I am half the man you are
When I close my eyes I can see you. And finally, Thank you Dad. for everything.

He does make a lot of sense, but I can't say I listen every day. Three things about him trouble me, though-

    (1) He lost considerable rank with me when it was revealed he was abusing oxycontin, doctor shopping to get more and even (via his drug abuse) triggering his complete hearing loss. It's like his stock value was at $100 before all that, dipped to $33 and rebounded to $80 where it's permanently stuck.

    (2) He's married to the false and deceptive left-right paradigm when he should cleave to the "Constitutional-common sense-intelligent" and "utter nonsense-destructive and retarded" paradigm. "Left-right, Democrat-Republican" is a mental trap.

    (3) He's been on the radio for greater than 25 years preaching the "conservative" philosophy and still this country slides steadily into the shitter. There's some other philosophy, or data, or knowledge he's not aware of or not sharing with his audience. He talks into the radio air every day and it makes no difference.

BTW Doesn't Rush remind one of Charles Foster Kane? A loner in reality (even if he does have a wife) with a castle in Florida.

    Yeah.
Besides, I hear that Trump will award him the Presidential Medal of Freedom during a break from lying about the State of the Union tonight.
So that Medal of Freedom medal must surely command some respect, sort of like that Office of the President does.

Sadly he didn't get throat cancer with all the

Because of all the racist things he has said over

All said aside, he represents freedom of speech. Without freedom of speech, we wouldn't have this forum. I'm not a fan of his but don't wish him any ill. It's disturbing that we we now live in a society in which the life of a rapist is celebrated while the life of another is condemned for having an opinion. Voicing an opinion is a brave thing to do in these times.

I'm trying to be careful here so I am not saying you are wrong, but just trying to correct what you said. Rush isn't condemned for having an opinion. He is condemned for what his opinion is.

When you demean other ill people, that should be countered. He has every right to say it. He doesn't have a right for no one to counter it.

I agree with you, but you kind of are saying I am wrong if you correct me. This is where free speech comes in, which was the point of my post. I didn't say I agree with anything he says. I don't. Wishing bad things on him is done with the same hatred he creates.
