Dear Rhonda,
I love your blog. You ARE "kinda funny". The thing about meds is great, as is the neighbor stuff. Some dogs are barkers. Too bad you had / have them next door.
Thanks for the compliment, Hidi!!

Upthread I posted a link to the 75th Oscar Anniversary which was in 2003 with some 50 past winners.
Here's the 1997 version in two parts. It's interesting to see those who passed in those six years and who didn't show up for the 2003 show. This class includes Shirley Temple, Rod Steiger, and De Niro.

Jesus- so he went from "I'm okay!" to dead as a doornail in three months? That's not encouraging.

This is super interesting. These are NOT celebrities, but the photos are the last ones taken before the people were killed by their murderers. The last photo on the list, Karen Sprinker, was my cousin. http://www.trutv.com/library/crime/b...ers/index.html

One commonality, as a rule, for successful vocalists of Bing's era and before is that they knew how to sing properly, what their range was, their limitations, and how to care for their voice which was their livelihood. To be able to sing as Bing did in that vid two months before his death is a testament.
To my Father. Even though you have crossed the plane, you will always be with me.
You were not just my Father, but my hero. My life has been a poor attempt to be like you
You taught me music, vocals, and how to fight. I can only hope I am half the man you are
When I close my eyes I can see you. And finally, Thank you Dad. for everything.

From my rotting body, flowers shall grow and I am in them and that is eternity. ~Edvard Munch
I've never watched any movies he was in, but he was incredibly handsome. It's sad that he and Roger lost their lives in such an awful way. Hopefully it was quick. I guess they died doing something they loved.
According to this website, this is the last pic of Nelson Mandela. It also says it was taken six months ago soooo...

Interesting how we picture them as young and healthy but in that video he looks like a gray-haired bobblehead.

Kevin - I mean, what's saving lives if there's no one to make out with?
Daria - I believe Gandhi asked that same question.
Jane - It's why he had to be eliminated.
No offense, but he looks a LOT older than 46. Plus, he looks TOTALLY strung out, in that pic. It's sad that he had demons from 23 years ago, which he apparently held at bay, but couldn't conquer, in the end. Rest in peace.
He sure does. In fact scratch that, THESE are the last pics two days before the OD

Thank you so much for the link. He was one of my favorite actors of all time, but this part troubled me:
"according to law enforcement sources - who have now launched a city-wide search to catch his drug dealer."
Why is his death more important than the rest of the users who have died from overdosing on drugs? They're not out looking for their dealers.
To understand the living, you got to commune with the dead.
