Outgoing Florida Gov. Charlie Crist is considering pardoning one of the dead – not one of the Grateful Dead, but Jim Morrison, the deceased lead singer of The Doors. Morrison was convicted of indecent exposure after a rowdy Miami concert in 1969, The Hill reports.
“Stay tuned,” Crist told the publication, discussing the idea of a posthumous pardon for the rock star who died in Paris in 1971. Crist left the Republican Party to run for Senate as an independent this year and was thumped by Republican Marco Rubio.
As for a Morrison pardon, “Candidly, it's something that I haven’t given a lot of thought to, but it's something I’m willing to look into in the time I have left,” Crist says. “Anything is possible.”
I shall die, but that is all that I shall do for Death; I am not on his pay-roll.
