i hope that never happens....If Brian and Roger hired a singer who tried to copy Freddie, they'd lose a lot of my respect, as far as im concerned.

    Hi, Jason!

i wanted to ask my fellow Queen fans, what are your thoughts about the "A kind of magic" album? i wasnt too fond of it , but now its one of my favorites.
"One year of Love" written by Deacon, its a beautiful song, the lyrics are amazing.i also love Pain is so close to pleasure and Princes of the Universe, one of my favorite Freddie's songs.

Hey Lee umm... I enjoy the "A Kind Of Magic" album. I love the cover for starters and my favorites on that album are "who wants to live forever", "Princes of the universe", "Gimme the prize" and "One Vision"... I don't care too much for "Pain is so close to pleasure" and "one year of love" is ok. I didn't think it should have taken up a slot on Classic Queen but I guess it did well in America.

The rest of the album is good... over all it's not one of my favorite albums of theirs but it's not the worst either.

Thats what i used to think, now it has really grown on me.... Oh, One Vision is definetely my favorite of the album, i had forgotten about it.
Who wants to live forever is awesome, ive heard that May wrote it while he was going back home, after having watched most of the HIGHLANDER footage with the rest of the band.

Yeah, they had just viewed a screening and Brian went home with "Who wants to live forever" in his head and Roger wrote "A Kind Of Magic" based on a line from the movie.

Slow, I wanted to do some last night but my little cousin was over (he's 3) so I had to entertain him.

Tonight I want to just lock my door and get things done.

Going away next week (for 10 days) and I want to have the song finished or near finished by then.

    Thumbs up

Ooohh Jason, I'm glad I saw you on this thread. I forgot to mention yesterday, that I spent much of the morning going over some YouTubes of Live Aid back in 1985. You were just a youngun' of course , But I was a teen, and Live Aid was our Woodstock. Freddie was voted best live performance for the show. Here's some clips if anyones not too familiar with Live Aid back then. It was a super concert event between the UK and also in the states, raising money to feed the hungry in Ethiopia specifically, but trying to help much of Africa who had been suffering famine and drought.

Pt 1: I LOVE how Freddie revs up the crown when he comes out!
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDckgX3oU_w

    Pt 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MfYcKNqQoJo

    Pt 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IGUdjHUVd18

    Pt 4: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E5RFOii3efs

pt 5: Interviews about Live Aid including Freddie rehearsing
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vdcDswc97Bo

    That man was so gifted.

I'm freddie too! That really surprised me as i voted for dogs(Freddie loved cats) as my favorite animal and for drums as my favorite instrument.
    Its OK, though

Mamma, yes, Freddie was one of the most talented artist of all time.
ive watched all those videos like a thousand times, it sucks so much that i could never see them live, i was born at the wrong time, damn!

Hey Mamma, how's it going? I love the live aid performance, especially when you watch all the other acts and then Queen... you really can see why they were the best.

By far, the absolute BEST front man of all time, Freddie Mercury. I am convinced. I mean, just look at how the crowd responds!! All in synch with his voice and his direction. Completely amazing. I miss him, but will always LOVE his live performances at Live Aid, the best ever. Watching Freddie that day, and me watching on the tube on MTV, was truly one of those "I was there," moments.
