I taped it as well... so I do have it somewhere on a crappy VHS.
Roger may have said that... but he said a couple of different things (ga ga being one of them) as he clearly didn't remember the exact words the baby said.

Bohemian Rahpsody
Don't Stop me now
Killer Queen
Who wants to live forver
I just love Freddie anyway so I always found something good in his music whether it was a favorite or not.
Yeah, my friend and I use to say Freddie could record himself yawning in the morning and it would go platinum.
<the worst Queen song is better then some bands best song... and all because of Freddie. If you took Freddie out of the mix you would realize most Queen songs really aren't that great as songs, it's just Freddie making them into what you know them as>

God I LOVE fat bottomed girls.
That's a great example of a song that would SUCK!!! if Freddie wasn't singing it. Well maybe it wouldn't flat out suck but it wouldn't be a HIT.
Ok then who could sing fat bottom girls good & bad?
Good - i know he is dead but frank sinatra...could you imagine a smooth jazz version!
Bad - Julius Iglesias! He just sucks!
Humour and spunk........... its hard to think of someone who wasnt at his tribute concert... ok obviously no one will match up to fred...no doubt about that.
How about Elvis singing love of my life??
Elvis would do a good job I think... he would obviously tune it down a bit and then end it with his typical BIG FINISH!!
add in the karate move at the end & you have perfection!
Im struggerling to find other artists that could sing his tunes....
I think Queen is also. They've had how many different new lead singers and I'm sorry it's just not ever gonna be the same. I almost got pissed when the guy from Bad Company did some of their songs. Saw it on youtube and though, how DARE you try to replace Freddie. Now I realize he probably wasn't trying to replace him per se, but still...some things should just be left alone, imho.
HA!! that would be funny. Bono, MIKA, Aretha Franklin are among the few I would like to see attempt a Queen song.
Paul Rogers is really the FIRST "replacement" or guy to perform a complete concert with Brian and Roger. The others were just paying tribute. I know what you mean though... back in 1992 Brian said "you won't see us going on tour as Queen again" 13-14 years later he became a liar, but as I've said they do pay tribute to Freddie throughout the show and it was a blast seeing them live (as I never got to). I highly doubt anything past 1991 for Queen will make a huge dent in the history books but I think they just want to rock out in their old age and still try to be relevant.
<I'm sure Freddie's looking down smiling at how his shoes can not and will not ever be replaced>

I saw what's-his-name with Bad Company singing with the band and changed the channel. I have no problem looking at dead people all day long, but that sight turned my stomach. I feel sorry for the rest of Queen when Freddie died as they were basically out of a job, but nobody, and I mean nobody can replace Freddie. Don't even go there. Just retire and fish all day or something.
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39
Aretha franklin eh.... what a soul version of their tunes??
Well I say Aretha because Freddie once said he would love to hear her do Somebody to love... so I figure he probably had her in mind when he wrote it. Plus I honestly do think she would do a damn good job at it... well not sure how she's sounding these days, but definitely when she was in her prime.

I think living wise Bono would be good as he has a strong voice. George Michael was good at the concert...he hasnt been doing so well musically - do you think he needs a job?
you mean should he take Paul Rogers place? or in general?
I think George Michaels could make a come back any time he wanted to... thing is, I don't think he wants to at the moment.
To be honest with you...one of his albums was scrapped before it was released. I remember he appeared on the radio & gave a sample of the track it was SOOOOOOOOOOOO BADDDDDDDDD....i cannot stress how terrible it was. (think shot the dog but 1000 x worse!) His last album did ok but it was definately in a different direction. He didnt really have any hints so i dont think i would mind him touring with queen!
What I meant was whenever he is willing to "play ball" he will make a come back... he is trying new stuff and being an artist in that respect. I really don't think he cares about being at the top of the heap with the main stream artist if that means he can't do the music he wants to do or else he would be hiring song writers to create his next big come back (as solo artist do). I think he is hoping people dig his new style so he can make his comeback the way he wants to and have the creative freedom he apparently is indulging in.
Personally I want him to stay FAR AWAY from recording/playing with Queen as his voice comes close to Freddie's and that would be truly disrespectful and an obvious attempt to replace Freddie. Paul Rogers is cool because he sounds nothing like Freddie (nor acts like Freddie).
Far away eh! That record he played on the radio was him trying to have creative freedom & it wasnt good i tell you!
