I liked how he came out and told the truth about AIDS. He didn't hide it and I guess he was pretty frank in his comments.

what makes me laugh is the glass is almost as big as his head!
I so agree with that statement! My husband and I argue over that all the time, it's not Journey without Steve Perry! I'm also a HUGE Queen fan. I want to go to England some day just to go see his house! I became a fan due to Wayne's World and it was around the time Freddie died. I really feel I missed out on seeing an awesome band. Why couldn't I have been born 10 years sooner!
I haven't read all 506 messages in this thread and nor to I expect someone to read my 507th one here, but I had to add my 2 cents about freddie Mercury. I am of firm belief that the world quite possibly lost the most amazing male vocal talent of all time when Freddie died. To think that his wonderous voice box has been cremated and we will no longer hear (minus recordings) the sounds that man was capable of producing makes me very sad. VERY sad.
The End.
Collector's plates:
The first doll is pretty cool... I don't care for the second one at all. Here's a link for the plates:

We both had parallel lives in 1992... Waynes World got me into them and I too wish I was born 10 years prior. Actually going to see a tribute band next Tuesday (4/8) so I can once again be reminded how much Freddie is missed.
Yeah, I'm just grateful there are so many recordings to listen to. Imagine if they only recorded like 2 or 3 albums and then he died? damn that would have been even more tragic.
This made me laugh on ebay
just look at the title!

oh man... that is very scary and yet slightly fascinating.
btw, saw "Gary Mullen & the works" last night. Awesome is all I can say, never in my wildest dreams did I think a man could get remotely close to Freddie on stage. He practically nailed every single note with the same power and charisma... highly recommend them.
Wow - that indeed is a glowing review! Is your voice sore from singing along?
Would you see him again?
no... but my legs are from standing the whole time. I was actually right up front and had to fight off some annoying guys who all wanted to touch "Freddie". I don't think they realized it wasn't Freddie... kinda sad. Anyway, I would see them again but many years from now... in the end I can always pop on a Queen concert and see the real thing, I would feel a bit saddened to constantly go see an imitation.
So your telling me that you didnt throw your pants at him? People were serioulsly trying to touch him? How sad they must have felt when freddie died - sad that they are kind of star struck groupies that want to touch an imitation. I had a friend who was like that - she obsessed over john lennon & went to see the Bootleg Beatles so many many times that I think the band began to recognise her!
yeah I mean if you closed your eyes, or watched him from your peripheral vision you can fool yourself into thinking Freddie is on the stage... but when he is right in front of you with his sweat dripping everywhere and bad toupee I really had no desire to slap his hand. People were bum rushing the stage towards the end of "We Are The Champions" extending their hands to be slapped. The guy must go home and think "what a bunch of whack jobs".
here is the singers bio...
Gary Mullen has been a lifelong Queen fan and has always been a keen singer. His love of singing led to him joining a couple of local bands where he cut his teeth playing live at various clubs around the country. Being a big karaoke fan he found much enjoyment in visiting The Horseshoe Bar in Glasgow where his uncanny performance of Queen songs wowed the crowd.
Gary's wife and mother secretly sent away an application to Stars in their Eyes and after an audition Gary was offered a place in the heats. Gary then went on to become winner of Stars In Their Eyes 2000 as Freddie Mercury. Gary polled 864,838 votes in the Stars In Their Eyes Live Grand Final, more than double the runner up and an all time record number of votes ever cast for an artiste on this TV show.
Gary Mullen and his live band The Works have gained recognition in New Zealand, Germany and Holland as well as the UK and are going from strength to strength. Gary says "I am so greatful to all the people that have helped us to get where we are today and long may it continue".
here is an interview/performance.
and here is something I found by accident.
