What a horrible way to go, with the two people whose protection and safety he was most concerned for: wife and daughter, and the daughter having just celebrated a birthday. According to friend and experienced pilot who for years owned a small plane and had access to NTSB and FAA crash reports, majority of those disasters are due to pilot error.
