Mike Berry, actor and singer (Are You Being Served)

He was the last surviving major cast member of Are You Being Served? Mike's character "Mister Spooner" was brought in to replace Trevor Bannister, who left the series. The last member of the "original" cast was Nicholas Smith aka "Mister Rumbold" who died in 2015. Mike also had a considerable music career.

From AYBS Penny Irving (Young Mister Grace's secretary Miss Bakewell) and Vivienne Johnson (the Nurse) are still alive. Possibly Doremy Vernon (the Canteen manageress) is still alive also. Jeffrey Holland and Michael Knowles are still alive, they were customers in several episodes.

I remember from a YouTube documentary about the AYBS series that Mike said was very happy at being hired for the series, but after looking at the scripts he understood why Trevor left and he felt the quality of the scripts had gone down.

I thought he was good and held his own with the AYBS veterans. I don't remember the last episodes, but it explains why he wasn't on Grace & Favour aka Are You Being Served? Again! RIP Mike.
