    i loved his solo stuff. as a fellow canadian, it's so weird a canadian wrote the lyrics to "the night they drove old dixie down".

    I read that he wrote that for Levon.
    Yeah - I liked the solo stuff too, from American Roulette in the 80's to How To Become Clairvoyant in the mid 2000's.

    Another favorite from Robertson with The Band.
    With this one, we're treated to alternating vocals by Levon Helm, Rick Danko and Richard Manuel, with all harmonizing on the chorus:
