She was definitely a trailblazer in the early days as a reporter and anchor. I was never a fan of her celebrity interviews or her time on The View which I found cringe worthy at best. RIP.
Do not regret growing older it is a privilege denied to many
Not really a surprise. Quite a few sites reported she would more than likely pass before the year was out.
I might be wrong but I don't think it's ever been offiicially confirmed as dementia but several friends have made the claim that is what she suffered from and as someone whose relative went through it, I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.
I am old enough to recall her and Hugh Downs hosting 20/20. She certainly paved the way for women journalists. May Ms. Walters rest in peace.
I remember getting up to watch her on the Today Show before school when I was but a wee lass. It was odd even to a child seeing a female anchor. Never really interested in her celeb interviews or The View, though I preferred her over Whoopi any day of the week. I did watch 20/20 a few times.
Rest in peace Barbara.
