This is a shock. What a fantastic actor he was, from the Bond films and Harry Potter to Cracker. One of the best. RIP Robbie.

That it is. I am genuinely surprised at how upset this has made me. I grew up watching him on TV and on the big screen. While many automatically think of Hagrid or Cracker when he is mentioned, his roles were so diverse and no matter what he did..TV, Movies, Comedy, Drama...he was great at it. He even did a few true crime series that he got props for.

I knew he wasn't in the greatest of health and had resorted to using a wheelchair because of osteoarthritis but....it reminds me of when Robin Williams and Rik Mayall died. No one was expecting it and it honestly grabbed the rug out from under everyone. To this day Robin & Rik are missed because of how loved they were by everyone and it will be the same with Robbie.

    R.I.P.

I will watch something with him tonight. He was an amazing actor who could play as they say "everyman" and own it.

COD has been released and it was multiple organ failure. Other things mentioned on the death certificate were sepsis, lower respiratory tract infection, Type 2 diabetes, heart block and obesity. This tallies with the stories about him being really ill for a while but managing to keep it out of the media.

I liked Robbie a great deal. Obesity and diabetes will do that to anyone. (sigh)
