So sad to see the image above and realize that Jean would be dead soon afterward. Tried researching to find the exact date this photo was taken, it may be 2/1/37.
With the death of Marsha, all of the people in the photo below are dead. Marsha is in the third row; find Van Johnson and she's two people over to our right. The MGM star Roster of 1943. Some notable absentees are Gable (off to war), Judy Garland, Lana Turner, Charles Laughton and Margaret O'Brien. The child actor here, Jackie "Butch" Jenkins, died in 2001. There are several published versions of this photo; I chose this one because of its clarity and because everyone is paying attention lol. The shot that's generally better-known has Powell and Beery (both costars of Louise Brooks, incidentally) in conversation, looking towards each other. The first woman on the left in the fifth row is Blanche Ring, who also appeared with Louise Brooks (in The Old Army Game). Ring was the aunt of Louise's first husband Eddie Sutherland. Yes, I know I'm rambling but photos like this have so much history to the people in them and who they worked with, it's like a version of the Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon game.
