I loved the Monkee's. I was just watching their last concert of this tour the other day. I noted to my wife that Mike didn't look like he was getting around very well.

Here we come, walkin’ down the street.
we get the funniest looks from, ev’ry one we meet.
    hey, hey, we’re the monkees
and people say we monkey around.
    but we’re too busy singing
    to put anybody down.
We go wherever we want to, do what we like to do
we don’t have time to get restless, there’s always something new.
    hey, hey, we’re the monkees
and people say we monkey around.
    but we’re too busy singing
    to put anybody down.
We’re just tryin’ to be friendly, come and watch us sing and play,
we’re the young gneration, and we’ve got something to say.
Any time, or anywhere, just look over your shoulder guess who’ll be standing there

Well, I feel that this is totally my fault. I was just thinking the other day how there were two Beatles left and two Monkees left. Now only one Monkee left. I need to stop thinking about people. Just won't be the same watching the Monkees. Mike was always my crush when I was a toddler. I think it was because he wore a hat.
The reason a dog has so many friends is because he wags his tail instead of his tongue.

The Monkees were pretty cool back in the day. I still love Last Train To Clarksville. RIP Michael.
Today you could be standing next to someone who is trying their best not to fall apart. So whatever you do today, do it with kindness.

What about his shady assistant when he was
on tour? ( and his sudden death)

The other Monkees indicated Mike was difficult to get along with and sometimes created situations which might have easily been overlooked. I think he was probably very self-focused, and let his colleagues down a bit by being rather aloof, independent and wealthy. Seems the others all blew their earnings, but he managed to parley his earnings and inheritance into bigger money still. Rather sorry he couldn't stay with one wife. Let's see, in the cast of the Monkees, Mickey was the funny one, Davy was the cute Brit, Peter was the dumb one, and Mike was the mature one. Totally improbable program about four kids ina band, living in a California beach house.
    Dumb Americans ate it up!

Dumb American's? It was targeted towards kids and teenagers. Yeah, I liked the show as a 5-8 year old. That's dumb? They remained popular because the songs really were good and nostalgia. Not sure where the "dumb" comes in.
