I remember watching him in "The Sound of Music" and thinking that he was such a handsome man.

A brilliant actor and a real gentleman. His performance in Remember as a Holocaust survivor with dementia is heartbreaking. RIP Sir.

I read that he did not enjoy filming "The Sound of Music;" however, the part of him "singing" Edelweiss gets me. Even though his voice was dubbed, the emotion that is shown for his country during that song really brought me to tears as an adult.

What I admired most was his incredible range: he could convincingly play the most upright good guy or the creepiest sicko equally well. Guilty pleasure: Plummer as a sociopathic killer in The Silent Partner. RIP, good sir.

So true, I guess that is what a great actor/actress is all about.
