Brian Dennehy, the winner of two Tonys in a career that also spanned films including “Tommy Boy,” “First Blood” and “Cocoon,” and television, died on Wednesday night in New Haven, Conn. He was 81.“It is with heavy hearts we announce that our father, Brian passed away last night from natural causes, not Covid-related. Larger than life, generous to a fault, a proud and devoted father and grandfather, he will be missed by his wife Jennifer, family and many friends,” his daughter Elizabeth Dennehy tweeted on Thursday.
His agency ICM also confirmed the news, which TMZ was first to report.

Great actor, always a commanding presence in all his work. RIP Brian.
Today you could be standing next to someone who is trying their best not to fall apart. So whatever you do today, do it with kindness.

I once sat front-row in Chicago (either the Goodman or Steppenwolf Theater) as he portrayed Willy Loman in “Death of a Salesman”. Most definitely a commanding presence.

I’m tired to the death. The flute is fading away...

It got cut off because admin decided years ago that posting that someone is dead in the dead sections is redundant. Therefore, the number of characters allowed per title was shortened.

MirrorDimly, I saw him portray Willie Loman on Masterpiece Theater some years ago. It could've been that very performance. I would've loved to have seen it in person like you did.

Oh, gotcha. Sorry, I don't post here as much as I used to, thanks for fixing the title.
