I can't for the life of me remember which one it was on. I've seen a bunch of them. I still think it may have been on one of the segments of the 'Death Scenes' series.

I think we decided it wasn't on that version of FAD. We think it may have been deleted from all of the American real death series. We were checking out some foriegn angles. Have at it though...we could have missed something.

Things have changed so much, and I've been around since water. When I was a sportscaster, you could almost count the players as buddies because they trusted everyone and weren't afraid to chat with anyone," says Andrea Kirby, a sportscaster-turned-media coach. There weren't so many media and (the players) seemed to know what to expect. They were much more open, but there wasn't any reason not to be."
Kirby began working with sports teams in 1985 and works now with ESPN's jocks-turned-journalists. She says there's never been a strong understanding among the athletes of what the media's job is. The players also "are protected, to their detriment," by coaches and management, she says, fostering hostility to inquiries from the outside.
"They didn't understand the media's intent. Most of them assumed you only wanted controversy and nothing else," Kirby says. "And that if there was one bad guy in the media, they were all bad."
And yet the path to the world outside the game runs right through those bad old reporters. Learning to spar with them, to feed them a story, is a talent in its own right.
"You can take all of these skills out into the world. If you don't have them, you're not going to get hired for anything productive when you can't play the game anymore," Kirby says.

Anyone think this is the same Andrea Kirby that was C C's best friend at the station?
I told my lawyer he's better step it up or we would both end up on an episode of "SNAPPED"

Mike.... probably saw how this thread derailed earlier and got scared off. A certain somebody was talking about lawsuits and the like, and that was probably enough.

Plus I've never seen the footage so I wouldn't have a clue what to look for.
I don't actually watch that type of movies anymore. I use to though and luckily I never saw anything with children. I always fast forwarded through the animal stuff too. I don't have the stomach for that type of stuff anymore. I'm pushing 40 I've seen all of that stuff I need to.

I not sure if you noticed but if you watch the 2 youtube clips you will see the bloody suicide note and the black and white pic of someone standing at the news desk looking down. But thats all that is shown really. I wasn't clear on whether you are saying you still haven't seen it or you had not seen it up until now.

I read the entire article posted by baroque1. I've read it before but.... did anybody think it was odd that she told her Mom to leave the dog out, because she would be back at 10:45? Maybe, she had considered doing it, and when the shootout footage wouldn't roll it sent her over the edge? It said in the article she normally got pissed when that type of thing happened. That really makes me wonder.....she was unstable and sometimes the smallest thing will set a person like that off. At least she didn't shoot somebody else.

I did several intense searches tonight and her name popped up on several foreign sites. By searching "Christine Chubbuck" VHS DEATH in google I pulled up some pretty obscure hits...mostly forum chatter. There is one odd Korean site that I tried to open, but couldn't...anybody see that one? The footage is probably on something more bootleg or obscure than a Japanese issue (unless it's a black-market bootleg type thing). It was probably put on some odd Death tape in Korea, India, Pakistan or Turkey...IF it does in fact exist on a foreign compilation.

Sallie Quinn must be reached...she's seen it and knows stuff...

I read somewhere that Christine baked George Peter Ryan a cake or something (she was actually planning to work him slowly)...she even mentioned this to her friend Andrea Kirby over dinner.

Little did Christine know that Andrea was "pushin' the tush" into George Peter during after hours...

...Sure this played with CC's mind...sure this played a major part in her "decision" to exit with "blood and guts."

Zazzle shirts may be a little high, but the quality is amazing. My sons make shirts frequently, and they are better than what you can get in stores.

Back OT: She had a lovely voice. I believe she could've been a success. WHat is with the tragic newswomen?

Hi guys -- just a quick update so ya all don't think I disappeared. My mother's got a medical emergency in NJ (I'm in NC) and needs surgery -- so family things have been a bit dicey the last couple of days.

As far as the search for the "grail" -- I'm giving my contact until the end of the week and if I don't hear from her -- I'll drop her a line and see where we are in the hunt.

As far as the posts since I was last on -- I'm not concerned about lawsuits, but Scott's site is always a consideration. He does such a fantastic job with FAD and I certainly don't want any problems for him. However, handled properly, I don't see how he or the site would be impacted so long as nothing "illegal" is posted here.

Anyway, sincerely wish I had more to share at this point, but I don't. It's a waiting game for us all ....

    P.S. I am very much a "she" -- not a "he".

I am wondering if it's going to be worth it in the end.. You know what I mean. I hope we're not all putting a shit load of hype into it and it's not going to be worth it.

That might sound really mean/weird, I don't know if I make sense at all.

Wow !!! It looks like you guys have been busy....

Mike.....are you really gonna buy one of those shirts? Great idea about posting about it on foriegn sites. ^5

Seagorath... great job and I truly believe that it was/is on a bootlegged tape.

alicat.... thanks for the update. Sorry your Mom has a medical emergency. Hope she gets feeling better soon. Don't worry about the lawsuit angle. We're all too smart to cause any problems for anybody.

Michelle... I think the big thrill is finding it more than anything. It isn't gory at all,and happens so fast if you blink your eye you miss it. LOL!!!

Everybody keep up the good work!!! I've noticed everybody on this thread has had something to add. Hopefully, the goal which we hope to achive can be reached.

Just wanted to give you all my support I read this post religiously. You are all fantastic at searching out obsure websites. I would like to contribute, but alas I have nothing to add. I thought I was a smartie and looked up CC bittorrent hoping someone was floating cc's suicide out there. I actually got three hits and about had a heart attack.
When I downloaded them they were all bogus
I hate when people post fake BT's
anyway. Good Luck, I'll keep looking out.

Thanks stay-zee hopefully we'll find something soon. I've been suckered by several links they say they are the actual footage. That sucks !!! If you find anything... even if it seems like nothing post it anyway, and we'll check it out. Happy hunting

Theres a site called Demonoid that my b/f uses for all his downloads, only problem is you have to be invited to be a member of it to look and download stuff. He's in bed now and I dont know his log in details for it. If anyone else is a member of there maybe they could take a look.

I keep reading and hoping! It is worth it to me to see it because this was a major, major event in terms of being one of the first public suicides - especially in this manner.

Every time I pass a video store, i have to check out the Gorn section to see if there might be a tape. Everyone is doing such and amazing job on the internet, i figured I'd try the libraries and video stores to see if my chance there is an article, photo or an old foreign copy of Traces/faces of Death...

Poor kitten, I watched a 2 pt. "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" doc about Christine Chubbuck when I googled her name. It was very interesting. It included some stuff about the movie The Network (which I never saw).

It was touching to hear people talk about her and how much a lovely person she was. And to hear the man say he was sitting at the desk cleaning up her blood when he realized he was crying.. how heartwreching that must of been.
