It says on the web site that Bizarre Deaths is not in print anymore. So, doesn't that mean that you can't buy it off that site?

This could be the post that leads to it being found. Seems like the whole tide of this thread changed with this post.

I just want to thank Michael555 and DexterKitty for the indescribable time and energy they are putting into this. I really appreciate it. Keep up the wonderful effort.

The tape is out of print means it's not being reproduced any longer, and the number of the tapes for sale is limited. It may actually be out of print,or it could be a marketing ploy. I don't want to get side tracked on this tape only. There are hundreds of real death documenteries out there. I've looked at a lot of stuff today, and I think there's potential for the footage to be found. You know what they say.... It ain't over till the fat lady sings...well.....I'm not singing yet kids !!!!

Are there any "current" photos of WXLT (Sarasota) floating around the web? Is there a way to view it on Google Maps?...now that would be cool. Also, did anybody ever reach Sally Quinn?...because she actually viewed the footage and could explain where she saw it — she obviously viewed a "taped" version of the "event"...

And one more thing — When is that "other dude" gonna view that Bizarre Deaths video??!!

  4. #704
    DexterKitty Guest
If I remember right somebody has already contacted Ms. Quinn. I could be wrong on that though. I haven't seen Mike on here tonight so, he may be busy. It could take a few days for that guy to get back with Mike. Just a waiting game now. I'm still looking at other material. *fingers crossed*

Don't give up hope Mike !!! There are a lot of real death documenteries out there. I've been looking at a bunch of them today. Even checking out some foriegn movies.

Ack snuff stuff no thanks. I can't even watch 8mm when it comes on tv. Once was more than enough.

I don't like any type of movie where people are being murdered.I saw one of the Iraqi beheading videos. That was enough trauma for me.Accidents caught on tape, and suicides don't really bother me.

I wondered if Toni was running the site still. So, whoever told you that may not have even viewed the tape? Wow !!! Maybe, you'll hear something directly from Toni?

Another member, TheMrs., said that it may be known as "Junk" there in Japan. Have you ever heard of it? Or do you know of any shows like it that still can be bought or obtained? Specifically with Christine Chubbucks suicide on it.
Haro! Ok, found the Junk set. The link below is to an auction that's already closed, but there are 2 more sets up for bidding. Both start at $70/$80 each, but as of yet there are no bidders.

None of the pictures show the contents clearly enough for me to see whether CB's scene is included.

    http://page18.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/j...w37283292#desc

I've come across discussions of CB's suicide on a couple of gore sites here, but FFS, some of the sites here make Ogrish et al look like the Donna Reed show. Freaks here really are hardcore. *blech*

but those sites all echo that no footage exists...which is strange, since the freaks on those sites surely know about the existence of the 'Junk' series...I will ask the folks selling the stuff (what do you call them? what's the opposite of 'bidder'? 'person putting stuff out there'? WTF, I thought English was my native language eh??) and then place an order!

BUT! these are Japan region DVDs, folks. You nice people have region-free players?

    Hi, Chris…
I’m such a big fan of your site, and your post about Chris Chubbuck brought back a lot of memories.
Chris and i were co-workers at WXLT during those days and besides her delightful sense of humor, i remember that she was always in the newsroom when i got there and she was always there when i left.
    She was a good kid.
    Take care of yourself, bud…

Thanks HereKittyKitty for checking. I was hoping maybe you would have better luck since other countries wouldn't have to follow the court order but maybe I was wrong. Thanks again for looking.

    Trying a Different Route ...

I, like everyone else, am dying to get my hands (eyes ...) on the footage. After reading all the posts, I came to the realization that probably the quickest way to find a copy would be to go through law enforcement, rather than trying to find the clip on foreign "death" tapes.

I just got off the phone with a contact I have who is a crime scene photographer in a major city who has access to the training tapes used by her department. She told me that the old VHS tapes were transferred to DVD several years ago, and if they have Chris' footage -- she would copy it to her laptop and then e-mail the segment to me. She's heading into work at 9:00 p.m. and told me she'd look for the footage tonight.

I promised her that I would not post the footage if I got it (she's concerned about losing her job) -- so if I'm successful (GOD I HOPE I AM!!!!) -- we're going to have to share it "offline". I'll let you know as soon as I hear from her ....

Lets keep our fingers crossed. Thanks for checking. The problem is I don't have a direct link to that part of law enforcement to ask. Thanks again.

That would be amazing! And If you're able to obtain it, I truly believe no real CC fan from FAD would break your trust.

And will we be charged to share it offline? What major city are we talking about here? If it isn't in FL... I can't imagine a copy of it (the training video) would be in ..oh....say... CA. Not being a downer here.... just asking a few questions.

I think it's safe to say we'll always have doubts about the footage surfacing...until it does of course, but we can still dream!

Yep...it's worth a shot. As I said many many times...we should look at all possible leads. I just hope everybody doesn't get their hopes up too much, and it shouldn't become a money issue if it is found.

My contact works for a major city in MA. I don't mean to be cryptic -- I just want to protect my source. And NO -- I would NEVER charge fellow hags! That's just wrong ....

The Chubbuck thread is actually what brought me to FAD. I was really impressed with the level of intellectual discussion of the members (versus the ususal OH LOOK AT THE BLOOD! people on other sites) is what made me join.

I had been a death hag for years -- but honestly didn't know that others shared my fascination with unsolved crimes, death scene photos, etc -- until I found this site. Just glad to be a member, share what I can, and participate.

Same here, ali. I knew that there were others out there, but I never knew how sincerely real and awfully nice they were until I found this forum. Welcome. And please never feel pressured to follow up on info if you're not comfortable with it.

Aw guys! Axl would never laugh at you. It'd probably be more of a snide smirk & slow chuckle.

I think it would be so interesting to be a crime scene photographer. I don't have the stomach for it. After watching First 48 I don't think I could stomach any part of the crime scene except maybe the paper work. No color photos.

Always glad to have new angles to look into guys. I have to admit... I do like the blood and gore sites. That's where you see a lot of crime scene photos. The reason why I joined DR was to check to see if they had anything on Christine Chubbuck. Celebrity and high profile deaths facinate me. Anytime I can get an actual visual to go along with a story, it just really does it for me for some reason. I've spent countless hours trying to find pictures to go with death stories I've heard about. It's almost an obsession for me.

I wouldn't have the stomach for it either. I can look at most gross stuff, but occasionally it's with both hands on my face peeking between my fingers with one eye closed.

Makes me think of Dexter. I miss Dexter. And I nearly crumbled from shock when he married his TV sister...

Or, when there is a discussion on censoring the internet, and Nikki Catsouras' family trying to ban her death photos, and someone says "For God's sake, how bad can they be?" and you say (again, proudly) "Actually, they are pretty fucking bad" and launch into a description of said photos, with the other people demanding to know how did you ever find that....

Or, dropping Christine Chubbuck's name casually into a group of LE officers to see if anyone nibbles.... (They didn't)
