    Jean Seberg

Hers is a tragic tale with FBI conspiracy theories, a dodgy husband, drugs, suicide attempts, guilt. I can't go into it all but I recommend you take a look: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jean_Seberg
1938-1979 Known for roles in Saint Joan (a fireball hit her full in the face during the final scene and is shown in the film), A bout de souffle, Paint your wagon and for her haircut "The Seberg" which had women in the 60s trying to look like elves.

we'll never know what really happened to her.
One theory is that she committed suicide, took an overdose of alcohol and pills because she a left a note for his son. She had been very depressed since her baby girl died only two days after being born, in 1970.

Like Bonjour Tristesse (perhaps because I like the book...) Can't freaking stand Breathless...yet we have a copy of it. Anyone who can play DVDs in our region or who has a region-free DVD player that wants it, let me know...I'll be glad to send it to you free (if you pay for postage!)

I just LOVE Bonjour, Tristesse. She was such a beautiful woman.
Her last days were truly sad. I really believe that she killed herself.

Hey firegilnotguns, are you serious? If so, I'd be interested in your copy of Breathless =]

Nichole Simpson looked like her. I was slightly confused about the child that died. She was married to one guy and the baby was someone elses? She was married to 3 guys at the sametime if the dates are right? She was a busy girl.

Lovely and tortured just how we like them! The beautiful actresses are always more interesting if they are anguished and deep!

The B grade celebs who are just stupid and indulgent well now thats another story....!

I read that she had broken up from Romain Gary for a few months when she conceived the baby with a Latin American student. She was still married to Gary and afterwards they got back together. I think that the FBI allegations hit home too hard because they had accidentally nearly worked out the truth, this was part of the reason it gave her such a shock that she lost the baby.

I could be wrong but I think she was only married to two men at the same time. Berry and Hasni, who was abusive towards her. Don't know what she was thinking then or if she was out of her mind.

GOD! So beautiful.....wholesome Iowa girl corrupted by showbiz, decadent old Europe and the radical left.....at least that was the theme of the book I read.....

Whatever happened to Diego, her son with Gary?

    Lovely indeed.

Some of those pics make me think of Audrey Hepburn; maybe it's the hair; though Audrey did not have a slightly wild look in her eyes.

She wasn't mad as a hatter. She was very fragile. One of those airy fairy girls who carry spiders outside. She should have been a good actress. It was Preminger who really fucked up her acting. He hired her for Saint Joan and told her not to take acting lessons. He wanted "her". Of course she had no idea how to act in a movie and he berated and insultedher through the whole filming. Then as some twisted revenge for ruining his movie (she is awful) he hired her for Bonjour Tristesse and by the time that was over her confidence was gone.

At the funeral service, Seberg had the baby lying in state in a glasstop coffin to show the world that she had not been pregnant by a Black Panther, as the LA Times alleged. Declassified FBI memos prove that Hoover even directed the columnist to delay publicizing the smear until Seberg's seventh month, when it would be obvious to everyone she was expecting. Evil, evil people.
