Although she is mentioned in other threads I felt she should have her own. Jean was the author of Edie: An American Girl, about the life of Edie Sedgwick, socialite and Warhol superstar. I just finished reading her last published work West Of Eden: An American Place which tells the story of five California families including her own. A fascinating read ! Her father was Jules Stein who was the founder of The Music Corporation Of America MCA. She committed suicide by jumping from the same building as Gloria Vanderbilt's son Carter Cooper, some articles on her say it was the same apartment, Gloria had sold her the duplex ! It's really weird that it was the same apartment that someone else killed themselves in, kind of makes you wonder about the apartment.

Jumping out of tall buildings seems to be preferred method in the Big Apple. Stein, a Vanderbilt, Susannah McCorkle, that chiropractor and his wife a few weeks ago. Guess it's the first method that comes to mind when you live there.
