RIP...one of the best ever
To my Father. Even though you have crossed the plane, you will always be with me.
You were not just my Father, but my hero. My life has been a poor attempt to be like you
You taught me music, vocals, and how to fight. I can only hope I am half the man you are
When I close my eyes I can see you. And finally, Thank you Dad. for everything.

his comedy wasn't my kind of tea, but still, he was in the biz a long time. RIP
A true legend and a nice guy. RIP Don Rickles.
After learning yesterday he was in pretty bad shape, not surprised at all. I remember there were a couple of episodes of "Mad Men" that had a character similar to Don Rickles, it was relatively new back in the 60's, and Don made his career off of "Insult Comedy". I can see where a lot of folks didn't like that kind of humor, I remember not liking him at first, but when I YouTube the Dean Martin roasts he really was funny. Obviously he was still going strong up to the very end. RIP
By my troth, I care not; a man can die but once; we owe God a death.... He that dies this year is quit for the next.

Hated to see this thread. Wanted him to live forever. Highly recommend the documentary that his son did on him "Mr. Warmth". His guest appearances on Johnny Carson are legendary and he really was a good actor. RIP😔
R.I.P.
I will always remember him going on Howard Stern where Howard and Artie stood up the entire time out of respect
RIP..............................................
Sad to lose one of the last great people of Comed, if not THE last. Who is left? He was part of an entourage of people that made Johnny Carson such a great and classic show to watch. R.I.P. Mr. Warmth.
He was such a treasure. I was always happy when he was on Carson during school breaks because my parents would let me stay up late to watch him.

Why isn't this one in the Actor & Actresses thread - Don was a great actor: Loved him in CPO Sharkey (on TV) as well as Casino, Kelly's Heroes and all the Frankie & Annette movies. The Johnny Carson appearances and Dean Martin Roasts were brilliant.
His Malibu beach house is up for sale at $7.9 million - nice place

I didn't realize he had died, I thought he passed away a long time ago. That Stern clip was great, thanks Dude! His comedy wasn't my thing but he has made me laugh and he seemed like a really humble and nice guy in that clip, actually, kind of reminds me of Howard and what I like about him, actually, when you get those glimpses of the real person behind the persona.
I didn't find him particularly funny, relying on the same stock lines for his insults, and nice in private does not excuse being an A.H. before crowds, but he was less offensive than Stern who'd bring women in the studio to sit on Sybians or men to parade their (literally) micro-penises.
