    Marvin Kaplan

O.K. so to know who he was you probably have to have some years behind you. Best remembered by me for being in one of my best loved movies of all time, "It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World". He was in one of the more memorably scenes. Where Jonathan Winters trashes the gas station.

Possibly his last or one of his last major interviews was on the Gilbert Gottfried podcast of June 27

Cool. Thanks for that. They noted he was one of the last remaining actors of Mad World which got me wondering..........

I figured Sylvesters girlfriend (Barrie Chase) was still alive. She is but I was surprised how old she is. I figured 23-24 in the movie. Born in 1933. I have to admit, her dance is my favorite part of the movie.

He was a good subject on the show, considering his age, but Gottfried is the guy who got the movie The Aristocrats made, so you may not want to listen with mom or your aunt present, because he uses the same language heard in that movie.

Oh, yes. But back to Kaplan, he was in EVERYTHING for decades. The last time I remember seeing him was in an EP of "ER," where he played the father of a (pro wrestler) Goldberg-type patient.

With Beth Howland's ( Vera ) somewhat recent death and now Henry one does wonder who will be next to pass away from ALICE since well the death comes in 3s" thing. I wouldn't be surprised if Linda Lavin and Polly Holiday are thinking about it right now.

The last interview he gave is available for listening on Gilbert Gottfried's podcast. Marvin mentioned that he was in "Teacher's Pet" and accidentally opened the door to Gable's dressing room and saw 'The King' without his dentures; he started laughing, with of course pissed Gable off.
