As a youth I had the privilege of attending his hockey school - he taught me how to skate and shoot the puck and filled my 7 year old self with confidence. Gordie was one of the nicest people on the planet, what all sports stars should hope to be. He signed every autograph and shook everybody's hand. He went out of his way to make you feel special! R.I.P.

I watched an interview with him, a real gentleman. One hell of a player, the best. RIP Sir.

So that is why he is 99.
