    RIP good sir.
To my Father. Even though you have crossed the plane, you will always be with me.
You were not just my Father, but my hero. My life has been a poor attempt to be like you
You taught me music, vocals, and how to fight. I can only hope I am half the man you are
When I close my eyes I can see you. And finally, Thank you Dad. for everything.

I was sorry to see this. I always thought that he was quite funny.

Wow! The older well known celebrities are dropping fast and hard!
For some reason I always got him confused with David Brenner...

No. According to reports, he was at home when this happened and HE was the one that made the 911 call.

It said he didn't get to finish the call. I wonder if they'll release the recording of it. That will sure be an interesting one.

I was out of the house for 3 hours come back home and find this. 66 is not old. It had to be one of those fast acting killers. An aneurism or an embolism. RIP.

Yeah, he should have dropped everything and just went to the ER. But some people don't. They have things to do, and, like my daddy, they think they need to shower first, and time runs out.

Agreed. It sounds to me like he had a "widowmaker" heart attack.

Known a few women who were like that too. My cousin was one. For a time she kept having really bad headaches but kept putting it off thinking it was just stress and nothing more. Unfortunately by the time she had went to the doctor they discovered brain cancer and it was too advanced for the doctors to really do anything. The cancer did end up killing her.

A friend's mother started hurting in her chest, but she didn't tell anyone, because she wanted to be present for the birth of another daughter's baby. The family found out and made her go to the doctor or ER. She ended up having a cardiac bypass.

He had just made a recent appearance on Jerry Seinfeld's "Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee", in which he revealed a diagnosis of hyperparathyroidism. Sadly, the episode is titled “It’s Great That Garry Shandling Is Still Alive”. It was the last time Jerry saw him.

I used to love It's Garry Shandling's Show" when I was a kid. I should see if Netflix has it. I never really got into the LSS, I should try that one again.

    RIP Garry.

I liked the tributes that Conan and Jimmy Fallon gave to him. I remember that crazy theme song from his show. He used to do the funniest stuff like stop the credits because he was in the middle of making a point. Does anyone remember him as a young comedian on the 1979 show "Make Me Laugh"?

Sometimes (oftentimes) men are just criminally casual about their health. I'm pointing the finger at myself too. He should have made a beeline for the ER when he was first sick. Now his family, friends and fans are missing him. Maybe it's hardwired in us? Not going to the doctor.
