She actually said, when asked how it felt watching him struggle, that it "Felt good!" I cannot imagine being a loved one of Viafore's and hearing that!
I don't think this case would've been easy to prosecute if not for her own words and actions. She allegedly tampered with his kayak while they were on a small island unbeknownst to him... Kind of clever, really! (Not saying "clever" means "good"... it doesn't.) But those quarter-million dollar life insurance policies will tell on ya every time.
I know there is no way I could stand there and watch someone drown and know I was responsible. It would be a TERRIBLE way to die, and to watch that, the desperation, the panic.... God no.
She's not the first I've seen treat jail like "summer camp!" When Jodi Arias was in county jail (Estrella, with Sheriff Joe) she pretty much acted as though it, too, was a sort of sleepover or something.... used to piss me off so much! She was allowed 9 hours of video visitation per day (in 15-minute increments) which mean 30+ different people to "visit" as well as $100 per week on sweets and such. She thrived in that place for the better part of her 7 year stay, God yes.
But just as Jodi is getting an eye-opener at Perryville Prison, this woman is in for a very rude awakening. I'm sure she thinks she'll be getting out soon... seems most of the "This is like camp!" people change their tune when "camp" is suddenly turned into Life Without Parole. Everybody wants to go home sometime... even from camp.
She has NO remorse whatsoever (that's apparent, anyway.) Anyone who can look someone in the eye knowing that in the next half hour they're going to DROWN because of you.... whoa! And to stand there and be "glad" when they're flailing in the water and (perhaps) realizing what you did... damn. Just damn. She should NEVER be free again, this woman is dangerous.
