Leatrice Joy Gilbert
The daughter of silent film stars Leatrice Joy and John Gilbert has passed away at the age of 90. While her own film appearances are few and mostly uncredited (according to IMDB), she is best-known for her remarkable biography of her father. Married twice, her sons John Fountain and Gideon Fountain are both actors. Hey, how many children of movie stars turn out well-adjusted ? Fortunately, she was one of them. I only learned of her death while checking-out this Dietrich website.

Thanks for posting, Dave. I always enjoy reading about connections to old Hollywood stars. Glad this lady had a long, good life. RIP

Eastman House has preserved some of the Technicolor tests for Gone With the Wind. FF to 16:58 to see Leatrice (as Carreen O'Hara) with Vivien Leigh and Evelyn Keyes, whose hair/wig resembles the blonde horror Judy Garland was forced to wear for her earlier Wizard of Oz scenes. Anyway, Leatrice has her father's chin along with some of her mom's features. For some reason, her costume reminds me of the sisters in Little Women. Makes me wistful to watch this and realize her father never lived to see her beyond childhood.
