    Val Kilmer for Governor?

    http://www.abqjournal.com/abqnews/in...=8591&Itemid=2

Oh, wait ... those comments in Rolling Stone about San Miguel County were out of context, right? Actor Val Kilmer, who lives in Pecos, N.M., is rumored to be interested in running for governor of New Mexico in 2010, according to KOB-TV's Stuart Dyson.
Stu must have picked up on politics blogger Heath Haussamen's item this week, which in turn linked to an item titled "Batman Forever" on Politico.com last Thursday.
A big stumbling block to any future run by the star of "Batman Forever" and "The Doors" (about another part-time New Mexico resident named Jim Morrison) and a bangup turn as Doc Holliday in "Tombstone" could be the remarks he may or may not have made about his home town of Pecos.
"A 2003 Rolling Stone article stirred controversy in New Mexico when it quoted Kilmer as saying he lives `in the homicidal capital of the Southwest' and that `80 percent of the people in my county (San Miguel) are drunk,'" Haussamen wrote.
Haussamen cited The Associated Press where Kilmer claimed he was misquoted and taken out of context.
According to Haussamen, Kilmer later dined with current Gov. Bill Richardson to try to smooth things over with angry New Mexicans., and Richardson called him ??a great New Mexican.?

I have never cared much for him. He is not a bad actor, just not one of my favorites. Can't really see him as a governor.

Val Kilmer is one of those actors, like Tom Cruise or Matthew McConaughey, who seemed fairly normal, but turned out to sort of crazy. I wouldn't vote for him, but hey, Arnold go elected.

    Val Kilmer

    http://www.tmz.com/2015/01/30/val-ki...roat-bleeding/

I thought he was hilarious in "Top Secret". (When my mother saw the movie, she took a disliking to him because he was sooo arrogant and self-absorbed. Well, hah-um, that was the character he was playing!?).
My thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family.

I always had a huge crush on him. I even sat through The Island of Dr. Moreau. So huge fan.

My favorite is Tombstone. He did such a good job. Hope he makes a full recovery.

He posted on his Facebook page that it's bull. He has had some problems but it's not any type of tumor, neither has he had any sort of operation.

I think Val was the best Batman/Bruce Wayne. At the very least one could understand his lines when he put on the suit. Bale sounded like he had laryngitis .

True dat. I thought he was really good in Thunderheart, and that scene in Heat, where he's coming home to Ashley Judd and she waves him off because the cops are there, the look on his face is heartbreaking.

He's been in a lot of crap movies, lately. And he definitely hasn't always made the best decisions with his personal life,

    exhibit A http://fantasyeverybodyhasone.blogsp...er-old-or.html

But he really is a good actor.

Ehh, for pure realism, I preferred Dennis Quaid's interpretation of Holiday in the Keven Costner movie "Wyatt Earp". Quaid lost weight for the role and he was made up pale, so his height made him look gaunt and pale as would a man back then racked with TB. Kilmer looked too healthy. But that's personal preference.

I'm going to wager a guess that Kilmer is saying he doesn't have cancer because he's doing what he can to stay employed. I'm kind of shocked that Michael Douglas would be bold enough to discuss his health issues in public without his permission.

To my Father. Even though you have crossed the plane, you will always be with me.
You were not just my Father, but my hero. My life has been a poor attempt to be like you
You taught me music, vocals, and how to fight. I can only hope I am half the man you are
When I close my eyes I can see you. And finally, Thank you Dad. for everything.

Don't know. Depends on what kind of smokes you're referring to. He might also have chewed. Acid reflux comes to mind. But sometimes these things crop up anyway. A family friend never smoked a day in her life yet she died of esophagus cancer.

He was pretty, indeed. He's also a fab actor whom Robert DeNiro and other A Listers say gets a bum rap as difficult. According to them, he simply wants to do his best just like they do. Apparently, some directors can't handle it when actors speak up when they feel their work is subpar instead of the director making that decision. DeNiro and Pacino say they were both labeled as difficult too early in their careers for the same reason.

Re his health, a direct quote from him in response to a TMZ published assumption:

In January 2015, Kilmer was hospitalized for what his representative said were tests for a possible tumor. Kilmer said on social media, "I have not had a tumor, or a tumor operations [sic], or any operation. I had a complication where the best way to receive care was to stay under the watchful eye of the UCLA ICU."

Still vague and could even be bullshit so he could still work. I'll poke around some more.

All I found was another article about Michael Douglas being misinformed about Val's health when he simply asked him for a referral to a specialist when he found a lump in his throat. He's always been a private dude though.

Regardless of what the media reports or what he is willing to reveal, I hope he is on the road to recovery from whatever is ailing him. I can't blame him for being private, in fact, that's how it should be in that kind of industry, they only care about what they can get out of you, and anything that would present a negative impact will kill a career. Teri Garr, who has MS can't get a job due to her illness, same with David Lander. He is being wise to keep his illness to himself...

Admits he had cancer, but says he has been healed in a Reddit Q&A

"A while ago, Michael Douglas claimed you had terminal cancer," a fan asked. "What was the story behind that?"

"He was probably trying to help me cause press probably asked where I was these days, and I did have a healing of cancer, but my tongue is still swollen altho healing all the time," the Kiss Kiss Bang Bang star answered. "Because I don't sound my normal self yet people think I may still be under the weather."
