I saw this too but wasn't sure if it was a hoax or for real :-(

RIP classy lady.....damn what a week this is turning into......okay who is number 3....they always come in threes
To my Father. Even though you have crossed the plane, you will always be with me.
You were not just my Father, but my hero. My life has been a poor attempt to be like you
You taught me music, vocals, and how to fight. I can only hope I am half the man you are
When I close my eyes I can see you. And finally, Thank you Dad. for everything.

    Here's looking at you kid.

TCM is sure enough scrambling now. In fact, Bacall was one of the TCM voices.

She had the most beautiful face in the world to me when she was a young woman. Used to page thru old Hollywood books and she was my favorite.

    RIP

Ugh. It's only Tuesday and the week has so far sucked with Robin and Lauren's deaths.

She was still beautiful for her age. RIP to one of Hollywood's classiest women.

How sad. Hopefully she's with Bogie now.

When ever I hear the name Bogart or her name, I always think of the lines in the song Key Largo: We had it all/just like Bogey and Bacall...

What a lousy week this has been and it's only Tuesday. This lady was the total package - talent, grace, beauty and killer smarts. Bogie must have whistled... (((sigh)))

I am old enough for this one to hit a little hard too. As MsDiva said, she was a Total Package. She could put the Slinky in a slinky dress. R.I.P. Lauren.

I'm going to watch The Big Sleep in just a few minutes. I love the dialogue in that movie, and Lauren was so freakin' gorgeous.

Thanks for all of the great movies, Ms. Bacall.

And the unfortunate individual would have to be fairly prominent to qualify, too... Maybe a different generation, to boot. <<shudders>>

I hope she went easy. 89 (or maybe older, you never know with those classic-era movie stars) seems a pretty good run (unless, of course, you're 88.)

I have a collection of Lauren Bacall DVD movies I bought at a video store a couple of years ago. Dark Passage with Bogey and Agnes Moorehead, Key Largo with Bogey again. Blood Alley with John Wayne and Designing Women. I remember her in Misery with James Caan and Kathy Bates. and I remember Lauren played Doris Duke in a CBS movie[ I think it was CBS] in 1999 with Richard Chamberlain as Doris' butler suspected of killing Doris. RIP to a legend.

What a screen presence. Always looked and carried herself like a WOMAN - even when she was only 19 years old.

She oozed smoldering sex appeal with all her clothes on. Even as she got older, she looked elegantly beautiful and always classy. Many young starlets today just don't have this magic she had. RIP Ms. Bacall.
