    Merry Christmas, Cigar (and all)

I must say, my eyes simply wouldn’t let me read that big block of text, so I don’t think I took in the message.

Not sending any hate your way, in fact I want to hear what you have to say, I think I just have trouble reading such large paragraphs without punctuation.

Hi Cigar - Welcome! I think that it is great that you do go and visit the memorial. Very dramatic to know that you had been inside of The Station, even though it wasn't the night of the tragedy. I find myself at a bit of a loss because I do like Great White's music, but I hate that they are part of such a terrible tragedy. We will never know what it would be like for you if you were there. All I know is that people say that no one came out the same person. <3

Someone left a comment on my youtube channel saying he'd been a friend of Jimmy Gooden. I looked Gooden up to remind myself of his details. Only to see that his wife died in 2014 and was buried in his grave. Then HER father died shortly thereafter and was buried in the adjacent grave!

Sorry don't know what happened - it disappeared first time i tried to fix the font . Here it is again easier to read - seperated and with punctuation , I was hopeless in school - a product of the North End Boston !!
    Cheers Don Bosco !!!

Hello everyone Merry Christmas ! to all
I was searching for any info on the upcoming anniversary for the station memorial and ran into this site.

I visit the site every year to pay my respects since i live in taunton ma now and ponder on what may have been if i attended this show at the time.

in 2003 i was living in near the new hampshire line i had heard that the band was doing a show in rhode island and planned on buying tix and going with a few friends.

i had seen a show there before the donnas & the distillers had played there some years earlier and i thought it was a great roadhouse style club to see a show and have a good time.

i ended up hearing about the show in bangor me. happening a few days earlier on the 18th at russ' club and between ease and timing we decided to go there instead.

when i heard about the station i shuddered to myself and prayed for those victims and families.

i visit the site ever since if not on the exact day then in the week of, i didn't know anyone that went but i just have a feeling i need to go.

i have since always kept aware of where i am and how to keep safe, i've been in alot of dives like that since seeing shows and it always enters my mind to keep my wits about me.

the paradise, hampton beach casino, ll busby's club, palladium, the z etc. they are all pretty similar.

i've read some of the past thread and the guys & gals here are doing a great job documenting this tragic event and making sure folks don't forget the station.
    thanks jimmy d

PS - we got there a little late for the show so not sure if they set off sparklers at the start but they did do it towards the end of the show and it looked alot like station except at russ' club i think it was bouncing off plywood with no issues

Another thing that came to me this weekend. When I was there at the station to see the donnas we stayed to last call, still alot of folks there and there was a bit of a jam thru those double doors.
And we were not in a hurry ! I can't imagine if we were. It would be total chaos !!

Hi all, bit of an xmas present, I have finished processing the slightly clearer video of the fire (red writing version). I tried to make further edits to the colour and brightness as well as just the clarity. I hope you like it, if anyone has any other media i will be happy to process it, or any pointers feel free to sent them.

Top tip - if you open in VLC media player, and invert the colours you can see the figures on the stage and their movements much clearer.

    Hi to all -

JXG - Thanks for your great film work. It's been very helpful, personally, see, because I've gone down a twisty rabbit hole for the last few weeks figuring out who exactly owned what vehicle in the Station's parking lot that night.

Have made some discoveries, especially while going frame-by-frame through the videos made by Butler, McLaughlin, and Best. (For the later two, go to Phase 3>go to Videos.)

    Here's one unrelated find:
You can actually catch Brian Butler in McLaughlin's (time-clocked) video at 11:20:39. And then, again, at 11:20:49 (until the momentary freeze). Butler is easy to spot thanks to his bright orange jacket, and he's near his WPRI-TV SUV in the Knight's Garage/Nissan lot.

Using the transformer's sparking as a timer, you know it's right at the point where Butler is trying to explain to "Tammy" why he's not gonna be home any time soon.

My New Year's resolution is to learn how to post photos here. My wife is a techie, so if I behave, I'll have some help if I get stuck.

-WineandKerosene - Good to see you back, and thanks for reminding us of why even the 404 capacity wasn't legally sound.

-Subarctican - Haven't had a chance yet to hear the Scott James interview you linked, but looking forward to it. Thank you.

Noelle - Welcome back and thanks for the strange tidbit about survivor Nancy Noyes and the volcano photo.

RodentLady - Thanks and Merry Xmas. And please use the cool-burning lights on your tree.

**Bye to all, and to all a good night.

Hi Billoween - it is good to be back. Everytime I watch that video, I want to know if that lady found her husband.

    Thanks Billoween,

I didn't know any of those folks because I wasn't living in Taunton at the time but I was aware there were Taunton people there after watching some of the videos of the fire newscasts

Not sure if Cathy still lives here now but I hope she's doing as well as possible

I did see that the cameraman B Butler grew up in Abington, Ma. which is near where I live now / I wonder what he is doing now and where he lives or works

That filming of the tragedy must be a hell of a conversation starter on his resume

    Happy 2021 everyone !! Jimmy D

    CigarDad/Jimmy D:
Sorry to say, Catherine Sagesta might have survived the fire, but she didn’t escape the other big nightclub we’re all trapped in—life—and she died of cancer on 2-18-08. She had been living in Middleboro, Massachusetts, and left two daughters, now 24 and 32.

Sorry to hear that B. I wonder if it had the similar effects 9/11 had on rescuers. The toxic smoke and ash some of those folks breathed in and rescuers that first got there were immersed in

that stuff must had really played hell with their health going forward. I never heard about it but I wonder if there was some sort of health fund similar to 9/11 rescuers health fund.

    Thanks JD

I actually managed to track down Brian Butler on Facebook a while back (won't post the link here but he is relatively easy to find and keeps most of his info publicly viewable). He continued to work for WPRI until 2014 and is now in the same line of work for a different news station.

Considering that he got sued and had his name dragged through the mud after the fire, I doubt he ever mentions his involvement in it.

In the hour-long interview with the Trial By Fire author that I posted in the previous page (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MOp4TTNFEOo), he talks about his interview with Brian Butler and how Butler had been vilified after the fire (starting around the 43:55 mark).

Thanks Sub - I guess you are right about that / he probably very reluctantly brings up that night ... I know I would not tread down that road unless I had too

I was thinking back to the night we saw them in Bangor Me. which was the 18th, 2 days before the Station gig / One of my buddies brought his camera and was taking shots

I'm going to reach out to him and see if he still has them and if any of them were of the fireworks they set off towards the end of the show

We miss the beginning of the show so I don't know if they had them to start but I figure they probably did / If he does have any shots I'll post them here for comparison to Station images

Someone will just have to let me know how to do it ( very un-tech kinda guy ) Happy 2021 !! to all Jimmy D

"I looked at it and I was, like holy shit, but um, I thought it was pretty small at the time, it was right off the bat I thought somebody was gonna to come up to put it out, I didn't think there'd be a problem, so I didn't want to - it concerned me but I didn't want to stop playing and get bitched out, like what the hell are you doing stopping the show and, that was my main thought, but then it start - nobody came up, it started gettin' bigger and then I saw Dan run up and try to throw water ... I saw, you know, the flame was just rapidly growing. I was like that isn't gonna do shit. I stopped playing before anybody in the band and I, and I ran out. Well, I got out of the cove and by the time I turned around that flame was up on, over the, getting over the ceiling, onto the ceiling and I heard the security guard, I didn't see him, but I heard him say, get the fuck out of here."

If Jack Russell did notice, it probably wasn't until fairly late. He obviously doesn't see it when he's on camera and seems oblivious to the several fans near the front that start pointing and waving and yelling just before Butler moves away, and in this picture which Adam Florio took several seconds after Butler moved away, Jack Russell and Mark Kendall are still seemingly oblivious to it.

As far as making an announcement goes, it surely would've helped a lot. However, I would personally put that responsibility on the security staff rather than Jack or anyone in the band. I doubt most musicians at any given show in a random city have any serious knowledge of the venue layout or how to initiate an evacuation, etc. They're just there to entertain people for the evening, anything safety/security related should be handled by appropriately trained venue staff... and of course that was just one of the countless shortcomings of the Station and its management.
This is just my little ol' humble opinion, but i know that dr. metal (michael gonsalves) was kind of the 'announcer' of the show that night. after introducing great white, he seemed to have gone either to the washrooms, or the back office. i really believe because he has that radio personality and is used to handling crowds at shows, he may have been able to direct some of the patrons through other exits, perhaps the kitchen side, or even made the bouncers by the stage aware that there was a fire.

    awful awful timing.

Thank you. Its not ideal, I messed up the very beginning and the audio I think is a little delayed from the original. But happy with the picture considering the source video it cleaned up quite well. Hopefully can help ID any of the remaining unknowns although I think on the 1st thread most were ID'ed?

Happy to have a go at any other versions people have. Hope everyone had a great Xmas/NYE

Happy New Year everyone! Let's hope to a better one.

Couple things I've been thinking about and wondering if anyone can enlighten me.

    1. Has anyone ever synced the alternate audio BB tape with a clearer video? The video that has audio different to most BB videos is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gx22...l=JackieCarson I believe this audio came from the camera's built in mic, not the attached mic that BB was also using. I'm not a huge techie so I don't have the software needed to do such a thing. If anyone's done it in the past (or would like to do so in future) please let me know. Perhaps someone more tech-minded than me would be able to sync this audio with the clearer footage we have now thanks to JXG999 (thanks JXG, it's certainly a big improvement).

    2. Does anyone know the names of patrons that sustained more serious injuries. I only know of a few victims names such as Joe Kinan, Gina Russo (basically anyone who took part in the web series), but I'd like to know the names of other patrons that were injured more seriously since I would assume these unlucky folks are some of the ones who were in the Station longer and would have more in depth witness statements or interviews I can find.

    3. Have there been any recorded suicides of those involved in the tragedy (dark I know). I ask because I'm writing an article about trauma in relation to depression and I'd like to include this event but can't seem to find all that much info.

    4. It's been said that flashover occurred at the 90 second mark (evident from the sounds of tables/chairs falling and the MP snippet). But where did the flashover reach...all the way to the Horseshoe Bar? To the bathrooms?

    5. The notorious foam. To which point exactly did it reach? Is there a diagram somewhere with this noted? I've tried to spot this in the video but I'm not sure -- in the video I can see some purple-colored lights on the ceiling - is the foam on that part of the ceiling?

Thanks to anyone who takes any time out of their day for my Qs.

    Hi All,

Well I did reach out to my buddy Alex about the photos from that show at Russell's but they are long lost to the void / He has moved a few times so can see they would be lost in the shuffle Oh well I tried

I did do a search for any other pictures or videos concerning a Great White show at Russell's 02-18-03 that folks may have posted. No go on that but I did manage to find a video of a band called Under Fire

playing at a place called Down Under Club Bangor Me. This is the club that was Russell's before it changed hands ( so I'm a bit off topic here but if anyone is interested in seeing where Great White played just

before the Station gig you can look up this video on youtube ) Under Fire (Partial set) @ Downunder Club, Bangor ME - YouTube The stage looks a little cleaned up in general but its basically the same as when I

saw them there that night. Anyway it was freaky for me to see how tight and congested it was in there, more so than even the Station. Happy viewing Jimmy D

PS Now that I think of it it seems weird that Jack Russell's Great White was playing at a place call Russell's

    --YET EVEN MORE QUOTES 2--

1.) "We did it. We lived the dream. When I was 17, Mark [Kendall] and I would practice giving interviews and there we were actually doing it. I'm just a lucky surfer, stoner guy from Whittier. We never took ourselves too seriously. We were a big backyard keg band and the parties just got bigger." - Jack Russell (December 2002).

2.) "[It was] so crowded you couldn't blink." - Rob Feeney, survivor, on the crowd that night.

3.) "We thought we were pretty lucky because we were close to the stage." - Survivor Adrian Krasinskas, who came from Massachusetts with his old friend Keith LaPierre (D). Krasinskas was put into a six-week long medical coma after receiving life-threatening burns.

4.) Kevin Beese, the Station's manager, after explaining to the Grand Jury how the first stage door--that opened in--was routinely removed before the club's annual fire inspections:

Grand Juror: The door came down every year and the went right back up?
Beese: For about eight years, yes.
Grand Juror: Didn't they ever think to put it [right] so that you wouldn't have to take it down every year?
Beese: I mean I know it was suggested...

5.) "...it was the first sound-proofing I had seen on a stage that we played on so far on that tour...and I said wow, we ought to get a good sound up here tonight because the stage is surrounded with sound-proofing." - Trip bass player, Jason Williams, who got out the bar door. Williams died from injuries sustained in a tree-falling accident on March 7th, 2010.

6.) Rhode Island AG prosecutor: "What sort of a pyrotechnic display did you see?"
Tom Conte, Fathead vocalist: "Like...a display you would see at the Super Bowl halftime."

7.) "Andrea [Mancini], Steve's wife, and I were joking...oh we should get something like that [for Fathead]." - Tom Conte recalling Great White's pyro opening.

8.) "If [Biechele] is another six-to-eight inches out further from the drum riser, we wouldn't be having this conversation because it wouldn't have hit the wall." - Station manager Kevin Beese telling the Grand Jury that the gerbs were set up too hastily in the dark and placed too close to the stage's rear wall.

9.) "I had to zip up my jacket to try and keep the heat out." - Survivor John Lynch, who stood ten feet from the front doors, hoping to help people trapped there.

10.) "There was a girl on top of me. She had fire going good all over." - Survivor Dave Malagrino, a Westerly bartender.

11.) "Yeah, that was the first time I ever went there...first and last, right? I think I'll be staying out of small nightclubs for a while." - Dave Malagrino.
Malagrino was pulled out of the front pile, very late in the game, by West Warwick firefighter, Tim Delaney. Malagrino had as many as 7 people on top of him, and when a small portion of the front hallway floor collapsed, half his body fell into the crawlspace that ran along the front of the club.

12.) "You know, you see people on fire that you can't even get to, [that] you can't even go and help, because [the smoke] is so thick." - Station manager Kevin Beese, who took a flashlight and briefly re-entered the burning club via the bar door.

13.) "It was like 'The Night of the Living Dead.' [And] for the first few minutes you are there you are in as much shock as everybody else." - Warwick Rescue Captain Peter Ginaitt, a 20-year veteran of that city's fire department.

14.) "...I was searching quadrant #3 with a team of five officers at the scene of The Station nightclub fire. I was raking an area to the left of the front door when I came across what appeared to be a human foot." - Coventry Police detective Paul Koczwanski.

15.) "You don't want to close your eyes, you still see it." - Frederick Bricker, a 32 year-old Coventry firefighter, on the difficulties of sleep after the fire.

16.) "We didn't even know. We were standing on them [and] didn't even know it. They were just--they were everywhere." - Ray Leomi, West Warwick police detective, on locating bodies after the fire.

17.) Survivor Scotty Dunbar described the scene inside The Cowesett Inn on the night of the fire: "A restaurant turned into a horror house."

18.) "I live at home in Dartmouth with my mom now...I moved home after the fire. I [had] lived in Pawtucket, [but now] it's just too long of a drive and I just don't want to, it's just too...I'm on a lot of medication right now so I can't, I choose not to." - Bartender Jennifer Choquette, on her reluctance to go to The Cowsesett Inn on Thursday nights, after the fire, to hang out with other survivors.

19.) "We're very tight. You can't put into words what we saw." - Survivor Todd King, on the post-fire bonds that have developed amongst certain Station survivors.

20.) "It's pretty much a taboo subject with them. They feel it was on their watch. They can't get over how many died." - Survivor Gina Russo explaining why West Warwick firefighters won't generally talk about the fire.

21.) "Ty is now free to tour the world." - Paul Woolnough, Great White's L.A. manager, to a packed church at Ty Longley's memorial service. Woolnough was the driving force behind incorporating pyro into Great White's live performances.

22.) "I really don't want to." - Mike Vargas, famed pile-up survivor, after being asked by prosecutors if he'd be willing to point himself out during a review of the Butler tape.

23.) "[It was] a night that I would do anything to forget." - Survivor Gene Goguen.

Very Interesting Billoween, I am right there with the Rob Feeney qoute I saw The Donna 3 times in 1998-99 Once was at Station ( not sure if it was called Station then ) and it was " so crowded you couldn't

blink" for sure ! The other 2 times was at The Elvis Room Portsmouth NH & Middle East Downstairs Cambridge MA and they were both just as crazy old and jammed as Station

Thanks for those qoutes B. Really gives perspective on the evening JD

I have had a look at the pre shot video from the drive, unfortunately it's such poor quality/low res that it's very difficult to do anything with sadly. I will give it a go with maybe a gentle, medium and aggressive processing and see what turns out. If anyone had a version that is even marginally clearer at all please send it over.

I will redo the video I put on at some point too as I missed the first few seconds.

RE. The different audio, it should be possible to extract it and sync it.

Hey there Yoyoyo, Jennifer Stowers passed away a few months after the fire due to "complications" from the new antidepressants she was prescribed from the trauma. You can see her in the BB video, she is the tall blonde woman who exits out the front door right before Butler. Also, while not a direct suicide from the fire, the fiance of Stacie Angers was so distraught over losing her that he killed himself several months after. I believe he was found in a pond after having tied weights to himself.

Also, much thanks to Billoween for the always fascinating quotes, they really help to paint the picture of the horror these people experience.

Thank you also to JXG999 for your editing efforts, I'm sure it's tedious work, but it's very much appreciated!

Hey Amanda - Funny you should mention Stacie Angers (D) and the--yeah--tragic suicide of her fiancee, Michael Wunschel. Because I recently gained some new information on the situation.

Wunschel, a fiber optic tech, and Angers, an assistant to a private investigator in Worcester, had been dating for eight years, and engaged for three of them. They were planning to tie the knot on 8-4-03.

On the day of the fire, the two had actually had a little spat--something to do with snow-shoveling at their home in Worcester. Now I don't know how all that played out, but what I do know is that Stacie ended up going down to West Warwick that night to see Great White with her old high school friend, Thomas Fleming (D). He drove--in his Red 1995 Nissan Maxima--and the pair bought tickets at the door.

Some fourteen months later, on 4-30-04, Michael Wunschel drowned himself in a pond, only a half-mile from Stacie's parent's home in Auburn. He had always felt guilty, reportedly, that he hadn't been there that night to protect her.

Hi all, gave the preshow video a go but i'm not overly happy with how it came out. The source video is so poor. I will play around with it some more though. Someone somewhere must have even a slightly better version, which might come out better, but I haven't found it yet! Let me know what you think. Many thanks

Hello everyone! I am new to the Group - but have been reading this particular thread (and the Original thread) on the Station Fire for some time now. It's amazing! This disaster - and it's victims - often cross my mind, ever since the night it happened. It just never goes away. I enjoyed the comments where you were all able to give Identities to some of the people we've seen so often in photos and the infamous video... I know there was a short discussion on whether a shot of the girl flashing a Peace Sign (OG Thread) was Judy Manzo - who went to the GW Show that night with Lisa Kelly. I do think that it is an extremely solid possibility that that girl *IS* Judy - but I can tell you that the lady standing next to her in that photo does *not* look like Lisa Kelly. Lisa was very petite, no bangs and long (auburn/brown) hair at the time... and I have a feeling - since Lisa Kelly was friends with Dr. Metal (Mike Gonsalves) - she might actually have been out of sight in that shot - hidden in the crowd of people near the sound board - where Dr. Metal would be if he was about to announce the band. We'll never know for sure but I have seen tons of photos of Lisa and it just doesn't look like her.
On another note - the blonde guy we see making it out the front doors - right behind Brian Butler videoing - who was identified as Jay Gates and also Jennifer Stowers by his side - had been out to dinner with a group - including Lisa Kelly, Judy Manzo & Jennifer Stowers- right before the show. Here is a link to an interview Jay Gates (Rod Stewart look-a-like) did back in 2012. It's probably been linked already.

I have tried many, many times to try an pin point Lisa in any photos or shots inside the club - but no success. I do think the 'Peace' girl is Judy and commend everyone for all of your interest and awesome work on this thread!

yes - I've seen a chart more than once that shows a large pile of bodies were found in the main hall/front door and the entrance into that hallway. So awful! there were others bodies found in the Atrium, in the back by the kitchen, 3 in the 2 bathrooms plus a few near windows...and that lone soul found on the dance floor area.

Hi DirtGurl, and welcome! Glad to see you here.

The girl flashing the peace sign was identified as Catherine Carignan, I believe. She was there with her date, Richard Delsanto (the dude standing behind her). There is definitely a resemblance between her and Judy though.

Thanks for the link to that interview, I for one had not seen it before!

OMG! That's amazing she is actually identified! I have tried reading through all of the posts and must've missed the one where her ID was confirmed... All these years I assumed it was Judy!! ugh. Thank you for clarifying! Were Judy & Lisa ever ID on any photos or the video that we know of?

    Welcome DirtGurl.
Amanda is, in MHO, correct about that gal being Catherine Carignan of Coventry. Our own Lt. Frank Derbin, who’s been MIA lately, made some excellent IDs. Check out the picture of Carignan he found on page 21 - post #1034 -
    (6-9-18).
Yes, she was on a date with Richard DelSanto, the tall dude in the flannel shirt you see on the elevated platform. DelSanto was a self-employed shell fisherman, and he and Carignan arrived at about 9:30 after having parked his 92’ Ford F-150 in the Cowesett Inn’s lot.
Both were pulled out of the front doors by unknown individuals.

Thank you for the Jay Gates piece from the Pittsburgh area paper. First time I ever saw that one. Russell Nordgren is the unnamed Providence friend of Gates who invited Kelly and Manzo. They’d all dinner before the show at TGIF in Warwick.
I’ve met friends of Manzo’s at the Memorial, and none have ever had any luck in spotting her in footage.
She was an ‘83 graduate from Attleboro High School and had kids who were 10 and 12 at the time of the fire.

The more I read, the more I realize how many young families were tragically broken up. I didn't realize how many of the girls were young moms. I've been back in the old posts and it seems there were alot of

young families with couples out for a night and children being watch by relatives or friends. It really is quite sad and I hope the families are somewhat healed, especially now with a finished memorial to help

have a place to remember them all. 2021 better be something special !!! Jimmy D

Unfortunately Cigar I remember thankfully a very small minority of people saying things along the lines of "well maybe they should have been at home with their kids" etc which is absolutely disgusting and incredibly unfair.

I have processed the preshow video again, however my dropbox is full haha. This time was more gentle algorithm so not changed greatly but it is a bit cleaner. Will upload if everyone is interested. All the best

I agree JXG ! They should be able to go out and enjoy every so often as long as they have a safe place and relatives/friends that can have fun with the little ones. I never had children but I can see how times out

to blow off steam and take in a dinner or show is needed . Just wrong place/wrong time maybe fate plays a part in all of it. Standing waiting for a beer at the bar or going to the bathroom in the moment is all

random and we'll never know how it affects fate for us. Sorry getting a little esoterically out there !!

Thanks for all the video work. I'm sure it will lead to more ID's down the road Jimmy D

Hey there cigar, from what I've read it was reported that 41 children (including one who was in utero at the time of the fire- Derek Gray's fiancee was pregnant) lost one or both parents in the fire. I'm not sure if that includes Ty Long's baby who was also in utero at the time, as the article was about victim settlements. So, so sad.

JXG999- I would absolutely be interested in your re-edited pre-show video. Your hard work is much appreciated here!

    Hi Commander!

Here is the link below. Its been brought up to 720p but is still best watched kinda small. It's a bit cleaner. Surely a better version is out there somewhere that isn't in WPRI's vault... Even just the preshow

Hi! I actually follow Ty's son - Acey - on fsacebook. He is an amazing guy...his mission is to help others and is always bringing collected goods to families/places in need. Childrens hopsitals etc. His father Ty would be so very proud of him. I also follow Lisa Kelly's daughter on and she has grown into a beautiful, successful woman - like her mother. It's heartwarming to see.

    OBIT

Jason A. Lund, 44, died at Kent Hospital in Warwick last Wednesday the 13th. No cause was given in The Providence Journal.

He was the lucky West Warwick guy who could have easily died at the Station at age 26--if his wife hadn't called his cell phone to say she was going into labor. (He'd had to leave his position, 20 feet from the stage, and go into the men's room just to be able to hear her.)

He was with friends Seth Dinger and Larry Zeringue. Dinger said that Jason left one minute before Great White took the stage.

Later, Jason reported that as he pulled out of the Cowesett Inn parking lot he thought he saw flames near the club's roof.

When he got home his wife said sorry; false alarm.

His pals Seth and Larry eventually got out the bar door, but it wasn't pretty,

Hi Guys Quick question for anyone who has info I was wondering if anybody ever compiled a list of the victims that were Veterans I work for the VA in Massachusetts and when I visit this year I was

hoping to get permission from the proper authority that services the Memorial to set flags up on any Veterans plaques or some recognition of there service Does this sound like something that's appropriate

Maybe Veteran's Day would be more fitting ? Anyone please weight in with comments or concerns If any list exists let me know Thanks Jimmy D

Jimmy “Cigar” D - I come up with two veterans amongst the deceased.

-Tracy King, the bouncer/rescuer served for 4 years in the Army in the 80’s with the Military Police in Germany, Japan, and Texas. He was from Warwick.

-E. “Tommy” Woodmansee III, of Charlestown, R.I., was an Army National Guardsman who served 3 years.

I don’t see anything wrong if you were to plant a couple of those tiny flags on a dowel, but I think your instincts about Veteran’s Day are the best. Or Memorial Day.

Those times when a survivor has described being picked up by the belt and neck—and moved toward or even thrown out a bar window—always makes me wonder if that was some kind of technique King might have learned in the military police. Kevin Beese also served in the Military Police, but he, of course, survived.
