    Devo Guitarist Bob Casale

Devo guitarist Bob Casale died Monday, his brother and band mate announced Tuesday. Casale was 61. He was known by fans as "Bob 2" since he played alongside guitarist Bob Mothersbaugh, the brother of Devo co-founder Mark Mothersbaugh.

Mods Could you change my tittle to guitarist, had a friend call and tell me it was the drummer, until I looked up the article.

I've been playing 80's videos on YouTube this afternoon for my son to watch and played "Whip It" and had no idea the guitarist had died today. That's weird because it isn't a video I watch often, I just like to aggravate my son with the really silly songs from the 80's. It has one of the weirdest videos ever.

It seems like so many of my 80's idols are dropping like flies. First Robert Palmer (I know, it was years ago but still), Joe Strummer of the Clash, Michael Hutchins, most of the Ramones, and now Bob Casale. Wow, makes me feel old when these musicians were my favorites in my teens.

The drummer from Devo did die last year so I thought this thread was old. I see now this is the guitarist. I love Devo so much. They are great. RIP guys!

As I age (I'm 51) I think about people from my youth
    dying.

He died in 2003 of a heart attack, I think.

This one bummed me a bit. We saw them back in 1982. Guilty pleasure I guess.

I have been binging on Devo lately and I think Jerry and Bob were so good looking, especially in the Time Out For Fun video. I think Bob 1 looks great in that one too. God they crack me up.

I think Jerry, Mark and Bob1 are still looking good in the What We Do video, which is brilliant. If you've seen it, one of my friends is the referee in the arm wrestling "booth". I didn't even know he was in it and as I watched it over and over I kept thinking "that looks like Rich" and when I watched it on a bigger screen I was like "holy crap it is him!"

I'm fascinated with the fact that these guys are the age of my parents, and are still so cool (to me at least). I hope I stay cool when I'm older.
