Helicopter crashes into Clutha Vaults pub in Glasgow

A helicopter has crashed into a pub on the banks of the River Clyde in Glasgow. The crash happened at the Clutha Vaults in Stockwell Street.

Number of casualties unknown at the moment, however looks like a small pub and a gig was on tonight also

Hopefully not as serious as it could be, unconfirmed at the moment is it was a police helicopter

    Your avatar is so appropriate.
For man also knoweth not his time: as the fishes that are taken in an evil net, and as the birds that are caught in the snare; so are the sons of men snared in an evil time, when it falleth suddenly upon them.

Sad day for my hometown, 6 confirmed fatalities so far. Had been in the bar a handful of times when I was younger, always a busy wee place.

It's a lovely wee pub indeed. The fact that today is St Andrew's Day (the patron saint of Scotland) kinda makes it more poignant. The pilot dumped the fuel before it crashed thereby averting more chaos. Ska band were on that night. Their FB page is full of shocked messages from them and their nearest. Why the BBC is saying one fatality when it's known that the three in the chopper died on impact is beyond me

Such a shame. It does look like a nice hang.

I was wondering about the reporting, too...looking forward to better clarification!

I'm afraid the more wreckage they clear will uncover a few more victims.
