Oh my God I just posted about this guy in another thread (getting old and can't remember which one). Years ago I was standing in line for the porta pottie at Boston Gay pride and he was standing in line ahead of us.
People kept asking for his autograph and we had no idea who he was. He was polite and gracious with everyone.
We finally asked the guy behind us quietly who he was. He told us the guys name and that he was a very famous porn actor and his claim to fame was tying his balls in a knot with his penis through the knot.I can't even figure out the physics of it but apparently it impressed a lot of people who did appreciate the physics behind it.

I wonder if he practiced doing that with balloons first.

Ya know I think I said on the theother thread. Who does this? I mean was he looking down at them bored one rainy day and said hey!!!! Let's see if I can tie my balls in a knot....oh yeah and stick my penis through the hole just as a topper!
What makes someone even try this? I have a friend that was an R nurse and she helped get a shotglass out of a guy's butt after a bachelor party.
I have no idea what prompts someone to do this sort of thing. In the words of Seinfeld, not that there is anything wrong with that!

All this ball tying talk reminds me of the Australian duo who do a show called 'Puppetry of the Penis'. http://www.puppetryofthepenis.com/ I saw a show they did in the UK, and it was both hilarious and painful.

HOLMES had a huge cock; that was why he was successful in porn. Other than his large endowment he wasn't anything remarkable in the looks department. Like RON JEREMY, it's the dick that made them. Granted that's enough in porn, I'm just saying neither looked like the kind of guy most women would give the time of day to otherwise. Always thought it looked kind of freaky in their porns to see some hot girls getting porked by those two; each of whom had the bearing of a trailer park inhahitant.

John's girlfriend, Dawn, is actually in the process of having a book published about her time with him. She has a website . In fact, John's first wife, Sharon lives with Dawn and Dawn's daughter (not by Holmes). She went through a lot of abuse and has come out a thoughtful, well adjusted woman in my opinion.

When I tried to open that link my anti virus alarm went off. Kinda ironic that link has a virus.

I have really gotten into the John Holmes/Wonderland thing the last few days. Sometimes I'll just find a person and read everything I can find. I think the whole thing is fascinating. I don't think he was a terrible looking guy, actually, but he pretty much was a scumbag, wasn't he. I seem to be drawn to things that happen in L.A. as well, I suppose since I lived there and nothing ever happens up here. Never did see JH in action, but I did see some pictures of "it" as I did research on this. I am looking forward to reading Dawn Schiller's book, it is now available for pre-order at Amazon.

Anyone here happen to have a copy of Wadd: The Life and Times of John Holmes? I can't seem to find it anywhere but I would love to see it.

This documentary was included as a 2nd disc when I bought the "Wonderland" film on dvd upon its initial release.
Don't know if it's still included when you buy the film, but it was when the dvd was first released. I actually found this docu much more informative/entertaining than the "Wonderland" film itself!

Ordinarily I wouldn't tell this. In 1990 when I was 10, before the chain video stores put the mom and pop videos with the back rooms out of business, my mom sent me to the local video store to rent some Jeff Goldblum movie. I did, brought it home, it had the right cover but we stuck it in the VCR, sat down to watch it it was a Holmes movie called Dracula Sucks. It had the right cover for the movie I thought I rented. Needless to say it was "eye opening" for a 10 yr old and a walk through the rain to the video store to return it. That is my memory of John Holmes.

I saw it on VHS several years ago. Interesting stuff, but as far as I can remember, nothing that wasn't included in the THS.

I have Dawn Schiller as a friend on FB. She just graduated this summer with her Bachelors in Womens Studies I do believe. I dont follow her posts much anymore - she does get way too preachy on her FB for me. I bought her book when it came out and to tell you the truth, I was disappointed. I wasnt looking for anything juicy about Holmes (lets face it, his life had a lot of action in it anyhow) but the book to me anyway was a bit of a yawner.

However, Sharon is now living in a nursing home (and has been for a while) and is in complete dementia. Dawn posted a pic of them at Christmas this last year.

Dawns daughter appears to be a teenager now.

I'm friends with Dawn as well on FB, and I've chatted with here quite a few times, and she's very sweet. I knew of John Holmes (somewhat) before I saw Wonderland, but that movie really got me interested in him and his whole story. I've read Dawn's book, several times...I really enjoyed it, and it definnitely showed a side of Holmes that I would imagine he never would have wanted the world to see. I also have the "Life Measured in Inches" book (I will admit though, the kindle version is crap...) and it was very interesting.
In the doc Wadd, Ron Jeremy says that John went overseas to shoot a film with Italian porn star Cicciolina knowing full well that he had HIV. Holmes' second wife (Misty Dawn) also said in the doc that John didn't care that he might pass it on to someone else. He figured they were all going to catch it anyway, so why bother taking precautions....

Does anyone recall how Linda Lovelace thought John Holmes was Eddie Haskel of the Leave it to Beaver show?
Even Ken Osmond (Eddie Haskel) thought John Holmes was going around saying he was Ken Osmond.
And Ken O was looking for him? Ken Osmond was a cop.

Even I thought he might be Eddie Haskel with all this talk!

And yet that man could charm the women! In Dawn's book, she tells of some of the times when she got away from him, only to have him talk to friends/family of hers and get them to talk her into speaking to him again. He always managed to weasel his way back in. One of the times was even after he beat the shit out of her.

Abusive and manipulative people go to great lengths to get back their "property". When someone is overly charming, it always puts up a red flag to me. And I'll be damned if I don't always get that feeling for a good reason because what they are up to always comes out in the end. Weird but true.

John is almost always portrayed as a clueless dipshit of a victim in relation to the Wonderland murders. Absolute bullshit, is what I think of that theory. Fatty Arbuckle, he wasn't.

That's for damn sure! It was said by Sharon and Dawn both in interviews that he hated the Wonderland gang because they always treated him like shit. I'm sure he was thrilled when he found out what happened to them. If he wasn't inside the night of the murders I think he at least was the one that let them in.

I thought John Holmes was pretty not. Not in the first pictures in this thread where he looks older and has all the women around him, but the younger pictures of him with his curly blond hair, tall lean body, blue eyes... some of the pictures in Dawn Schiller's book make him attractive. I hate reading books like that because I have to wonder why couldn't I get involved in some crazy shit like that and be even a small part of history instead of living this boring life.

I wouldn't mind being remembered or known for something great, but I don't know about being a part of something like this. I'll stick to my boring life.
You're right though bettie, there are some photos where John looks rather handsome. It's all about lighting, angle, etc. For me though, I'd take an ugly man who treats me right over a good looking one who beats the shit outta me any day.

I've never considered him attractive. His face in those pics actually reminds me of a popular 70's tv character actor. But I can't think of his name offhand. And no, it's not the Eddie Haskell thing. He was older and in tons of sitcoms.

He reminds me a bit of James Olmos of Miami Vice and Selena. Something about his eyes.

No, the guy I'm thinking of was a character actor on 70's shows like Bob Newhart, Cosby in the 80's and did a few episodes of dramas too. Mostly he was on 70's comedies and alot of times he played snooty types. Wish I could narrow it down better but my brain is a bit overloaded right now, lol.

    Unfriended Dawn Schiller tonight.

Couldnt take the holier than thou attitude anymore. Its been building and yes, its her FB page, but I couldnt take it anymore.

She was "grossed out" and appalled by the movie Rock of Ages. She literally took issue with some tongue kissing in the movie and some other things portions that were completely harmless. The movie was rated PG-13 - she went on and on about it.

I saw the movie more than once and it was funny and awesome.

Anyway, Im sorry I purchased and read her book when it came out now. Off to the Goodwill it goes. Or better yet, the garbage.
