We have all seen the pictures of FAYE DUNAWAY made up to resemble the late JOAN CRAWFORD for the making of MOMMIE DEAREST, but I've always thought that in the picture directly below how much CRAWFORD actually resembles DUNAWAY !

I have sooo enjoyed all these candid pictures of all these movie stars, especially MM and James Dean. they show a side rarely seen - it makes them look like everyday people, just like us. love it.
But i have to ask about the nude pics of lucy ball, joan crawford, etc...
does anyone know why they did it? was that like the "casting couch" of that time?
or that they needed they money? I just find it kinda weird, and rarely do they look "happy" about doing it.

CRAWFORD felt that the press had changed; that they now wanted to photograph celebrities from the most unflattering angles to make them look poorly. Supposedly when JOAN saw this photograph of herself in the newspaper she remarked, "If that's the way I look, then they won't see me (in public) anymore !"
