Haven't seen it yet, but I'm intrigued. What I like (other than the show's premise itself) is that both men and women seem to love it. Generally, I'm not into primarily-women TV series. Kewl!

Haven't watched it but Andy Cohen from Bravo is a huge fan. The star was a guest on his show last night and he raved about her show. Curious now.

I downloaded the audio version of Kermin's memoir, plan to listen while I fall clean my house this weekend. Apparently the actual memoir is quite different from the series, but it still has great reviews.

I can't wear organge because I'm a redhead.......oooohh wait we're talking about a series. Never mind, carry on! (Sorry it's Friday and I'm giddy! I've been waiting for this day since Monday!).

It's funny, when I saw this headline on Yahoo, I thought it was an article about fashion trends. I had no idea it was a series until I read this thread. What network is it on?

Yes, it's NetFlix only. I watched the entire season in the course of about four days. I am hooked. I want to read the book, but I refuse to spend $12 for an ebook. It's a pretty accurate portrayal of jail.

Season 2 Friday, June 6!!!! *insert happy dance here* Schmoo and I are anxiously waiting for it.

I did break down and get the book. The eBook for my Kindle App was a birthday present, from me to me with love, back in September. I've read it three times since, and watched the series through another couple of times. I'm watching the last two episodes now to refresh my mind. The book, however, is different from the series. Both are good.

I read the book and just binge-watched the entire 1st season. I know that there are certain "artistic licenses" being taken on the show...

I did the same thing. I read the book first, after hearing about the series. Then I watched the series in a couple of days. Definitely some artist licenses being taken. I am excited for the second season, though!! I was disappointed to hear that Laura Prepon was only in a few episodes this season and was presumably leaving the show, but now heard she will be returning full time to season 3.

Another good one is House of Cards. I HATE HATE HATE political shows like West Wing, even the comedies, like Spin City but I love HoCs. Netflix is producing some good television!

In looking for OITNB wallpapers, I found out that not only will there be a third season, but Laura Prepon will be back as a series regular as Alex Vause. I want to know how they're going to explain Prepon's 9- or 10-episode disappearance. SHU?

Holy crap my friend and I were literally counting down we thought it would be on at midnight. Didn't come up til 2am I guess so the whole country was on the 6th. I didn't watch it yet though. I read a Buzzfeed post that was 67 things to remember about season 1 before you watch season 2 of OITNB and only remembered like 10 (seriously!?)! Damn who knew my memory was that bad!

I'm not even kidding now, I wonder if there is some kind of disorder like face blindness but that for TV shows/movies. This show for example. There was a whole season of True Blood that I watched a second time and only remembered maybe 1/4 of it, if that. I've rented the movie Control from Netflix 3 times and while I now have some vague memories of it I can't really recall anything specific. There are other things I remember forever but it's just certain things, even though i ADORE them, don't imprint on my brain sometimes.

Here's the link if anyone is interested. My memories are worse than I thought, this is just 67 things to remember from the S1 FINALE!!!

Hubs and I are holding off until the kids leave this evening so we can be uninterrupted. I have a feeling it's going to be one long ass night so I've been drinking coffee like it's water. Good for the energy.....not so good for the bladder! LOL! Good thing I don't start my new job til Monday. I have a feeling I'll be done with the new season by then.

I brought home an iced coffee from work so I can stay awake. I promised Schmoo i would wait for him, we have to start with the last episode of season one because that's where he left off. I'm off to check out that link. I have watched the series through four times now.

ETA: When I went to that link, and read the page, at the bottom was a link to Morello's back story: http://www.buzzfeed.com/emilyorley/m...k-you?s=mobile

I have a question. I don't have Netflix, so, can I watch this show from my toaster? Or do I need a toaster/convection oven combo?

Just for those who haven't watched yet and don't want to know, that link about Morello contains spoilers for season 2.

This may as well. But I found it's pretty good (esp. on back stories, etc...) on having the first paragraph be what has been revealed on season 1 and then second paragraph starts "On season 2 we learn..." so you can stop reading if you need to. No spoilers on the first page though. It's still a work in progress but it looks promising to be a very informational Wiki for OITNB.

    lol

I am I think on the 7th episode in on season 2. So far I like season 1 much better, but I have heard so many raves about 2!? I will probably rewatch s2 again after I'm done.

I also want to read the book again to remember what is different in there. If I'm remembering correctly, her relationship with Larry was always fine when she was in there and she never actually saw Alex until they went to Chicago, correct? I totally understand the differences needed for dramatic story lines on TV and stuff I just like to think of the real story sometimes.

I do like when we see the back stories of these characters. Morello's is sad, I will read that link Ria posted now that I've seen more of it on S2. I love Suzanne "Crazy Eyes" and her flashbacks make me sad. She seems like such a nice person albeit with problems. That actress is great. So is Taryn Manning, who plays Tiffany "Pennsatucky". I always just thought of her as a mindless teeny bopper actress until watching her in both this and Sons of Anarchy season 3. She is actually a really good little actress.

Here's a link that goes through each episode for season 2. I like to read recaps like this after I watch each episode. It's very easy to not get spoilers as you are clearly warned before it goes on to the next episode.

Yes! I hope we don't have to wait all the way until next June to see it though!! That's just not fair when they release all the episodes at once!

I just got done with episode 10. Oh Pornstache. SMH.

And I REALLY REALLY do not like the influence Vee is having on Susanne.

I really wish we had that spoiler code on this board that would be awesome.

Don't read this if you haven't watched the finale but it's a good article.
I ended up liking this season, I'm not even sure now which I liked better. It definitely got better toward the end. The people on Buzzfeed hate Piper for the most part and while I don't hate her I agree you still have a great show without her. The Piper heavy episodes were the most boring, except the first one, imo.

Wow. I think the acting for the most part is phenomenal! I was actually just wondering today if this show can be nominated for anything like Emmy awards since it's not on a network or cable channel. There are some ladies on there who are just awesome, imo.

There is one that drives me crazy though. Rosa, the one with cancer. Why does she sound like she has a Russian accent? When they started showing her back story and it was a Latina I didn't realize whose story it was at first.

Speaking of Rosa, the guy in her back story who was the last guy to be her boyfriend, looked so familiar to me. I finally figured it out. He was on a show on ID, in the re-enactment of the Marine who gets his Marine mistress pregnant and then kills her. I can't remember his name, but I thought it was weird because it's the first time I've seen anyone from an ID show on a "real" show. I always figured they used non-union actors on ID or something, because many of them are terrible and never on anything else.

eta: He played Cesar Laurean who killed Maria Lauterbach on the ID show. Can't remember the name of the show... it's a woman narrator, it's all about affairs, in between each scene they have like this porno moaning sound, lol. Not the show with Susan Lucci though.

OMFG you have to watch this. It's Uzo auditioning for every character on the show. Too funny! Poussey and Nicky are the best but she is actually pretty dead on with Alex, it cracked me up.

And no, the season ended perfectly. I finished Tuesday night and I'm already jonesing for season 3. I watched season 2 again so I could get up to where Schmoo is, we watch together.

I can't even watch Law & Order without being anal about how its so fake & that is not how real criminals nor investigators act. I also keep forgetting this is a comedy - not a drama

I love L&O SVU. I don't care if it's realistic or not, I love seeing those fuckwads get what's coming to them.

As for OITNB, it is a fairly accurate portrayal of prison. I was in county, but it was very similar. The outfits were the same style, but orange like a newbie, the women just as clique-y.

    I love SVU also.

Just an aside my friend posted on FB about the Law and Order marathon on USA keeping her from doing things she needed to. Her cousin comes on all drunk ranting about something related to the law and order but not the show. It was the funniest interaction I've ever seen. Someone ignored him and wrote "SVU?" and her cousin replies "who is dis damn clown postin, we talkin' real shit here", my friend tells him to take his silly drunk ass to bed, it just went on an on, it was so hilarious.

I'm enjoying season 2, glad to hear it was picked up for a third season!
Theme song is kinda catchy as well...
