Id like to see the context of the quote.

Coronavirus sounds like something you get from drinking the last bit of a hooker's backwash beer. So that works.

They are saying this new virus has the ability to spread before symptoms even show. Evacuating people from Wuhan back to the States and Canada is not a good idea IMO.

Costco in BC was wall to wall people buying everything they could manage. In fear because they are so close to Washington State who have had 6 deaths.

    That's a tad ironic.
People being exposed to thousands of other people in a quest to protect themselves from a communicable illness.

    No need to panic.

My concern is the elderly with health issues. But I worry every year at flu season with my Mother at age 90 in a Nursing Home.

Yeah - you def want your own toilet paper during an influenza outbreak cause sharing it is just too risky at a time like that.

Most homes here in the states lack those.
Fortunately, they've become quite common in gas stations and fast food places so you can always just use a public one.
I've also noticed that in some of the higher end, full-service men's barber shops, right next to the old fashioned shoe shine stands and massage chairs; they now have bidet boy stations. In a lot of places, you only need one appointment to get the works.

Too funny ! For those who prefer the comfort of home you can get the Irenne Classic Smart Bidet at Costco, very attractive. I didn't see anyone in BC lugging one of those around.

Those Irenne Classic Smart Bidet people need to issue a press release stating that statistically, owners\users of Irenne Classic Smart Bidets are not dying from coronavirus when Irenne Classic Smart bidets are used in conjunction with flu face masks, because that improves the hygiene of all entry points into the the body; making it harder for the coronavirus germs to gain entry.

I bet then you'll see people in BC walking around in public wearing flu face masks and carrying Irenne Classic Smart bidets. They'll be coming out of Costco and pretty much everywhere else you look.

Now, my vigorous hand washing does not raise the OCD flag. Plus the elbowing and monkey footing of doors and such. I've always washed my hands before and after hitting the urinal.

I have always been a germ freak. But today shopping I saw a guy in the entryway coughing his guts out and umm nasty snot rolling down his face. How about staying home if you are sick. And you cannot enter the Nursing Home my Mother is in unless you are checked by a nurse. And I guess the virus is in Indiana. I have always been calm about this but admit I am getting a bit scared for our elderly.

    Saw this earlier:

On February 17, 2020, the Director-General of the WHO presented at a media briefing the following updates on how often the symptoms of COVID-19 are severe or fatal, using data from 44,000 people with a confirmed diagnosis:
Stage of severity Rough percentage of people with COVID-19
Mild disease from which a person can recover More than 80%
Severe disease, causing breathlessness and pneumonia Around 14%
Critical disease, including septic shock, respiratory failure, and the failure of more than one organ About 5%
    Fatal disease 2%

The Director-General also noted that the risk of serious complications increases with age. According to the WHO, few children get COVID-19, although they are still investigating the reasons for this.

I am also buying extra pet food. I can no longer visit my mother at her Nursing Home. No visitors at all. I did call her and was so glad she was able to answer the phone even though she can't hear well. The casino in our town is closed for two weeks. All the schools in area down for the same. I guess this will help with the spread of the virus. I don't know. It could be a lot worse in two weeks. No cleaning supplies on shelves of stores. $12.00 for a small can of Lysol?

It's the same here, all venues, schools, libraries are closed till at least April 5th or beyond. I have been stocking up on canned goods and other non- perishables. Things that I can make go a long way. I was in a dollar store on Friday and you could still get smaller cans of Lysol for $2, plus paper towels and toilet paper ! That I was surprised by since Costco and other superstores were cleaned out. People were selling those items on Amazon for 5 times the price ! That is just crazy, but people were dishing out the cash for it.

The National Guard has been sent into California, I am guessing LA, here in San Diego we are pretty much following the stay at home unless we have to, well in my area of San Diego, Bars, Malls, movies, hair and nail salons, libraries are all closed, so are schools, and fast food and restaurants are take out only, I haven't been out of the house in two weeks as I have asthma and have to be careful.

Yes, take care of yourself pk. I have not been out myself, only to pick up needed items and I come right home. Thank God for the net and this forum ! Actually the bat story was, according to his wife, they were sitting in a meeting when he was first getting started, and the record producer asked him, hey are you really as hardcore as people say you are, what makes you so different from everyone else? Ozzy reached down, into a box they brought in that had fake bats in it, to play a joke on the record producer, he puts one in his mouth and bites down and pulls, well blood went everywhere and to their shock, it was actually a bat that had gotten into the box at the warehouse or store where they got the fake bats, seeking a warm place to hide.

So that's what got him started eating bats on stage?

That's kind of gross, and it's really not a good idea.
Eating dead (or living) animals without cooking them first can have serious health consequences.
Munting it's not, but still not such a great idea.

A tiny bit of silver lining to this mess:

The stimulus package was passed. Yay! Also, I just got 15 GB of free extra data from my cellphone provider. Nice to have since I work in education and therefore, do not make big bucks. I don't want to say who my carrier is because that could be construed as advertising for them: a no-no here. I see lots of carriers are doing the same.

There was some confusion since I got a text and checked into its validity. Yeah, it's real, but if any of you are also wondering why it's not showing up in your account I spoke with customer service for an official response: the free gigs will show up after members' monthly data allotments are used. There will also be no overage charges. I got that in writing for obvious reasons.

Mine offered unlimited data for everyone on my account, froze my account for two months to give us more time to pay, and won't collect a bill for April or May, without affecting our service. I won't name them, but their signature color is magenta.

I'm happy the aid passed, and have figured out what to do if they send the whole thing to my card. Ex-hubs and I are now 2 hours apart and it's not as easy anymore, I can't hand over my card and say, "Go to Walmart, cash out your part which is $X, PIN is this, and bring my card back please." Nope. But I have it figured out.

In addition to the aid, the owner of my Freddy's franchise sent out an email with a link that restaurant workers can go to apply for MORE aid, to the tune of a one-time payment of $500 from the franchise. I'm grateful, because I doubt my old store would do that.

So I'll have unemployment, the franchise aid, AND the government's aid. Not even mentioning the 401K that'll be mailed to me, deposited, and saved. I will be just fine during this, I just hope to get back to work within a month. I always need to be productive. I expect I'll soon be playing in the kitchen making snacks and meals for my roommates.

I thought it was a hoax too when only 136,998 people had died.
    Now, I'm starting to wonder.

Well what did he think was going to happen dumb ass, feel bad he died but his stupidity in not taking it serious caused his death. My "friend" states "well I do wear a mask, when I have to but if you're going to get it you're going to get it and there is nothing you can do about it, I don't like wearing them but if the rules say we have to we have to" I just want to slap her and say dumb ass the mask will lower your risk.

Testing my 90 year old Mother with dementia in a Nursing Home for the Covid virus. She just has a bad sore throat. I think it will come back negative.
