An Elementary? Really? God, I hope he/she wasn't very successful at whatever asinine ideas he/she had planned.

Who the fuck does something like this!!?? I am enraged right now. Those poor babies. I saw this story on MSN while I was in the grocery store. A little girl in the picture looked so scared I started crying right in the middle of the market.

The Principal and School Psychologist are dead and the Vice Principal was shot in the foot or leg. At least it looks like they weren't targeting children so far.

Even if no children were killed, they will never be the same. Those kids are NEVER going to feel safe again.

They will be okay. Children are remarkably resilient. It will become just a distant foggy memory in due course.

Yeah, I just read that some lady told CNN that she heard over 100 shots fired, and that two people are dead. Poor panicking minds don't know how to work. I hope it is minimal though.

Just wait and see, it's all still so new. I have heard 5 different numbers from 5 different sources just in the past 10 minutes. When something like this happens, it should be a shock. Such a shame that it is not.

Not to minimize this atrocity, but CNN online has already resurrected gun control issue...they just couldn't wait a day or so.

I know right? Because politics and laws and who is right or wrong is soooo important right now. Just give me my stupid news and leave your agendas out of it.

That figure of 27 killed comes through reporting from CBS just mentioned by local TV covering the story, monitored by CNN. No verification.
CNN Tweeted this earlier, but they still maintain a lower number on their website.

Earlier reports of a second gunman are unconfirmed. The Connecticut Post reports that police are also questioning a handcuffed man in connection with the shooting. Witnesses told the newspaper he was led out of the woods by officers.

And also that he was in his 20s. I sure hope he wasn't shooting in his kid's classroom. The timing (near Christmas) makes me think this may have stemmed from a custody issue.

ETA: Not that if it WASN'T his kid's class makes it any better or anything...

Hence he would have had knowledge of the facility layout and schedule. And, of course, he was dressed in combat garb and wearing a vest. Another programmed killer, sounds like to me.

Local news outlets report that the shooting occurred inside a kindergarten classroom, and that all the pupils in that classroom are unaccounted for.

    I agree in a sense.

Also, as much as I hate to predict doom and gloom......I think we are going to see a few more "End of the World" type killings before the year is out.

What kind of psycho can go into a school and gun down little children. Man, I have a hard time wrapping my head around that.
To my Father. Even though you have crossed the plane, you will always be with me.
You were not just my Father, but my hero. My life has been a poor attempt to be like you
You taught me music, vocals, and how to fight. I can only hope I am half the man you are
When I close my eyes I can see you. And finally, Thank you Dad. for everything.

The shooter was arguing the with principal before he shot her. She switched on the PA system during the argument to alert the teachers that something was going on. A lot were saved because of what she did, it could have been worse, if that's even possible. The shooter apparently was 22 Years old.

CNN online reports investigators say a male is being questioned but not labeled as a suspect.

My prediction: This person will soon be released, his name undisclosed, and authorities will state that they were satisfied he had nothing to do with the shootings, and that's the last you'll hear about this person. Same routine.

Shooting at a high school is bad enough but an elementary school is just plain sick. that would make my depression the worst ever.

the only good thing that comes out of this is that the shooter is dead and burning in hell. If I was one of those families, I'd pack up & move the hell outta that town. Maybe move out of CT. Its not going to be easy getting those kids wanting to go to that school. (Any school)

Not here either. I found a Twitter, full of very angry things, but of course I have no idea if that was him or not.
