    Chad Everett - 75

I don't know who he was. (Just being honest). Apparently he starred on lots of things but is best known for 1970s television show, "Medical Center".

Sidenote: This makes two today. Somebody better keep an eye on my Annette and Zsa Zsa! I bet Doris Day is starting to sweat bullets. (Although, if we're sticking with late 70s TV Stars, Dick Van Patten might not want to answer his door in case the reeper is waiting on the other side.)

Man, back in the day Chad Everett was really something to look at; beautiful eyes; very handsome; perfect hair. In my book was right up there with Richard Chamberlain. Sorry to here he's gone; can't believe he was 75!!

I had a dream last night....me watching CNN only for them to report where CAROL BURNETT had died. First time EVER I had a dream about such a thing...and I am not even a fan of Carol's.

You'll have to trust this old timer when I say that back in the day, he was the walking definition of hot fire.

And get off of my lawn.

He also had a manufactured name; his real name was Ray Cramton. He aged gorgeously, too.

    Rest in Peace, Chad.

I like Carol Burnett, but I doubt it will be one of those, "OMG moments" for when she goes. Tim Conway though, oh, I'll be sad, sad, sad.

I'll be sad when Tim Conway goes. I don't particularly like comdians but I could not look at Tim without giggling, in good way.

Trivia: Chad Everet had to get his hair cut in a special duck tip in back because of cow licks. Duck tip maynot be the name. Let me see if I can find something about it...Can't find anything about it. But I remember reading about it in a TV Guide interview during his Medical Center days. RIP

I like Tim Conway too even though in recent years some of his credibility was, shall we say "downgraded" ( pretty much 98% of it was due to his comments over the years about his role on TV's infamous "Turn-On" ) but still none-the-less to me he would be a bigger loss than say Carol. Now Betty White on the other hand....

He was a heart throb back in the day, and I think you'll find a lot of babies were named Chad back then, and he did indeed age beautifully. That article you posted Bbeelzebub stated he had been married to the same woman for 45 years until her death. How nice to hear. R.I.P.

(Can't believe he was that old!)

Oh, Chad Everett was "the man" back in the early 70's! "Medical Center" was the show to watch, and gave ol' "Marcus Welby" a run for the money. Think "Dallas" back in it's glory days, before things were more dramatic. For a stud, he seemed to live a pretty humble life away from the Hollywood scene... it just seems too soon!

Yes, he was Dr. Joe Gannon in the 1970s television drama Medical Center. Everett battled alcoholism for many years before seeking treatment from Alcoholics Anonymous. I am so glad he was able to overcome his addiction and stay married to the same woman for 45 years. His wife died just a year ago. He suffered from lung cancer. RIP Chad Everett.

Here's another bit of trivia: He was a born again Christian. Back in the 70's he was on a talk show, I think it might have been Dick Cavett. Lilly Tomlin was on as guest too. Chad happened to refer to his wife as "his property" and Lilly went off on him and stormed off the show.

WOW Chad Everett? Why isn't this in the news? He was a huge star back in the 70's! He was extremely handsome! What ticked off the public was his sham marriage. He would sell poetry he wrote to his wife and then the scandal broke about Chad impregnating a bit actress and the use of poppers during sex.
Then he was on the Merv Griffin show when comedy star Lily Tomlin walked off the show when Chad told the audience
    he owned Shelby his wife!
After this one rarely saw Chad Everett much. Sad.

I guess they patched things up? Shelby died in 2011 now Chad today.
I didn't know they survived the scandal! Amazing!

It was a real messy paternity case! Might have destroyed Chad's career? I'm not sure?
I do recall that Sheila Scott at that time walked up to Shelby Grant on a set and actually dropped a legal paper on Shelby Grant's lap!
    I thought WOW!

Wow, what a nice memento of their work relationship there. Not.

If Dale resembled "Daddy" Chaddy in the past, he really doesn't anymore. Favors his mother more.
But his little girls are very cute.

I guess he turned out all right?

There are some Medical Center Eps on Youtube. Brought back memories. Tuesday nights were Marcus Welby and Wednesday nights were MC (they both debuted in 1969.) When M*A*S*H* came along on Monday nights in 1972, it was 3 nights of various medical-themed programs in a row for several years.

In case anyone missed it, this was Shelby Grant's obituary.

Interestingly, daughter Shannon's 3 children bear the surname Everett--- is there a story behind that or did she marry a guy with the (real) family name Everett?

Some people may remember the way he was at the
playboy club in LA during the late 1970s.

He and James Cann were so rude to the young
    ladies at this time.

Just reading the book about Dorothy Stratten.

I am interested more in the paternity suit, it looks like he was never proved to be the Dad. Does anyone have any more recent information?

It sounds like he was probably the Dad, but didnt want to admit to it. How sad. Any pics of the son who must now be close to 40 or older?

The stuff I learn here, I love it!

Boy, that paternity case sure brings back on memories! It was in every gossip magazine at the time. I had totally forgot about it till this thread. Seemed that the magazines weren't too sympathetic to her situation.

I'm kind of amazed how Ms. Scott or Scotti was going on about it 40 years later. Her old My Space page, and now Facebook. I don't know if Chad was really the father (can't tell with pictures of Dale), but she just won't move on. Almost like an obsession. I guess if he really was the father and she was being truthful, then I could understand the obsession. As far as that picture of her and Chad with his hands on her ass, that don't mean nothing (always looked like a joke photo done in fun). I was on a TV show set in the '70's, and witnessed that type of behavior. Ass grabbing happened a lot. Directors/actresses, actors/actresses. It made me uncomfortable when I saw it, but it would happen. You won't get away with that behavior now, but it was somewhat common back then.

I read the entire court case that someone posted here. It spoke about who was called in to testify (including her OB dr) and lots about her menstrual cycle. Back then, there was no DNA and all you could use were the HLA tests, which he had. That test gave him a 95% chance of being the father - and could not exclude him. Those tests were all they had back then.

Now, a swab in the cheek is all it would take. I wonder why his daughters with Shelby dont just go ahead and submit to that on their own? I think if I were them, I would just do it on my own to end it once and for all.

Its highly probable that he was the father. I have no doubt they had sex, he did admit to going to her apartment that day.

Every kid deserves to know who his father is. If it was Chad, shame on him, and hia wife Shelby for trying to keep him from that child.

If it wasnt his kid (or Sheila just had no idea) shame on her for sticking to this story all these years.

    Dale is the innocent victim.
