So Hags, got any hobbies besides FAD?

Do any of you have any hobbies apart from visiting morbid websites?
Mine are running marathons and collecting Madonna memorabilia.

I am an avid scrapbooker, so photography goes hand-in-hand with that. Camping, playing with my daughter... I used to collect Barbie dolls before I had Em and when I still had money to burn!

I go to yard sales, thrift shops, flea markets on the weekends to find stuff to sell on eBay, and Amazon (which I've been doing since 1998). I won't get rich or be able to quit my job - but it's nice having not having to live "check to check", and being able to buy stuff for myself (books, DVDs, CDs, etc).

I'm a big time reader, movie watcher, and listen to music.

I'm pretty much a loner (a Quirky-alone - if any of you know what that is!), and enjoy my own time.

And this message board is a new hobby of mine - I'm obsessed! But I also think I've had all this celeb crap bottled up inside of me - and now I have this outlet to share my vast knowledge and other things with others, finally!

Ok, so much for MY boring life...next!

I have at least 3 books going at once: the one by the bed, the one in the living room, ect. I won't read fiction..only bio's, scandals and history!
I used to collect Prince memoribilia for 20 years but I sold it a few years back and made a small fortune!
I also collect old Mad Magazines.

I'm single and fine with it. It will take a REAL special woman for me to give up the things I love doing - especially since I consider myself a "bitch magnet", which makes me tend to shy away from making any attempts to go out and meet anyone! I've had enough!

I enjoy hunting and fishing, shooting (in particular skeet shooting) which my wife has begun to enjoy with me, I also have a couple of salt water fish tanks I really like to take care of, my wife and I both LOVE movies and have a pretty cool collection. When I am not doing those things, I have a son that I am teaching how to enjoy life without a Playstation.

No, never been to Belton. I stick close to home. I go out to Austin for their monthly flea markets and do up all the yard sales and stuff here near home!

We sure have a lot in common, Jason.....except I don't active write~even though I know that there is a funny novel dying to get out of my head! Nor do I have any musical talent...just an appreciation for most types of music.

As for the rest, spot on. Add to that collecting & smoking my pipes. (legal stuff) and that which would make my cardiologist have a stroke...but it keeps me happy....and nearly sane!

Ive been a classic car buff for years, but I do allot of outdoor things
I love camping out, fishing streams, lakes and taking photos of nature.

Here is a couple pictures of my 1956 Chevy Nomad, originally my fathers
daily driver that he purchased new,and gave to me in 1989 when he had
become to sick to drive it anymore (he passed from old age) and I have
somehow managed to hang on to her,it was not in this condition though
when I got it,its taken over 10 years off and on work to make it happen.

I get allot of offers to sell it..but always pass, its actually a blast to drive
and has AC and a 500 watt stereo system, for other car buffs it has a built
383 fuel injected engine and a 700R4 trans, gets around 18-24 miles to the
gallon, and can smoke the rear wheels on command,we drive it all over and
get allot of fun with it.I did about 90% of the work on it and a friend did
the interior for me..and the cool custom cup holders. Its very dependable.

Thats about it..though Iam in the process of building a new/bigger garage
that can hold my car projects and can be a sanctuary for me to work in
lol..my girlfriend calls it "man land" lol, I have to agree with her on that!

    lol..

Wow, Morbid1, that's a beauty of a car. I love classic cars like that. Don't care too much for "muscle" cars though. I like to collect records and play them. I also like experimenting with hair color, so mine changes often.

I am NUTS about the NY Times Sunday Crossword. I buy the Sunday paper on Saturday and time how long it takes me to finish the puzzle. I have bought every compilation that Borders and Waldenbooks has published.

Aside from that, volunteering for my local greyhound rescue league, NASCAR, and the Pgh Penguins....

I'm a food whore. I watch the Food Network channel as often as possible, and when I can't sleep in the middle of the night (which is often,) I surf the net for recipes and cooking tips. It's like PORN for me.

I also do some scrapbooking (just bought a craft table to hold all my stuff, and it's a beauty!) Other than that, I enjoy writing. Several well-meaning friends who are trying to kill me continually suggest that I write a book, but right about the time I really get into a "chapter" or a thought, my dog wants to go out for "snit time," so I guess he could be counted as a hobby, too.

I am a sous chef...and I enjoy experiementing in the kitchen...I am also an experienced baker and cake decorator, so I am always baking and giving stuff away (as wedding gifts I will usually make the wedding cake and cater the reception if its a finger food event).
I also sew, and craft, make jewlery and all sorts of things....
Right now my mian projects are for my upcoming baby!!

I have a request to any other sewers/crafters out there....
I saw some fabric not too far back...it was pink and had little skulls/crossbones on it..the crossbones were diaper pins and the skulls had dark pink bows on top of their heads...I cannot seem to find it now, and I DESPERATELY want to do the nursery on that theme...has anyone else seen it???

Music. I play guitar, bass, keyboards and drums. I used to have a kickass home studio but it was really expensive to update so I kinda let it all go. Now all I have is my Mac, synth and guitars.

Writing. I love to write short stories, mostly horror and, according to my wife, very graphic. But what else would a death hag write??

Sports. I guess I still have that childhood dream of being the QB for the Cowboys, of course in my *cough cough* old age I now consider play-by-play more my speed... But I go to as many hockey and football games as I can.

I forgot to mention that I'm a crossword puzzle nut too! They have to be the "challenging" ones. If they are easy and take me 5 minutes to complete - forget it!

I may not get the hard ones completely done - but I get pretty damn close! I like "straining my brain" - I don't want to end up like Ronnie Reagan!

I also adore cooking (though I can't do it without some good music or conversation) and making my own recipes or tweaking ones I've found. I write (though I haven't been able to finish a novel yet), I've written a children's book my dad is supposed to illustrate, and I've written a 60-page, 1 hour pilot episode for a tv show. I also fence (as if I hadn't mentioned that before) and enjoy tournaments. I also love good movies, and a good book.

I started off record collecting in the late 70s then went to vintage music video collecting in 1985 and have amassed quite the library of vintage 50s and 60s music shows and clips. I also collect old TV Guides from that time period, too, to let me know what might possibly be available on film or video from that time.

I love my dogs....I enjoy walking them on mountain trails and going to the local park. Their names are Daytona (minature pinscher) and ROXY (doberman). I love to watch and keep up with sports. I am a HUGE Redskins fan, so NFL, NASCAR and NBA are my fav to watch. Most of the time my tv is set to SportsCenter. Playing a game of hoops is a favorite past time. I also enjoy working out at the YMCA. The YMCA is such a awesome place to be...the sound of laughing kids always makes me smile. I love to go to the movies. I love to play with my ipod and download music (YES! I pay for my music). I enjoy seeing bands perform live. I love to lie in my hammock inthe evenings and do NOTHING!
