Obama in his own words. Something everyone should watch, and I mean the entire video.
"We are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America."
The only truthful statement by B.O., and the only campaign promise he is keeping.
Good find, SRV.
Canada 5th on economic freedom index, USA is 18th. Sad to see America decline so quickly. Four more years of socialism should just about finish her.

74% of the people who voted in the pole on this page agreed with Mitt Romney's comments.

SRVFan you are on a roll. Good stuff.
I thought the video spoke volumes, literally. It took video of the man making statements, and showing multiple media outlets calling him and his cabinet out when he failed to deliver on his promises. Not to mention his double speak.
You know what, I do like Obama. I just don't agree with him. I agree with alot of what he says I just don't agree with what he ultimately does. I just can't get past that. He seems like a good man, a good husband, a good father, and a good natured man and I'm sure he is all of these things but the end result of what he thinks is right for this country is ultiimately destructive though I don't believe that to be his objective.

Don't like him but I think he's going to win.
ASSOCIATED PRESS — Nearly 6 Million people, mostly middle-class, to be hit with Obama-care Tax penalty
http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/...ef95fda77612f7
One of the most interesting aspects of that article is this:
Many Republicans still regard the insurance mandate as unconstitutional and rue the day the Supreme Court upheld it.
However, the idea for an individual insurance requirement comes from Republican health care plans in the 1990s.
It's also a central element of the 2006 Massachusetts health care law signed by then-GOP Gov. Mitt Romney, now running against Obama and promising to repeal the federal law.
Romney spokeswoman Andrea Saul said Wednesday the new report is more evidence that Obama's law is a "costly disaster."
Oh, and that the repub's are quoted or touched on 5 times in this article.
I think the most interesting aspect is that the people who need the help the most are the ones who are about to be nailed by the tax penalties, like they can really afford that. But hey, democrats are all for the middle and lower class! They just need to pay their fair share of taxes too!
Sucks, doesn't it?
For the moment, this law is in place. It is what it is.
From the article?
And the budget office analysis found that nearly 80 percent of those who'll face the penalty would be making up to or less than five times the federal poverty level. Currently that would work out to $55,850 or less for an individual and $115,250 or less for a family of four.
Average penalty: about $1,200 in 2016.
So much for that promise Obama made saying that there would be no taxes imposed on those making less than $250K per year..
Well they passed it and we are, indeed, finding out what's in it...little by little...the same procedure one follows when boiling live a frog.
Then there's QE3...another gift to to Wall Street banksters at the expense of the middle class. Of course QE3 isn't Obama's deal...that belongs to Big Ben, one of B.O.'s bosses.
The truth is certainly beginning to come out about the man who claims to want to help the middle and lower classes. Giving out more in welfare, foodstamps, etc. is not helping them, it is enslaving them. What will those people do when the economy crashes again, and all of a sudden, there's no welfare or foodstamps?
Its the middle class thats going to get hit. They earn too much for the subsidies and will get hit with the tax if they don't comply. True story, when I went to court for custody of my kids my ex had to fill out an income declaration. The women had income of less than 2000/ mo but had more disposable income than I did and I was making 100K. Reason being, she paid no taxes, had most of her rent subsidized (section 8), had food stamps, WIC, mediCal (the state paid for her healthcare at a $5 copay), and she was getting money to go to school.
Me, I have a mortgage with no help, have health insurance with no help, pay for 100% of my living expenses etc...... I'm not asking for sympathy, I like earning my way but people like my ex are poor on paper, but if they know all of the subsidies and entitlements they can get they can live rather well. BTW, the income she was getting was disability because she convinced a doctor she couldn't sit long and oh yeah, the child support I was paying her.
This is the inequity that many in my position point to. I pay taxes, but consume nothing more than roads, schools and parks. She pays no taxes, but consumes a middle class lifestyle paid by the tax payers. It is no coincidence that I went tot the right after my divorce.
That's what the DHS is for.
On another subject: This is sickening. The ego of Obama.

The fundamental flaw in the "you didn't build that" comment and his surrounding commentary about infrastructure and "teachers" or whatever is that everyone basically has that so it is the baseline from which we all operate from. What happens above and beyond that is based on personal initiative and hard work and his remarks minimizes that. In any classroom there are kids who get A's and F's and everything in between. They have the same teacher, pencils, desks, chairs etc.... yet they get different grades, why? It is the individual.
Yeah thats nasty.
So is this:

I especially like this one:
Im guessing the fine print says something to this effect - Systematically outsourcing them to India and China to the detriment of the American worker who lost theirs after I bought the company employing him/her/shim/cher and fired them because cheap foreign labor lines my holy Mormon garments with a sensuous anti-American Worker sensation of reptilian green skinned satisfaction.
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.
I'm guessing the fine print says:
"Warning: may contain traces of bullshit.
Braincase actual size. Yes, I really am THIS white - robots have no blood. Batteries not included. Some assembly required. Contains small parts - not suitable for children or their grandparents. The manufacturer undertakes no warranty of job creation whether express or implied. Read directions before using. My name is Mitt Romney and I massage this support, ehm I mean 'support this message'."
[QUOTE=Bidmor;1318090]That's what the DHS is for.
. . ./QUOTE]
Damn, I thought the Department of Homeland Security exists to grab your guns and put you in re-education camp.
Someone at DHS is about to receive a very strongly worded letter of complaint.
In the article you posted, it says "A spokeswoman for the Obama administration said 98 percent of Americans will not be affected by the tax penalty — and suggested that those who will be should face up to their civic responsibilities." So, 98% of over 300 million people will not be affected...yet, later in the next paragraph it says, "the budget office said the penalty will raise $6.9 billion in 2016." Which is it? This article seems contradictory.
*Show of hands*
How many people believe Obama is, in fact, the anti-christ??
Really? The "welfare queen" argument? How is receiving welfare, enslavement? |
Let me break it down like this: Single mother and child household (in the state of Ohio) : $315 received per month for food stamps.
If you need CASH assistance, you must show up to the place you are assigned (doesn't matter if it's far away and you don't have a car). You are to work @ least 20 hours a week/per month, to receive $200 (MONTHLY) in cash assistance, that is placed on a welfare, card.
Do you really believe people would rather receive welfare, than have a regular 20hr/week job? They would make double what they get from assistance.
Do you really believe people like going to the welfare dept. or giving their kids a "free ticket" lunch? It saddens me to think that there are people like you, that believe that. I'm sure there are people who abuse it, in some ways. The ones that DON'T, you INCLUDE in your statement.
Imagine losing everything, and having to ask the government to help support you..it's NOT something most people would want. Much rather work at a job, make their children proud of them, and receive much more money.
IMHO
Ah but the first rule of "Obama-is-the-Anti-Christ Club" is you do not talk about "Obama-is-the-Anti-Christ Club". Just like the first rule of "International Jewish Banking Cartel Conspiracy Club" is you do not mention the Rothschilds or the Jews. Otherwise the uninitiated will think you are batshit crazy and possibly an antisemite.
Maybe Robney is the anti-Christ. After all he's a wealthy Morman who believes that when Christ returns to earth, there will be two temples erected...one in Jerusalem, and the other in Missouri.
My ex wife has made a career out of being a welfare queen. Absolutely adds nothing to the economy but sucks five figures out of it. California even pays her to go to school. She gets within a unit of graduating then switches majors. She knows once she does, she'll be expected to get a job but she doesn't want to do something that dumb.
Remember the lady who said on record that the government is responsible for helping to pay for all of her kids? They are out there so even though you paint a sympathetic argument the reverse of that is true as well. Especially in a state like CA where all of the "rules" you describe for getting aid do not exist. Do you think my ex and people like her would be a little more motivated to find work if their next meal depended on it? Of course and that is the point he was making.
.
There are more people out there than you'd like to admit who would rather sit on their ass and collect welfare than get a job. I'm not referring to those who use assistance to get back on their feet, I'm talking about people who have been on it for years and refuse to do anything to help themselves get off of it.
Hell, my mother-in-law like that. I've been with their daughter for more than 12 years and her mom REFUSES to go get a damn job. She'd rather sit at home, watch TV and collect food stamps. All the while, she wants to bitch about never having money, despite the fact she turned down a job that offered her $15 an hour and 40 hours a week.
Then you have your people who would rather get on assistance and go hustle drugs rather than get a job. The town next to mine is FULL of people like that. 50K + people in that town, and they have estimated that over half are on assistance.
My problem is that instead of focusing on creating jobs, this president has made it easier to get welfare, while refusing to sign off on bills that would create jobs. THAT is enslaving the public. Make them reliable on the government, then when they don't obey you, cut the assistance off and force their hand. Don't be so blind as to think the government wouldn't do it. That is why small government is key and crucial to the longevity of this country.
There are freakin' billboards in my town advertising government aid and they don't make it sound anywhere near the stigmatic experience that JenAdams makes it out to be.
It's the same reason they don't want you to feed the bears in Yellowstone. They get dependent on the quick easy meal because it is the path of least resistance. Sure a salmon would be nice but you have to find a river and get wet. Much easier to sit by the road and get a twinkie.

"That is why small government is key and crucial to the longevity of this country." -SRVFan (can't get quote w/reply, at this time)
That thinking is what would bring this country, down.
Giving a lot of power to states, would result in defunding of schools, libraries, hell even roads. Everyone would want their taxes going to different things.
It would require everyone to do the right thing, at the right time. Also, look at our history..Civil Wars started bc of this thought process. We are supposed to be the UNITED States, not states or even counties, with different rules and programs. It's a pipe dream, sponsored by the GOP.
Maybe he meant bears as in the gay subculture. I must admit I thought they preferred bathhouses to national parks.
"Death has come to your little town, Sheriff." -Dr. Loomis
I think you get the point and it goes way past what I compared to what. The instinctual drive between a bear and a human as it pertains to the path of least resistance is the same. I tried to use a really basic illustration to make a point and it still got lost. Like you said, WOW.
Nope. This is classic. Everyone knows damn well what I mean but choose to focus on the comparison instead of the concept. If you want to argue that someone on perpetual welfare is no less motivated to get a job than someone without such a safety net than fine but to keep harping on the fact I used a bear to illustrate a larger concept as if I was equalizing humans and bears is silly.

& boy wonder, Paul Ryan will have Social Security reformed, before he touches welfare!
"Sorry, Grandma...I know you need an ambulance, but that will cost us $800...and you used up your voucher getting your diabetes meds, for the month..but don't worry, you're probably gonna die anyway!"
Darwinism? Who said Darwinism??
Maybe Paul should type it a little slower next time.
If humans feed the bears, the bears get used to being fed by the humans and will eventually quit seeking their own food.
Keep putting people on welfare and people will get used to having welfare and will eventually quit looking for jobs. It is already happening.
