Isnt it like this in the US too? I will take a serious stab at this.....

Sex is a part of the marital union and lack thereof can create grounds for divorce. I know at one time not consummating the union was grounds for divorce too but I dont know if that still stands. Maybe each state has its laws, I dunno. But it was a law at one time geared mainly in favor of men (big shocker there). If the old lady wont put out, dump her and get someone who will!
