Well that settles it Howie, I'm sending you down some good ol' Canadian stayinwarm clothes. We know what we're doing when it comes to keeping the cold off. Got something in mind for you already...(and no. It's not my legs)

Great .... we celebrate duping the indians into having dinner with the original settlers only so we could later slaughter them and take their land, then move their tribes to designated land hundreds of miles away

This is why I dont do anything for thanksgiving

Hey Kim - I'm going to put together a REAL care package for our Howie - complete with a Kenora dinner jacket. Our friend will never be cold again

Maybe we should all send her some stuff?

    Thank you Duster!
Actually Thanksgiving is my least favorite holiday of the year. All it is is work work work in the kitchen and if you're lucky you can sit for a minute and visit with whomever you have over to eat but then after you all eat it's clean clean clean the kitchen and try to find a place to put away the leftovers. Last year it took me 2 solid hours by myself and 2 dishwasher loads to clean up my kitchen while everybody sat in the living room and watched football. I only had one guest and he was my husbands brother but still.....

It kind of reminds me of camping. You go set up camp, then all the dishes have to be washed by hand and the food is difficult to prepare because you don't have your usual kitchen stuff and for some reason the menfolk think it's the womenfolks job to handle the food while they go off fishing or snooze under a tree. I never understood that. Anyway, that's what Thanksgiving reminds me of and again thank you Duster for recognizing our holiday next week. I'm always so glad Thanksgiving is over I put up my Christmas tree the next day.

LOL There are lots at Canadian Tire still... But I'm sending Howie the one I've had for about 20 years - and which has never been washed (in line with the rules of use for a KDJ.)

Things for Which to be Thankful:

Trains, cars, airplanes, horses and buggies that allow us to travel great distances to share Thanksgiving with our loved ones.

The spouse who complains when dinner is not on time, because s/he is home with me, not with someone else.

The teenager who is complaining about doing dishes, because that means she is at home & not on the streets.

The mess to clean after a party because it means I have been surrounded by friends.

The taxes I pay because it means that I'm employed.

The clothes that fit a little too snug because it means I have enough to eat.

My shadow who watches me work because it means I am out in the sunshine.

A lawn that needs mowing, windows that need cleaning and gutters that need fixing because it means I have a home.

All the complaining I hear about our government because it means we have freedom of speech.

The space I find at the far end of the parking lot because it means I am capable of walking.

My huge heating bill because it means I am warm.

The lady behind me in church who sings off key because it means that I can hear.

The piles of laundry and ironing because it means I have clothes to wear.

Weariness and aching muscles at the end of the day because it means I have been productive.

The alarm that goes off in the early morning hours because it means that I'm alive.

Getting too much email that bogs me down but at least I know I have friends who are thinking of me.
