This guy always freaked me out, even as a kid.

Ah, he was wonderful. Such a sweet show. He always used to do craft projects and say, "and now we cut the construction paper, like so..." I hear those words in my head every time I cut construction paper.

The keys jingling until the hit the spot....oh yeah, I loved the Captain....he was still on when my daughter was little but they had tried to " modern " him up, and it just didn`t work for me....kid didn`t like it either, although for some strange reason she loved Mr. Rogers....only half hour of the day the girl was quiet.....

I remember watching him back in the day. Mr. Moose and the ping pong balls!

I had a friend that was actually "shown" in the Magic Mirror. I was impressed with that. I didn't think anyone still knew about Romper Room.

I was such a big Captain fan I use to have actual dreams of going to NYC to be on his show. It was a great kid's show - I really enjoyed the Magic Drawing Board segments.

Wow, talk about a blast from the past. I LOVED Captain Kangaroo and Mr. Green Jeans. I also watched Romper Room faithfully LOL.......and was always disappointed that they never did my name. waaaaaaaaaaa! These shows were truly child oriented. I have to confess that I think they were much more age appropriate than Sesame Street and the later things that came along. Oh well........anyway, thanks for posting his grave marker. Makes me sad. I think Keeshan crusaded a lot for kids and helped them out a lot.

Bob Keeshan was also the original Clarabelle The Clown on "The Howdy Doody Show". He also had a Saturday morning show called Mister Mayor during the 1964-65 season.
