Thread: Prince Albert of Monaco to marry

  1. #51

The Daily Mail (UK) is reporting that rumors are swirling of a THIRD child born out of wedlock. Also said Charlene was stopped at the airport when the officials confiscated her passport until the Prince's entourage could catch up with her to talk it over.

Wow, what if she just refused to get into the dress?????

Albert and Charlene just had their civil ceremony. Tomorrow is the Religious ceremony.
How come the princes of modern day are bald. They were never bald in fairy tales.

Prince Albert II of Monaco and former Olympic swimmer Charlene Wittstock wed in a civil ceremony July 1, 2011.

When asked if they take each other in marriage, both quietly responded "Oui." Their union is the first of a ruling prince in Monaco since Albert's father, Prince Rainier III, married Hollywood actress Grace Kelly in 1956. Wittstock wore a Chanel blue jacket with ankle-length pants.

A more elaborate religious ceremony will be held July 2, 2011 in Monaco's royal palace. Celebrities attending the event will include supermodel Naomi Campbell and designer Karl Lagerfeld. Wittstock's gown was designed by Roberto Cavalli and Giorgio Armani. The wedding will be the first for a reigning prince in Monaco since Albert's late parents, Grace Kelly and Prince Rainier, wed in 1956. (Eric Gaillard/AP Photo)

She doesn't look happy - neither of them do. Check out the look on Albert's face in that pic where she's leaning against him.

I have a friend in Spain that I Skype with. But I use prepaid cell service so it's usually just an extra 10 bucks a month for international calls. I just don't make that many to pay the extra.

The body language in their wedding pictures is indeed odd. I see a physical distance that appears forced. Looking at Prince Albert's expressions, he doesn't appear to be showing joy in his eyes; in other words, he is smiling only with his mouth.

The pictures of them together look more like a father escorting his daughter to her wedding.

    What's the story here?

I don't care for the blazer with car wash pants- odd look. A straight skirt would have been more flattering. That pale aqua,"duck egg" color is big this year.

I agree, they don't present as a couple madly in love.
They seem more like Charles and Diana, than William and Kate. She's a big girl; I hope she has an excellent pre-nup because whatever flaws this man has, he's too old to change.

Right before Grace married Rainier he said in an interview that she was retiring from acting. Sounded odd coming from him rather than the Oscar winning actress...like it was one of the terms of the contract. Supposedly Grace was unhappy about this- maybe she wanted to make her own decision- and had to keep herself busy doing Princess charity work.

There is a video of the wedding up on youtube that shows Charlene at the altar - she is alternately weeping and staring into space, like she's on something.

Princess Stephanie Looks like a HOE with a lot of miles. Tattoos, sour expression, illegitimate children. I can't stand her. Caroline is a bit classy, but she's married to an arrogant butthole.

Princess Caroline's daughter, Charlotte, looks anorexic, especially in the civil ceremony photos...I would venture to guess that there some major dysfunction going on with every member of the Grimaldi family. Marry into that? Ummmm...a resounding NO.

Here's one vid--- haven't the patience to view more (I already know how it ends), and this one has a lot of close-ups.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vnr9m5KDf7s

The new Princess does look depressed, except for a smile when she apparently had a a little glitch shoving the wedding ring onto Prince Sausage Fingers there. The pecky little wedding kiss didn't bother me-- I now they had to have Holy Communion right after, you don't do passionate kisses before THAT--- but their lips barely contacted and even after it was just more pecks. Not much hand-holding either. Albie's winking at Charlene had more warmth. Familiarity breeds ennui I guess.

And whassup with the costumes on those little bridesmaids? I didn't think Monaco was big enough to have a "traditional native costume" if that's what they were supposed to be. All those attendants, moreover, seemed kind of useless--- that half-mile of bridal train was just alllowed to drag all over the pavement.

Thanks for posting Linnie. Hadn't seen any video yet.
My first reaction is Prince Charles & Diana revisited. Political marriages are nothing new, but he's not even making the effort. Look how far apart they're sitting in the car. No friendly exchanges, hand holding- nothing intimate. Wish I could read lips- want to know what he said to her when she was weeping as the little girl sang. Bet it was something like "Control yourself Darling, you're on camera"
Love the Armani gown- a beautiful, but sad bride.

I love the little bridesmaids- very South of France.

65 million for a wedding to keep the money and title within the family and promote Monaco.

Grace Kelly did more for Monaco with her image and presence than any of the Grimaldi's. She brought millions into the country.

Charlene has been groomed for ten years to be beautiful blond princess of Monaco and create the heir apparent.

I watched part of the wedding and the drive in the, "Lexus." I thought I was watching the travel channel ...

Bet's on ... baby within a year, Albert's getting up there in years ...

These pics are painful....even the traditional ceremony too! No happiness, no love, no warmth. The Royalty of Monaco....hmph, Prince Albert (smug), Princess Stephanie (crypt keeper), Princess Caroline (ok), Princess Alexander (eh).

ITA- as we all know now, Diana had many second thoughts about going through with her marriage to Charles, and we all know what happened there. As another poster mentioned, Albert is now 53 and will not be changing his ways...selfish, selfish, selfish, spoiled, spoiled, spoiled immature little boy he is. Thinking that it is the woman's responsibility, he shirks off any thought of birth control and ends up with two out of wedlock children- they are 13 years apart in age, so Albert has been doing the same selfish thing for many years.

This wedding was as cold as they come- UUUGGGHHHH. Physically and emotionally distant, peck kisses...Albert looks as if he can't stand for her to get near him- well, he certainly is not all that he thinks he is. Charlene will regret marrying into this dysfunctional family and should already have gotten a big wake up call as to what a huge mistake this is.

These kingdoms and fiefdoms ... learned a lesson from both Diana and Fergie. Women marrying into the, "family," need to be well prepped.

Charlene has been in preparation for ten years, the last five living with Albert, learning protocol, studying French, etc.

Grace Kelly was unhappy living in the closed, gossip fueled little country of Monaco. She wanted to return to acting, and was not allowed to, (Monaco first).

Charlene may or may not have regrets ... She'll have her little dutiful required appearances for charity, and raising her children may compensate for her restricted life.

For her sake I hope there are children right away. Like Diana, she'll be able to carve out a public life and find fulfillment with her children.

With that 20 year age difference, she may find she's busy representing Monaco in public more and more as Albert ages.

Does anyone know what will happen if Albert dies before an heir is born?
I know before it was Caroline or one of her children!

Beautiful young people, but odd the photographer caught all 3 of them staring out in space like zombies....they look like somebody on Dr. Who!

Seems like that family never got over Grace's untimely death.

And will Prince Albert be subjected to another paternity test or are the tabs simply attempting to sell a story on the day of the wedding ...

In looking at the pics of both Caroline and Stephanie it's easy to see the effects of smoking, both are extremely wrinkled.

Monaco ... is hoping for an economic boost with this wedding. Tourism has dropped 9%, gamblng, 14%.

The British press is really running with this story. The Daily Mail says the issue is that Albert and Charlene have been together for five years and he may have been cheating- hence the new child. (heard somewhere it's an 18 month old toddler)

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...eated-her.html

The kids are public evidence- wonder how much other unprotected sex has been going on there? The old saying is when you are intimate with someone, you've also been everyone else he's ever been with- uh, yuck!
I predict he better change his ways fast.....he's done too many women wrong over the years.

Princess Caroline has some gorgeous young sons, so the "succession" is secure. Why all this hoop la at this point in life?

Caroline still looks good, she's 54 years old. Stephanie looks like she spent way too much time in the sun.

The mother of his son who is in the above picture, Yikes! He must have been drunk, high, and temporarily blind the night he had sex with her. I'm sorry, she is butt fucking ugly!!!!!

Of the three children, Albert seems to be the one who most resembled Grace. Poor kid never had much hair (Grandpa Kelly was bald, so maybe male pattern baldness from Grace?) http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_nOTX16uMiW...%252BKelly.jpg

Why would Prince Albert be faithful? He had a child during the time he was with Charlene. She's been groomed for ten years, five of those years living with him.

Charlene's being well paid for her service to Monaco. The economy needed a boost, good time for a marriage and a baby.

I don't believe Caroline's children are interested in becoming the next Prince or Princess of Monaco. They have lived most of their lives in Europe.

I wasn't sure if this is the right thread to post this but I thought I'd add it here anyway.

I just saw on Yahoo that Princess Caroline is about to become a grandmother. And in typical Grimaldi fashion her son and his girlfriend aren't married. I think they are engaged though. Man, this family is as fertile as the Napa Valley.

Meanwhile, back in Monaco, Albert and his bride don't seem to be working very hard at producing an heir. LOL.

Yes Princess Caroline is now a grandmother. Princess Charlene must be a tad nervous.

She's digging a tunnel out of the palace, just like Andy in the Shawshank Redemption.

LOL, I'm sure she has a poster of Prince Harry on her wall to cover the entrance to the tunnel.

Here are Albert, Charlene, and the 8 month old twins.

Charlene looks good, not necessarily happy, but good.

Damn, that has got to be the whitest family on the face of the earth.

We can only hope that someone sends them a wedding present of "Prince Albert in a Can"......How cool would that be?
To my Father. Even though you have crossed the plane, you will always be with me.
You were not just my Father, but my hero. My life has been a poor attempt to be like you
You taught me music, vocals, and how to fight. I can only hope I am half the man you are
When I close my eyes I can see you. And finally, Thank you Dad. for everything.

Those kids are cute but I agree that wife does not look happy, nor does their body language.

I always wondered if Prince Albert had a Prince Albert
Some compare Elvis to God.. I mean He is good, but He is no Elvis
