I need this!!!!!! I wouldn't have to worry about the neighbors when I get the bass out..

Only drawback for me is lack of garage space. I've got 7 cars that need to stay inside...LOL

    I ALWAYS had that problem!

I would love that place. Honestly, I would not have a problem with no windows or view. When I want outside, I go outside.

I saw something like this on Travel channel or HGTV or something way back when. The missle is gone, the control panel was either gone or been dismantled beyond repair, its their own cute souvigner of the cold war from the middle 1950s to the 1980s. Seems like a unique thing in theory but life revolves around sunlight. Every living thing needs sun to thrive. This would be kewl to visit but id never live there, kinda like Los Angeles

I usually don't get much sun inside my house, even though it has a good assortment of windows. That said, I bet you could light-pipe sunshine into the silo if you wanted to. Ventilation is another thing, you'd have to pipe in air from the outside to flush out stale air.

You'd get good exercise going up and down those stairs.
I wonder what moving day was like?
And the workmen moving stuff in and out.

You don't have to ask me why he would want to move from Chicago to live there in peace. I would love to be in his shoes and own one of these silos. Put mine on a couple of hundred acres to make sure no one else can be seen or heard when I was outside and it would be perfect.

That does look cool. I would NOT want to have to walk those stairs though.

    This comment cracked me up...

"There are two types of bachelor: voluntary and involuntary. Voluntary gets laid. A lot. Involuntary lives in an abandoned missile silo in Abilene spending his not-getting-any time sending digital photos to Wired."
