Wishful dead pool; who truly deserves execution?

If you could give the death penalty, who could you pull the switch on or pay someone to pull it for you? I could do it; I realize that doesn't say much about my ability to "turn the other cheek". My list includes just about every guilty (convicted or not) murderer and pedophile. The combo child rapists/murderers go first in line.

If the person is not well known, please provide a juicy story on why the person truly deserves to die in your opinion.

I really want this thread to stay open; respect different opionions. Please let us share us lists without violating the forum's rules below.

Do not personally attack any other forum member, including belittling him in words or images. Allowed: Calling a public figure an idiot. Posting digitally altered pictures to mock a celebrity. Ribbing people on the forum that you know and are in on the joke and are not offended by a little give and take.

No No, It doesn't upset me, I respect peoples opinions, and I understand it's what happens in America.
I just don't see how you can kill someone, who kills someone, to to teach them that killing is wrong. I just think these people need to be locked up for life, and studied, pyschologicaly, so we can try and understand what causes people to kill. I just don't see how killing people is ever going to solve anything, it doesn't prevent murder from happening. Your just dumping another body on the pile.

I DO see your point. but, I always agreed with the "live by the sword/die by the sword" way of justice. I had a friend and her 2 young children murdered in '97. and the scum that killed them got the death penalty, only to have it turned into a life sentence by our crooked governer right before he left office. FUCK YOU GEORGE RYAN!!!! add that fucker to the list.

I know and I understand what your saying, and how angry you must be, but do you not think that person should have been studied to see what made him kill? One day those findings could help prevent 1 or more people being killed in the future.

Well....in America alone we have 2 million people incarcerated.....something seriously wrong here folks....instead of spending my tax-dollars on keeping these scum alive with their color TV`s and better health care than most honset Americans get, I say get it over with...the only problem I have with it is the endless appeals and BS that go with being on death row....I also feel DNA should be proven without a doubt before the death penality is even considered.....unless we have a case of " no doubt about it "....is it a deterent to crime ??....at this point probably not....but the thought that Manson is still breathing the same air as me really chaps my ass.....and instead of a needle and putting them to sleep, they should die the way their victims did....now that may be a deterent.....I respect everyone`s beliefs concerning this, but I have had a member of my family murdered, and I know for a fact that fucker will get out someday, while my 40 year old cousin stays 40 forever.....

this guy, along with his girlfriend, went into this apt and CUT this ladies baby out of her tummy (it was his child, they broke up), stabbed her daughter, and kidnapped and stabbed her son later that night, bumping his body in an alley way. sorry, I don't feel sorry for this asshole. he SHOULD be put to death.

    Just my opinion.

I find it distasteful to bash our country's leader. True enough, I am not impressed with him whatsoever, in the least, at all, in any way. He will be in office until he is not in office. We can't do anything about it. In the meantime, we look really silly to other countries. I know we are free to do what we will and say what we will. I don't know where to recommend drawing the line between free speech and blatant, utter disrespect for our own country. Bush will be out of office, but this will still be our country and I don't want to further damage it by speaking disrespectfully of who's running it.

The position he is in deserves more respect. Just my opinion, I FULLY understand reading others' opinions and I agree way more than you know.

And finally, my vote is O.J. Now THAT is a switch I wish I could pull myself. And also anyone who hurts kids.

Watch. O.J. will die some horrible death and no one will be able to save him. No one will be to blame either, something dreadful will happen to him naturally. My guess? Prostate cancer. Unfortunately not by the hands of his victims or their families.

(((Morbid Molly))) My dear, sweet friend. I so agree, but hope Cheney is on his lap when they pull the switch.

Charles Manson, Tex Watson, and Sirhan Sirhan top my list. Stanley Tooky Williams was also a victory for decent people. My list is too long to post here.

Hmmmmm... lets see. Years of my tax dollars paying for some murdering scum bag's lawyer fees, up keep, lodging, feeding, medical bills, college education while incarcerated, cable TV, or a 22 cent accurately fired bullet that avenges the taking of a life and protects society? I'll take door number 2 Monty.

Life in prison is only worse than death if the person serving time has a conscience.

Richard Allen Davis? Doesn't give a shit. He doesn't fucking care that he's on death row for killing Polly Klaas. He's just pissed he got caught.

Ted Bundy? Didn't care that he had time to think about what he'd done. He just wanted to bargain for life in prison so he wouldn't be put to death.

For those of us who wouldn't just kill people in cold blood, life in prison would be HORRIBLE. All that time to think about how you took someone else's life? Yeah, it would be wretched.

But for the true sociopath? He/She just does not care. They're just pissed they're in jail in the first place, because they have no empathy for anyone else.

I agree with you 100% about that. Personally since the question was posed who we would execute if we had that power, I know that there are loads of evil folks sharing the planet with us but I personally couldn't intentionally take the life of another. Even if I were to cause accidental death, I'd be a basket case.

I dont know that there is all that much to study in these minds and even tho I disagree with the death penalty for a few reasons like sometimes innocent men/women are executed.

I got the feeling that King County pretty much shared his opinion of the women he killed....all his crimes were NHI, or No Humans Involved.

Those 48 women were people. They were daughters, mothers, sisters, aunts, and people miss them every day. But, because the majority were prostitutes? Nope, it's all NHI.

I fully believe...any human being who consciously takes another's life......should pay with their own...
In this country, the death penalty is a way of life...everyone knows of its existance...its even glorified in entertainment industries (ie Death Row Records)...its not like a murderer can go to trial and be shocked if they bring it up. They commit a crime KNOWING what their own fate can be if caught, if that is not enough deterrant, then they deserve to pay for the life they took. And I do agree with it. The principal of the matter is..I have seen prisoners live quite nicely on my tax dollars...whereas I am a law abiding citizen, who works hard and pays my taxes, and has to make certain sacrifices, sometimes living without water, electricity, a car or whatever, due to financial constraints, they commit a heinous act, and never have to pay an electricity bill again. Some of them live better than I have in the past. Where is the justice in THAT?? I live in a great country, whether I fully believe in all its laws and policies, I still support the country as a whole....I have no problem paying my taxes to continue with my freedoms, but paying my hard earned dollars to support those who have no regard for life or anything else for that matter...I have a problem with that....

    Wow, interesting and thought-provoking thread.

For years I was very much pro-death penalty, but something changed when I had my kids. These horrible, hideous excuses for human beings were at one time sweet little babies just like my kids, but somewhere along the line their lives took a left turn. And as much as I would like to believe that God just loves me and all the people who I approve of, it pisses me off to no end that He loves murderers and rapists and Osama Bin Laden and George Bush and Paris Hilton and Charles Manson too. Shit!

So in clear conscious, I could not execute anyone. My concern is that when someone is young and stupid, they may not realize the impact their actions had on their victims and the victim's families. But if they got to think about it for 40-50 years sitting in the slammer, it one day might occur to them that what they did is wrong, cause them to seek forgiveness and make amends, and when death finally comes to them on God's terms, they will be at peace. If they were put to death when they were still young and cocky, they would be robbed of their eventual redemption. I have even told my husband that if were to ever be murdered, I don't want my family or the prosecution to seek the death penalty. It would make me so happy if I could still show mercy to another human being, even after I was dead.

That said, I think the prison system is a joke. I work full time, have an exhausting commute, and have two small children. Sometimes I think how nice it would be to have my own little cell, watch TV, have meals cooked for me and take lots of naps. My idea is to have the family and friends of the convicted felon pay for the care and feeding of their loved one, not the honest, law-abiding tax payer. If the family is wealthy, they get to go to a country club type of prison. If the family is poor, the convict gets to stay in a vermin-infested prison that has no indoor plumbing or electricity, and they have to work a ten hour day doing something that is useful to society in order to have food to eat. For those who have no family or friends to help pay for their prison stay, they get a one-way ticket to an island inhabited by cannibals, and dropped off on the beach right after they are slathered with ketcup.

While I couldn't ever execute anyone, it would sure be gratifying bring together the likes of George Bush, Hugo Chavez, Bill and Hillary Clinton, Carrot Top, Kobe Briant, Donald Trump, Rosie O'Donnell, Ann Coulter, Geraldo Rivera, Jerry Springer, every auditor employed by the IRS, people who won't let you into their lane on the freeway, and anyone else who is in one way, shape or form evil, dishonest or abusive. They would be sentenced to a minimum of three months Jury Duty, where the only channel the TV gets is the home shopping network. Their diet would consist soley of tap water, cheese whiz, liver and brussel sprouts.

I think I will stop now, thanks for letting me rant!
Any day above ground is a good day.
