After several days of brooding, Helen McCloskey, 26, motion picture actress, put on her wedding veil, prayed before the statue of a saint in her room and flung herself out of a window into a courtyard two floors below. She was in a serious condition at a hospital today, suffering from a possible fracture of the skull and a broken arm.

A year ago Mrs. McCloskey returned from Hollywood, where she had been playing minor roles in films. Her friends said she became depressed recently when she had learned that her former husband, Joseph McCloskey, of Hollywood, had married again.

(She died two days later.)
