What a screwed up family man!
I saw video of the funeral and saw Griffin and his wife (holding their cute baby)
outside the Church.
Sad as Griffin wanted to attend the funeral with his family as he seemed
to love Farrah and knew her for years.
I would have let them in as I don't think there would have been trouble.
But then this is the O'Neal family here.
Weren't Ryan and Griffin arguing over drugs? I thought they were both charged with manufacturing and using meth?..I thought that's what I read not too long ago.
Ryan used to be a really nice looking man..back in the Love Story days...
Beautiful picture!

Saw this where it says she spoke to ex-hubby Lee Majors a few months prior to her death..

This was Redmond and Ryan, not Griffin. Ryan was arrested for this also.
Here is the article.
Drugs were my son Redmond's, says Ryan O'Neal

Ryan O'Neal's arrest picture
LOS ANGELES - Actor Ryan O'Neal is "very upset" the Los Angeles district attorney decided to charge him with felony drug possession Wednesday, his lawyer told the Daily News.
The drugs found in the 67-year-old actor's Malibu home Sept. 17 weren't his, the lawyer said. They belonged to Redmond O'Neal, the star's 23-year-old son with actress Farrah Fawcett, O'Neal's lawyer Mark Werksman said.
"The drugs in the house were Redmond's. They weren't Ryan's. He doesn't use drugs. This is really painful for him. Dealing with Redmond's addiction has been the bane of his existence," Werksman said. "Ryan is very upset about this, as you can expect."
Redmond was placed on probation following his June guilty plea for felony drug possession. Both father and son were arrested after deputies searching the home as a condition of Redmond's probation allegedly found the drugs.
"We would not have filed the charges if we did not think the evidence supported them," said district attorney spokeswoman Sandi Gibbons.

I believe Redmond was shackled but was allowed to wear street clothes. The family would have to reimburse LA County for the time of travel and the guards' salaries. They paid $1200 for Redmond to visit in April. Truly a merciful thing the judge did.
The whole thing with Griffin/Tatum/Ryan. Just read Tatum's book and you get a sense of what dysfunction it is being an O'Neal. Tatum lost custody of her kids for many years because of her drug problem. These kids have paid such a cost. I hope some healing can come from this and I hope Redmond will keep his promise to his Mom that he would never do drugs again.
I know the attraction is strong with some women and "bad" boys and perhaps that's what she saw in Ryan. I never really cared much for him, and I agree, he did always seem angry and I can imagine between his drug use and a bad temper, life was not easy for any woman involved with him. Didn't he marry Leigh Taylor Young and they had a child, but she was smart even to get the hell away from him, and took her child with her.
I think at one point, Farrah looked around at Ryan and his children and saw what a train wreak they all were, and didn't want to get legally involved with it all by marrying him. And did Ryan want to marry her before her death, because he might then be entitled legally to any money she makes after her death and some stars do make more after their death. I just think Ryan would be the jerk he is and get Redmond legally declared incompentant and then he would cash in.
I also think that Ryan wanted to portray himself as some kind of hero standing by her side, but it has had the opposite effect, and the cherry on top is this kissing of the woman on the same day as Farrah's funeral. It's easy to not like this guy.
I think someone mention she was the one to leave Lee Majors, I was wondering about the circumstances of their divorce. I always liked her with Majors. I see him now on commericials for "The Bionic Ear", hearing aid.
I got this from wikipedia.org. It is a quote from Farrah after she separated from Lee Majors........................................... After they split, Fawcett famously said, "If he's the six-million-dollar man, I'm the ten-billion-dollar woman." When Fawcett passed away on June 25, 2009, after her three-year-long battle with anal cancer, Majors issued a statement which read, "She fought a tremendous battle against a terrible disease. She was an angel on earth and now an angel forever."

I will be going to Westwood Memorial Cemetery this morning. I will try to post some pictures here once I return. I will of course visit the gravesite of Farrah Fawcett. This will be the second time I have visited this cemetery in the 20 years I have lived in Westwood.
Evidently Farrah wasn't crazy about the institution of marriage. Whether that was based on her own financial protection strategy or she just wasn't "the marrying kind" by nature or a combination of both, it served her well in the end regarding her estate (so far).
I think it was in her second Barbara Walters interview Farrah stated that she was going to marry Ryan because "my parents were on my case about it", which sounded a bit reluctant to me. But when she realized she would soon die, I'm thinking she decided not to go through with a wedding in order to help protect her estate and son from Ryan.
The incident with Ryan and the brunette after the funeral doesn't surprise me. I remember seeing video of a few papas converging on him as he was getting in his car. Off camera, one of the papas is heard "How's Farrah?". Ryan didn't reply and got into his car, window down, and closed the door. Again off camera came "How's Farrah?". O'Neal looked toward the camera with his left fist in view and thumb pointing toward the cameras and in a calm, matter of fact voice and tone said "she's gone". He then put the car in gear and sped off...leaving me with the impression of him saying "ah she's dead, guys...see ya later...I got stuff to do". His demeanor struck me as totally opposite from his formal announcement of her death.
As I stated previously, Farrah had fierce self confidence and a determined independent personality, like that of Katherine Hepburn.

Bidmor, I agree. I was watching a show about her the other day. Her parents were NOT happy that she was living with Lee Majors, so she pretty much married him to make them happy.
Don't forget, on that Barbara Walters special called "Farrah's Love", Ryan said that when he asked her to marry him this last time she managed to say "prenup" and Ryan was shocked!!
Nice pictures, I hope Farrah is happy. On The Lee Majors thing, I was surprises that she got a Catholic annulment for that. You usually only need this if you plan to marry again. Being that Ryan was also divorced twice doesn't seem to make him an eligible husband Catholic-wise. Farrah was also involved in another relationship when she was separated from Ryan. This guy was beating her and it went to trial. They had pictures of her bruised up. I can't imagine anyone looking at her and would think of hitting her. Kind of right when someone said she had bad taste in men. Farrah wrote her own eulogy. In it she said about Ryan, that she never understood their relationship and where it was going. I thought after 30 year and you still don't know? Like I said, Glad she didn't marry him.

I'm glad this has been posted! When I questioned this before about Ryan I got the impression you thought I was wrong to question it.The incident with Ryan and the brunette after the funeral doesn't surprise me. I'm going to visit in Sept.
Thanks for the photos. The orange flowers on her casket were beautiful.
Thanks GravesEnd!
Beautiful photos and what a lovely final resting place.
I have been searching the Internet with no success to find that jerk O'Neal kissing the woman in the back of the limo. Can someone post?
I will never forget when I heard that she died; on here I ran to my bedroom and sobbed. She fought such a brave fight. She didn't want to die. She fought for every day and every breath.
Farrah I will never forget you and the lessons you taught me...
A very sweet write up in FAD. I think Farrah would have liked it.
Thanks for posting the pix Grave's End. I haven't been to Westwood Mem. since Marilyn's 75th bday.
This is a great forum. RIP Farrah -- We'll miss ya.
