Seriously...Chaz Bono? lol. Cher is a joke too in my opinion...and having a father figure like Sony Bono around...Well, many daughters would have turned into confused freaks. lol!!!
My father wouldn't shut up about her/him/shim when she aired on the tube yesterday. He went on and on and on for about 2 hours. He couldn't believe it. I told him...I think she waited a little too "late" to become a man...lol. She just looks like a furry, lumpy, half-gay dorm room menial. Hate to sound harsh...but it's true. She has no real TALENT and really doesn't belong on television.
Speaking of Sonny, I posted on the Sonny Bono Thread about his other daughter Chianna.
She is 20 years old and pregnant. The father is 51.
The thing is Mary Bono and Sonny also got together about that time in their lives.
I predict Chaz will go early.
There is no talent there.
It will be a laugh to so the dancing costumes they pick out for Chaz.
I just can't see Chaz being graceful with that weight.

You guys got me wondering just exactly what Chaz does do for a living. Apparently she had a short-lived music career and is also listed as an actor, writer and activist. Hmmmmmm.......

Chaz said in her new book that she bought her first house with some Of the money from her 1st book.
When Chaz moved into a better home, Cher financed half.
When she had her long bout with prescription drugs, she said she didn't go out much and bathed only once a week.
I know Chaz got part of Sonny's estate that I think includes royalties and that would provide income.
I have been looking at the complaints against the show and I think some are valid.
This is a family show and I am sure a lot of people are uncomfortable with explaining transgenders to their kids.
Chaz won't last long.

[QUOTE=coconn04;1196288]There is also the UK article. The link was posted in the thread of Chazx going to the gym to lose weight for DWTS.
Cher's former daughter is clearly looking to get into tip-top shape for his reported place in the cast of the next series of hit show Dancing With The Stars.
However it looks like there is still plenty of work to be done by the former musician if he is to be fit enough to tackle the programme's physically demanding dance routines.
What is wrong with her hands? The right hand is twice the size of the left! Not that that is the first odd thing you would notice about her!!!
I dont watch DWTS so this is a sincere question.
Do the stars chit-chat about their personal lives on the show? Do the judges ask questions about their personal lives? I'm trying to understand how the transgender thing would even come up unless its just the fact that people know Chaz will be on and are worried their kids will start asking questions.
They do profiles of the stars and they go into interpretive dances from moments in their lives.
Kirstie Alley did a tribute to her parents who were killed in a car accident.
Ralph Macchio did a tribute to his wife.
Florence Hendeson did a tribute to her late husband and Her late co-star.
There are also friends and family on the audience they turn the camera too.
I somehow don't see Cher or Elijah but who knows.
I shall die, but that is all that I shall do for Death; I am not on his pay-roll.

Thanks coconn. I'm prolly the only one east of the Mississippi who hasnt seen this show!
The only career I've been aware of is as a writer for The Advocate.
I'm beginning to wonder how far these attacks will go, possibly to the point of another hate crime ...

It still amazes me this chick is being given all this attention. Born into fame b/c of tv star parents, mommy/daddy issues, "woe is me I'm gay", never had to work for anything, lop off some tits, take some testosterone and poof she's a dude. What a waste of time, print, tv time and space. That is just a chick with bad tats and too much free time.
Somehow it was OK to trash and attack Bristol Palin for going on the show because of who her mother is. Then is became Ok to trash her role as a advocate for teenage pregnancy.
Basically what we are saying is that Chaz's only claim to fame is who her mother is.
Chaz is not that talented and I think this show is a bad decision.
I shall die, but that is all that I shall do for Death; I am not on his pay-roll.

I dunno, to be honest I see this as a non-issue (her being on the show and parents feeling uncomfy). Much ado about nothing. But actually what it is doing is creating more buzz for the show and probably increasing the number of viewers.
I dont understand what people think is going to happen. It plays into this "pure family" notion some think the LGBT community is trying so desperately to do away with. Glee ran into the same issues with some parents who think kids will be gay now because its "glamorized" on TV. I think its ludicrous.

To be honest years ago people who felt this way years ago didn't have access to surgery
.The biggest thing is that they crossed dressed.
They have been doing these surgeries since 1952 but some still consider by some controversial and these people are mutilating their bodies.
I think Warren Beatty is a pretty liberal guy. His daughter wants surgery and he says no.

You have a point ... and buzz works.
(After watching the insane behavior by Casey Anthony follower's, eg death threats and harrassment toward anyone involved in the trial, my concern with an overzealous media is the baiting and inciting does inflame and cause problems)
We'll see issue on this one ... media may be walking the ledge.
It's ok whenever you remember it.
I think I remember Bristol getting death threats and a lot of people didn't care.
I think being transgenders is hard for adults to get their head around though. I remember reading about Christine Jorgensen when I was kid and it didn't make sense.
I shall die, but that is all that I shall do for Death; I am not on his pay-roll.

Call me an un-PC Lesbian, but I don't understand why Transgendered folks have to be included (lumped together) with the Gays & Lesbians. Hello? You changed your sex - you're "straight" now!
Looking back, she seemed more at ease in photos when she was a living as a woman. She looks awkward & uncomfortable in every pic I see of her now.
I have never thought she was hot but she was much more attractive as a butch lez than she is as a bloated trans. Whatever floats her boat. this is just my opinion.
I'm inclined to agree with you.
I have not known any person who went through an operation, but I agree with you. Chaz had a depression problem to begin with. She is just liking the attention now. I could predict that if Chaz is on the show for a length of time that the weight won't pour off her like the other contestants.
I shall die, but that is all that I shall do for Death; I am not on his pay-roll.

Ok now everyone is a bigot. My biggest issue with Chaz going on the show is that he/she is overweight. Kirstie went on the show when she was initially overweight and she was out of breath for the most part.
I could also see where people, no matter how liberal you are, are not comfortable with the idea of mutilating one's body.
Chaz still has girl parts.
I expect when Chaz is the first one voted off that it is because everyone is a bigot.
IT will not be because Chaz can't perform the routines.
I shall die, but that is all that I shall do for Death; I am not on his pay-roll.

How very...confusing.
Chaz is actually a half and half.
DWTS has her in the male line up, but he/she still has a vagina and no penis.

How can you legally be a man just bc you change your name? What about all the Danas and Jamies and Terris?
I think its more about going thru the gender reassignment surgery, then you petition the courts to change your gender.
Here's Chaz's website if anyone wants to look:
http://www.chazbono.net/becomingchaz.html
I'm missing something here.
He didn't go thru the entire gender reassignment surgery right?
He had breast removal, and hormones.
But still doesn't have a ween and probably still pees sitting down (maybe)
I'm as confused as Chaz was right now
If I went tomorrow and filed for a name change does it change me from an F to a M on my identification? (not that I'm going to, BTW
Chaz was vague about it during the Oprah interview I saw. And I had to wonder about his girlfriend. She was with Chaz as a her and continues to be with Chaz as a him. Bloody hell, my head is spinning.....
I've been looking for various laws and such about changing your sex. So far all I've come up with is its a state issue. Each state decides for itself what can and cannot be changed. I guess technically we dont know whether Chaz has a penis or not. So then the next question is, what are the legal requirements to change your sex after reassignment surgery? A woman who loses her breasts to cancer is not considered a man after the surgery. So if Chaz doesnt have a penis, wouldnt that mean that all the years of therapy, hormones, living like a man, the chest and other surgeries she did have, are enough to warrant the legal change from female to male? Chaz was born in L.A., and I am chuckling thinking about CA apparently being uncomfortable with gay marriage yet this seems to be ok with them. (Not a judgement statement, just an observation.)
coconn - you have read Chaz's book? Anything about the penis in there?
The thing with gay marriage is that it was voted on.
I think the 'female to male transition" is some kind of legal thing that a judge decides.
I have read the book and no, there is nothing about a penis in the book.
These are the issues discussed.
There was a childhood where Chastity's needs didn't come first. Cher's needs came first.
Chaz knew from an early age she was gay.
There was a 10 year addiction to painkillers.
Chaz had opportunities in the music industry. with her mother's help, and it didn't pan out. Chaz in the end didn't really like to tour and give interviews.
There was a time she was a LGBT advocate but she was fired went she made a remark about "The Ellen Show" being too gay.
Chaz made remarks that she never felt comfortable in the lesbian community.
Chastity had a hysterectomy because of endrometriosis. She also had large breasts which she was uncomfortable.
She decided she didn't want partial breast reduction, she wanted them off completely. Then she decided she wanted the testosterone.
Chaz had a lot to be unhappy about her life.
I shall die, but that is all that I shall do for Death; I am not on his pay-roll.
Edna St. Vincent Millay
Thanks for the info, coconn.
So now I'm left with the question........did her environment cause her gender confusion (as some here insinuate), or could her early (innate?) feelings about being trapped in the wrong body cause her unhappy childhood?
As a side comment in reference to gay marriage, judges step in all the time and decide things. Thats why people like Ellen & Portia were able to marry when they did. But then voters change that. Makes no sense to me. Hell, we would probably still not have legal interracial marriage if people could vote on it. But we can discuss that hot button topic another time, lol.
It was not a normal unbringing.
Chastity's parents never graduated from high school and her parents were an Academy Award winner and a congressman.
They always reinvented themselves and found success.
In the book, Chastity descibes how she was a tomboy and how she had boys for friends. So there was a childhood where she identified with being a boy. She said how her father and her like the some things like sports and he enjoyed this. There was also a time when Chastity was looking at the namplates for kid (the looked like licensed plates) and she couldn't find her name. Her father picked one and said, You could be Fred.
Chastity, as she grew past adolescence, describes how painful her periods were and how her large breast were painful.
I think Katherine Hepburn also went through a period like this when she was a child and she cut her hair off and became Jimmy.
Katherine outgrew this and whatever her sexuality was she was very fond of men and was very female in how she was very nurturing as is evident in how she took care of Spencer Tracy.
Chasity also had a mother whose basic philosophy was this.
Cher said "If I want to put tits on my back, it's nobody's business but mine.
I shall die, but that is all that I shall do for Death; I am not on his pay-roll.
Edna St. Vincent Millay
I don't get that either. Maybe it's because they were considered gay or lesbian before the knife. But then again, I've started heated debates because bisexuals confuse me. Straight...gay...straight...gay...pick a team!
Oh and wth is the difference between a bisexual and a pansexual?
She has female insides, and a vagina. She was created with an XX chromosome. Can't change that. She can call herself a man, but she's not.
I can paint myself green & call myself a frog but I'm not.
The Cat Man has gone to extreme lengths to look like a tiger. He's not legally a tiger. And btw he's more tiger than Chaz is man.
I have to comment on this.
I have the statistic in the 2012 GOP thread if anyone is interested.
Whites, Asians, Hispanics vote 50/50 on Prop 8.
It was that Black community that voted 70% for the ban.
From the articles I read , blacks don't like being compared to the gay community has having gone through the same experience for civil rights.
I shall die, but that is all that I shall do for Death; I am not on his pay-roll.
Edna St. Vincent Millay
Does anyone like being compared to the gay community? No, probably not.
The only similarity I see between black civil rights and gay marriage is the fact that its a group of people fighting for what they perceive to be a right. As I stated before, if left up to a vote, I doubt interracial marriage would be legal now. In fact, not much would be, expecially abortion. As we evolve as a society, its up to the courts to step in and keep equality and justice for all. Its merely gays/lesbians turn now.
As to your 70% stat - how many black folks voted total?
From what I can gather some ladies who are trans like the effect the hormones have on their clitoris and think it to be more than enough. I refuse to go into further detail about that on the grounds that I am a prude
I am on my iPhone. The statistics are on the California website.
The black vote went from 6% to 10% because they came out to vote for Obama. By the way, Obana was for gay marriage as a state senator and NOT when he ran for president, he was against it. Now Obama says he is evolving but how do you evolve backwards.
Here is another thing to get our heads around. Chaz and the girlfriend want to be married in California by Chaz step-mother Rep. Mary Bono.
By the way, she is against gay marriage.

OK--I'm not a prude and I'll go there.
I know a trans dude (female ---> male) who also did not have the actual sex reassignment surgery--it simply wasn't necessary. According to him, the hormones actually grow the clitoris into a penis-ish type organ. Evidently not functioning wholly as a penis (i.e., hard-ons sufficient for vaginal penetration), but it has grown, significantly, and it certainly has become as big as a small-to-normal-sized penis (yes, I've seen it).
So, many in the trans community feel the actual surgery is not necessary. In this light, I can see where Chaz could actually 'qualify' as a man, if indeed his clitoris has grown as such.
Also, I believe I remember from biology classes that the clitoris and penis are composed of the same types of tissue, so one man's clitoris is another man's penis, or vice-versa, or whatever.
All this is really moot though. Live and let live, he's not hurting anyone and we live in a free society. If folks' religious views get in the way of this, it's their problem, not society's in general. He's not a freak, he's a human being, just like you and me. I know some will choke on those words, but I would ask if the soul has a penis or vagina...in the larger scheme of things, what on earth does it matter?
If folks don't like the fact that he's on DWTS, don't watch. Simple.
But the hatred spewing forth on the blogs etc. is sickening, not to mention frightening. People have a right to their views and opinions, of course, but I for one find many of the hateful comments I've read to be repulsive and, to a large extent, simply evil. Humanity obviously still has a l-o-n-g way to go.

I again said my concern about Chaz and this transitionher/his health.
Being that overweight and taking testoterone is not a good combination.
Then we are subjecting this person to 8 hours of exercise a day.
If Chaz really feels that good about his/herself, what about the weight problem?
I showed the picture when Chastity was on Celebrity Fit Club at 215.
The pictures now show a 50 to 75 pound weight gain.
I shall die, but that is all that I shall do for Death; I am not on his pay-roll.

Chaz is now a male and as such, I'll be referring to Chaz as "he." I would do the same for anyone as it doesn't cost me anything, but the pain to the person is immeasurable, IMO.
Last edited by McCourt; 09-01-2011 at 12:48 PM.
IMO it is extremely sad that so much hatred spews forth from people who see themselves fit to judge others. No one has the right to judge others. Period.
If someone doesn't like Chaz, then fine. Don't watch him on DWTS if you don't like him, however spewing forth vile hatred towards someone that you don't even know is just mean, uncalled for and does nothing but show fear and ignorance of a situation that many people have no knowledge of and do not understand.
She can call herself whatever she wants, but my point is that doesn't make it so.
Chyna Doll has a huge C but it totally looks like a P. Due to steroids, reportedly. Is she a man? No, she's a she. taking hormones & lopping off your boobs doesn't make you a different sex. it just changes your appearance.
Why is this different from any other thread where the subject is torn to pieces? It's not. So to say she can't be judged is simply incorrect. I don't wish her any harm, & her inner pain is not to be made fun of. But as far as saying what we think of her? Free reign. She could hide, but she doesn't. therefore she's making herself a public figure.
